Hotel Raquel is a beautiful old building but not well maintained and not well cleaned, as the furniture was old and dusty. Breakfast was tasty, it kept us full until late afternoon, and daiquiris on the hotel bar were very nice also, especially when taken in the roof bar with nice view of the city. Location is superb, in walking...

Romantic location, with a view of the surrounding area. Seated along the stained glass dome that tops off the hotel. We did not stay at the hotel, but we did visit the rooftop terrace for drinks, so that's what I'm reviewing. This is a great location in the old city, close to the old square. Our stay in Havana was...

A beautiful old building in need of refurbishment. Our room was rather dingy, poorly decorated and the energy efficient bulbs not bright enough! The wobbly tap and toilet seat added interest to the bathroom. The towels and sheets were clean and the bed comfortable. The open sides of the dining room allowed flies in and they quickly settled on the...

Close to just about everything in old Havana for sight seeing, eating out etc. It's Breakfast area is in the main foyer area and the food is basic but good for Cuban standards. The roof top bar is a popular location in the late afternoon to pick up any light breezes. Tipping is a must here and is expected even...

The Raquel whilst full of old Havana charm is a little rough around the edges. Our room was nice and clean and it was an easy start to our trip around Cuba to check into a hotel. Breakfast in the hotel is pretty poor by international standards and unfortunately breakfast is swamped with flies, as the hotel is open to...

Most of the previous comments concur with our feelings having stayed at hotel Raquel. The building has a majestic architecture, which is very let down by a staff who we found to be less than helpful and quite often unwilling to acknowledge your presence. The hotel furnishings are shabby and dirty, the room whilst comfortable and mostly clean did not...

It's an historic building in the heart of the old town, so it's really easy to explore from here. The hotel lobby is the crowning glory and the roof terrace is a good place to enjoy a mojito. Our rooms were okay for sleeping: cleanish, with a warm shower that had a slow flow, but we could get clean after...

Hotel Raquel's lobby and exterior are stunning! Hotel staff were relatively easy to communicate with and mostly helpful. We were extremely disappointed to receive a (massive) room with two single beds for us as a married couple - and the reservation was made months in advance. When we requested a double bed - as stated on the booking - we...

The hotel is very oldy worldy just what you expect in Havana. The glass ceiling is just breath taking. The hotel is well situated for old Havana. The staff were very friendly. The rooms are very basic but again this was what we wanted. The hotel rooftop bar makes excellent mojitos and again the staff are very friendly. The breakfast...

This hotel is central to the old Havana center and whilst classed as a good hotel what was lacked in workable quality was made up for by the people. Suggest you go out for meals but the rooftop bar is great for pre dinner Mojitos and they try hard. Average to comfortable stay.
