Allegro Palma Real garners mixed opinions among guests. While the central location near nightlife is highly regarded, and the vibrant atmosphere with entertaining activities receives praise, visitors often find rooms plagued by cleanliness issues and faulty amenities. The hotel's amenities, such as the beach and pools, are appreciated, yet the food and drinks disappoint some. Travelers are divided on the value, with complaints about service inconsistencies and unexpected costs, despite others finding the rates reasonable. Service quality also varies, with instances of both commendable and unsatisfactory staff interactions.

Stay for 4 nights, 3 rooms, two of them double (one with child) and one single. Upon arrival we were checked in, told where we had to go and had to carry our luggage to the room.
When arriving at the rooms, the minibar of the room with child did not work, those of the others only keep cool, but do not cool. The air conditioning does not cool either, it seems to be a general thing, because we asked other guests and they were also hot. Clean rooms and towels too, linen with small holes but clean. The maid moves daily to clean and replenish the things in the bathroom if they run out, as does the bottled water.
In the buffet, variety is scarce, even for the times that they run. Stewed meats that are only skin, fat and even pig skin, with their little hairs and everything. There is no milk at breakfast, only yogurt, and watered, there is nothing to sweeten anything with, no sugar, no honey, nothing! The cheese they put, when there is, is white or process cheese; rarely ham and a lot of ham. Only the last day at breakfast there were cinnamon rolls, as the only sweet. There was no shortage of bread, but not a toaster to heat it.
One day at lunch the only edible entree was ham passed through the grill. The rices, mostly hard; the pastas, some days better than others, there were times that even sauce had. Only twice did we see breast on the buffet griddle, twice fish and a pork. In the trays there were one or 2 more options of strong dish, which could be beef, pork, liver or chicken; that is, at each meal 2 or 3 strong dishes to choose, sometimes well prepared and sometimes not. Two days there was black bean potting.
Desserts: ice cream only; on the last day they also put a sweet in pineapple and guava syrup, unappetizing the latter.
Offers to drink are "natural" juices that taste really bad in the lobby bar and pool, still soft drinks in the buffet (made with extract), beer (hot almost always) in the pool and after 6 in the lobby. In the beach bar there are soft drinks, acceptable.
The staff: the lobby the day we arrived, gave us very bad attention, necessary directions for us to get to the room alone and little else. The shift the other day, very attentive. Our waitress on the second floor, very friendly and attentive. Mileidy from the buffet, always aware of what we needed, helpful and efficient. Many buffet workers with bad faces and little desire to work, especially the white man on the iron. They don’t let you into the buffet with handbags, in case you take food (said by the workers themselves), and put staff next to the trays to look at the people served, it’s an unpleasant feeling to be watched. Friendly pool bar workers and entertainment guys always making your day.
To finish the stay in one of the rooms there was a mouse, one of the pools turned green not to clean it and there was a break I don't know where, they removed the water from the rooms on the last day.
It is a hotel that should not be open, we will certainly not repeat. I do not recommend it at all!

We stayed as a family for a few days at this hotel. Rooms 1418-1422 and 1430, we could see that it is a great hotel, with a lot of potential, but with deficiencies that obviously depend on the management of the hotel and that mean that we do not get the best impressions. The worst thing is that the hotel was always very dirty, of all the hotels in Varadero that we have visited this is by far the dirtiest, cigarette butts all over the floor, the pool area very dirty and no one can be seen cleaning throughout the day, except the rooms, which I must admit were very clean and adequate and the waitress is an excellent person. Perhaps a manager is needed to draw attention to smoking guests and not allow smoking in this area or also more trash cans nearby. The workers were all very friendly, they always made us feel at home, the girls at the Buffet and the ladies at the Lobby Bar are great and have a lot of patience because we could see that they lack the conditions to do their work properly, there is almost no ice in the hotel, every day the ice runs out early and then you have to have hot drinks. We had dinner at the Criollo Restaurant very well, excellent food, but the Buffet was quite poor for a supposedly 4 star hotel, low quality food and little variety, the snacks at the Snack were also quite poor... anyway, we went with two children and we had We have to go out to the Boulevard to buy them snacks because we found nothing suitable for them at the Snack. We are not demanding clients and if we make this assessment it is with the hope that the hotel will improve, since it has an excellent location and a very professional work group, in our opinion it only needs strong management.

Feb 6-20 , many trips to this hotel prior to shut down , many trips to others whilst Palma was down . Staff as always pleasant and was great to see some of my favorite faces . Special mention to Janet in the lobby bar , always a smile and great service . Hotel was clean , entirely new pool area at main pool . Beach access was non existant as all guests were directed to use Arenas Blancas or Solimar beaches . Food was as expected and repetitous however breakfast and lunch were available at Arenas Blancas for Palma guests as well as all bar services . Shows were also accessible to Palma guests at both Arenas Blancas and Solimar . Palmas new pool and limited crowd made for perfect afternoon leisure and entertainment. All guests were housed in only building one , I did have some room issues ( 3 rooms in 2 weeks ) but nothing serious and could happen at any resort . All around for the price you can't go wrong , perfect location , yes a walk to the beach but I find it shorter than most hotels down peninsula ! Would I return ? Yes , arriving again tomorrow Aril 3 for 2 weeks and will update with any new information on changes to the above . Both trips , $2700 all in for 2 , no baggage fees with AT and great flight times out of TO .

The hotel is very bad, everything is lacking. There is no water in the room, there is no coffee, there is no rum of any kind, only beer and whiskey and this is finished in a short time, that is, there are no cocktails of any kind. The beach is far from the hotel and when you get there there is a bar that doesn't offer anything!!!! I've been here for 1 week and they didn't change the towels...and the ones I have are very dirty, thank goodness I'm leaving today. The hotel staff is always displeased and the treatment is uncourteous. Bad responses and very bad character with people, including foreigners. The buffet was varied and well cooked, except for the unpicked rice full of black balls that are impossible to eat. Ice cream of various flavors always. No drinks at the buffet, just water. The site staff is not very attentive.
Anyway, don't spend your money on this place, whether Cubans like me or foreigners. It does not deserve the 4 stars it claims to have. Score -4

We celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary in style, all their workers did their best during our two-night, three-day stay, reservation at the specialized restaurant by the Luanda night manager, excellent service, spectacular Creole food, gift of a bottle of cider included as a detail for our anniversary. The entertainment of this hotel is one of its strengths. The boys Karel, El Chino, Maidolysy Alay put their heart into each presentation, especially the foam party that, despite the cold temperature of the water, was set at 120 degrees with their choreography. Thanks to the pool bartenders, the girls at the lobby bar, the cooks and helpers, the waiters and waitresses at the buffet table as well as the cleaning and gardening staff, the pool man and the area cleaning lady from the pool that thanks to your honesty we recovered glasses and cell phone that we had left and we had not even realized, just a recommendation and we know that it is a resource, to put a dispenser in the beach area and a new coffee machine in the lobby bar, Thanks also to the management and the technician who fixed it. Thanks to the security service for guaranteeing tranquility and the protection of our property, even though the parking lot is outside, there were no incidents. The friendliness, dedication in the service and hospitality made our stay an unforgettable experience. Success in the new stage of the hotel and may they get one more star, we are sure that they are taking good steps and that the Palma Real will continue to reign as our national tree 🤗, greetings and love from these super satisfied clients.

The worst hotel I have ever been to. My friends and I went on vacation to Cuba, and our surprise was when we arrived in Varadero, expecting a hotel with many activities and all inclusive, we found a buffet with a very strong smell that turned your stomach, no activities to do and Dirty facilities and rooms. The truth is that I do not recommend going to this hotel at all, yes, as we have taken the package with the English court, I really change the hotel because it is horrible, the bathrooms did not work and we had to pour water to make it work, the air conditioners did not work either and especially hygiene, it is dangerous to be in those conditions. Furthermore, the elevator did not work, they told us that a child had been trapped in the morning... I think it was the fault of the fact that there were not many staff and that the Barceló group does not take care of the facilities. I write it because we would have really liked to know before going since the photos are very misleading with reality. Thank goodness we are in a good mood and we were friends together because if not... Well I hope it helps you and you really don't choose it and that the owners of this hotel start taking care of it as it deserves and taking care of its facilities and not only profit by leaving a Hotel with many possibilities in a neglected hotel with poor hygiene.

We rested from 20 to 29 January 24.
And it was a wonderful vacation, in a wonderful place!
We were very lucky with the hotel, given its location. Close to the airport and for excursions. Nearby are the best clubs in Varadero. Although the hotel is on the second line, walking to the beach is very convenient, and on cool windy days, the hotel grounds were very comfortable, quiet and you could swim in the pool.
The hotel area is huge and very well-groomed, the greenery is fresh, there are many beautiful bushes and plants.
The rooms are spacious, have thick curtains, and the air conditioning is working. The furnishings are simple, the furniture and built-in wardrobes, of course, have seen a better life, but here we were simply prepared for the level of decoration, and therefore we were not particularly surprised and it certainly did not spoil the holiday. And without insects))) The view was of a beautiful internal area with a swimming pool and the bay. A special plus is the beds. Huge! For double occupancy, these are two full single beds, high, with a comfortable mattress and cool pillows.

Food. Here, too, we were prepared for the worst, and on the one hand it seemed quite normal, but on the other hand, some basic products were still missing. This bread and water are good for tea, as well as the tea itself and the mugs for it. Everything is fine with coffee and juices, as well as with other drinks. Coffee, including cappuccino, rum, and cocktails with rum, are delicious and natural. There is an a la carte restaurant on site that serves delicious fish. On Cuba day there were lobsters and fish. There was fish on ordinary days too, there was always meat: chicken, beef, pork. Of the fruits, the most delicious was guava, because... the season has just arrived.
The main value of the hotel is its people. Very good staff at all levels, everyone is very friendly and pleasant. The girls are not the receptionist, the girls in the lobby bar are just stars with the best cocktails. But the most memorable are the animation team - Chino, Karel, Alai and the magical hands of the masseuse Maidoli. They make up the entire holiday of the hotel: from morning exercises on the beach and dancing by the pool to evening performances. Every evening live national music in the lobby.

What a place arrived in the evening, helpful friendly young female receptionist, room ok basic 3 star, but clean. Food on buffet was not replenished when i was there and very limited with warm runny"ice" cream also offerred. No cutlery on tables, food on floor etc. no drinks service, warm eating area, queue for some bbq chicken but long wait and given virtually no food - really terrible - just thrown on plate. If you were black you got extra meat. saw this is action on at least 2 occasions, so beware. bar service long queue , to be served warm watered down beer in plastic cup tasted like lemonade so just poured it in plants outside. Eating area had view of empty swimming pool!! they had 1 other pool with water in. Had water bottle in room , lot of communal areas sticky and had odd whiff of sick thrown in. Really unpleasant place not far from the beach (Melia las Antillas, all inclusive, just up the road, cost approx $10 more a night and there was no comparison) This place was generally no service, terrible food quality, terrible hygiene , terrible food selection, and terrible drinks from the few I experienced. You must be pretty desperate to go here to relax and try and have fun(doubt this is possible here judging by all the miserable faces I saw!!! and my personal experience although brief you get a good feel)
cheap and nasty ... even by Cuban standards

The magnificent hotel exceeded my expectations
The excellent, well-prepared food was immediately replenished with what was running out, the very attentive and friendly staff help you at any time.
The location of the hotel is in the center of Varadero, you do not need transportation to get around.
Just when you leave the hotel you have the Varadero boulevard with a wonderful nightlife and you can be with all the tranquility in the world.

I will definitely repeat

This was my 8th visit to this hotel and I'm happy to say this visit was the best! The food was really good, the entertainment was really good, and people and workers are as great as they've ever been!
The only things that could be improved is getting the AC back into the buffet area. And it's not because I had concerns about the food spoiling, I never saw any of that in 7 days. But their soup was so good this trip I would have multiple bowls, and it would make me sweat so much because it was very hot soup. The beef/green peppers and pork on the flat top was very good, as were the omlettes every morning.
They have bologna, salami and ham which I would use to make an assorted sandwich every meal. 😋 And the bread! Its always the best I've ever had and they have quite the selection. The desserts were good too!
My maid Barbie was so good at her job amd is so nice it was always a pleasure to chat with her. The girls in the lobby bar were amazing and worked very hard all day. They deserve a raise!
The swim up bar is run by Tatica and Roberto and Yassir, and they're all great people and quick to get people their drinks. The daily bingo was a nice touch, and the prize is a bottle of Rrrrrrrrum!
The areas were all clean and well maintained, and the pool bar has been redone with new tiling and it looks great!

And please make sure to try the A LA Carte restaurant and I highly urge you to get the porkchop. It's stuffed with ham and cheese and it's breaded and so crispy. Best food I've ever had in Cuba.
There are a lot of new food kiosks surrounding the hotel, and we tried the fried chicken (7/10) and the tacos (9/10).

Please make your reservations at this hotel and I'm positive you will have a good time. The showers were always hot with great pressure, and it's worth it for the people alone.
