Negative points :
-Room security: For many, the doors to our rooms did not lock during our entire stay.
-Condition of the site: The hotel site has potential, but it is clearly neglected and lacks maintenance of the premises.
-Limited WiFi: WiFi was only accessible near the pool and in our unit. This was not a problem for us, but could be for other guests.
-For some, the air conditioning was noisy with broken controls, making it impossible to regulate the temperature.
-Disappointing VIP service: We opted for a Premium service including a VIP check-in. The VIP office was closed when we arrived (closes at 9:00 p.m.), so we didn't take advantage of it. Despite our repeated requests, the promised welcome gift (bottle of rum) was never received. Even after speaking with the manager shortly before we left, he said it was complicated and he would do his best, but we never saw him again. For the price paid, what it offers is clearly insufficient.
- Incident management a little disappointing, water damage caused by the backflow of the shower in a superior room required the use of our beach towels to soak up the water. Despite our report for cleaning, nothing was done. When we returned from the beach, the wet towels had simply been folded and put back in place by the housekeeper without being replaced.
Good points :
-Quality of food: Despite a lack of variety in the buffet, the food was very good.
-Entertainment and staff: The entertainers, and particularly Luis (Choko), were very dedicated and lively, passionately animating the wedding evening and continuing the entertainment in the lobby without being obliged to do so. in the evening there is always entertainment in the lobby. Entertainment was also organized on the beach every morning.
-Courtesy of staff: The staff was very courteous and smiling, providing quality service.
Classification and evolution of the hotel:
Although classified as a 4 star hotel, the facilities and rooms, which are a bit poor, do not justify this rating in my opinion. I would rate it more like 3 stars. Despite its great potential, the hotel has not shown signs of significant improvement, what I heard from a couple who visited the place 5 years ago, which is disappointing for a place which could offer much more.
Despite the many inconveniences, we still had a great week and met some great people. However, the cost of the stay seems excessive to me for what they offer.

In summary, we enjoyed our stay and recommend our hotel without problems even if it is a little far from Havana airport

We ate the same thing for 15 days and especially not too many vegetables luckily there are additional restaurants where you can only book twice a week and the choice is limited
The sea and the beach are magnificent and warm, what spoils it is the lack of deckchairs which are stormed from 6 a.m. by Russians
there is a bar at the beach but there is always a queue which is annoying to go to
The hotel management should prevent people from leaving their towels all day at the swimming pool or the sea and who do not necessarily come. At the bar she should forbid serving alcohol in mugs.
All these hassles ruined our vacation and created daily tensions.
It's a shame because the hotel is very beautiful, the rooms are spacious.
We reported these problems to our Tui representative who tried to intervene with the hotel management but was unable to do much.
It's a shame for the Cubans and for their economy but it doesn't encourage them to come back or do good publicity.

We had EVERYTHING in terms of food and drinks. Bacon, bread, pizza, pasta, mussels, fruit, meringue, omelets, fries, pina colada, cappuccino, etc.
The hotel is really clean. The rooms are a little dated in terms of decoration but we had two double beds and a single bed and our bathroom had a large new shower. The beach is beautiful, there are 3 swimming pools on site (including a paddling pool and a hip-deep pool), there is a water slide and a children's park. There are shows and entertainment everywhere every day and the staff really takes care. Bottles of water, beach towels, toilet paper every day, wifi everywhere.
We booked directly on the Air Transat website at a more than reasonable price and I was pleasantly surprised by this magnificent place, I recommend it 😍.
Great experience!

Check-in after 16:00, and does not depend on whether they have free rooms or not (we were moved to this hotel not at our request, but due to the fault of another hotel of this chain, Melia, they simply decided to move him in and still had to sit in the heat to wait for check-in)
The rooms are 2 and 3 storey bungalows, the rooms are very tired, the air conditioning is barely active, the plumbing is dirty, everything leaks, both the shower and the cabin itself, the water barely leaves. They clean the bed and towels every day, they made the bed with stains and hung a torn towel, so for the second week no one changes it. The minibar stated by the hotel is a bottle of beer) and is never replenished. After checking in on the first day, a huge cockroach was running around in the shower stall.
It’s difficult to evaluate the food differently every time, sometimes everything is good, sometimes it’s bad, at the beginning they fed well, chicken, pork, beef, various sausages, fruits, ice cream, then the sausages gradually disappeared, there was only one tasteless kind left, there were no vegetables, no tomatoes or cucumbers, but in general for Cuba the food is normal, if you forget that the hotel positions itself as 5 stars, I liked the donuts that they bake for breakfast (but they may not bake them and feed only yesterday’s tasteless rolls, probably depends on the mood of the cook), there are no juices. The plates and glasses are dirty and greasy, as are the tables. By the way, disposable cups are collected in trash cans in the evening, washed and used again...
The bar and alcohol are a separate conversation, the coffee is disgusting both in the bar and in the dining room, it is not made in a coffee machine, but is poured into a container from which it is then poured (we made it several times in a coffee machine, probably depends on the bartender), the choice of alcohol is very poor, the wines in there is no bar (there is one in the dining room, but you won’t be questioned there, they pretend that you are not there), there is no pina colada, there is no champagne, and in general there is nothing except rum and beer (this is the first time in Cuba, we previously vacationed in a 4-star hotel in another chain, there were no such problems )
The Internet is normal, when the hours run out you can extend them at the reception, the electricity is turned off many times a day, day and night. There is one Russian channel.
The beach and the ocean are of course super, white sand and a warm, clean ocean..... There are enough sunbeds (though mostly very old), and the towels are not bad.

The room they gave us at first had a strong musty smell and a lack of maintenance.
We complained and they moved us to another room, but the same or worse.
In 9 days of stay, they did not change our towel (we only had one per person) and neither did the sheets.
Someday the room was left un"cleaned" and the beds unmade.
We asked the waitress for clean towels and on the penultimate day she provided 2 small ones... the surprise was when my wife wanted to dry her hair with one of them and smelled a strong smell of SEMEN. They had given us dirty towels from another room... We immediately went to complain (without seeking any compensation) just so that they realize what is happening and prevent it from happening to another person.
We saw that the woman who checked us in had a long list of complaints about other rooms.
Anyway, in our room, the safe didn't work, both showers were broken, the furniture was damaged, there was dirt...
Not to mention the buffet and the bars... four kinds of food repeated 4 or 5 times so that it seemed like there was a lot of it. The terrible quality of the cold cuts, only pasty York Ham and cheese... (I say only because there was nothing else), hard bread, hard sweets, green fruit... One day there was no sugar, another they didn't have water in the coffee maker to making coffee, ice drinks with an intense smell and taste of chlorine (which according to the waitress is normal there)...
Poor animation both day and night... among many other things.
In short, we were going with low prospects, but not that low.
I understand that there is a need in the country, but if they charge like a 5-star hotel, they should give the quality and service of a 5-star hotel and not a pension.
We certainly won't be back!!!

The few positive things: size of the room, leisure area (including the pools), the great beach in front, the entertainment part, the water supply in the room.
Terrible and unacceptable things: very old and dusty furniture in the room, no bedspreads available, only blankets full of mites, towels are not changed (I stayed with the same one for 4 nights), there are no face towels, a hairdryer in the bathroom was even scary. using such worn-out, low-quality bedding. Wifi only works for WhatsApp messages (transferring photos or accessing websites, no way), the bathroom kit consisted of a small soap, shampoo and conditioner, no other amenities you would expect from a good hotel. Although the hotel area is huge, there are no umbrellas available. The bathrooms in the common areas are also in very poor condition. The bars all have maintenance failures (tables with broken corners, defective flooring, etc.)
Food - a separate chapter. What happened in relation to food at this all inclusive was unbelievable. At breakfast there was a queue of about 10 minutes to get a fried egg or an omelet. Every day I had to eat fried eggs with toast and papaya, which was the only fruit I could eat. The juices were all watery and full of sugar, so I only drank tea every day since I don't drink coffee. The cold cuts, no chance. At lunch and dinner it was always the same thing. Tough steak, raw chicken, fish that smells of the past, pasta with ketchup and supposedly pork meat. All food without any taste. The only thing I could face was the steak, with some salads, which weren't completely bad. I was only able to book one night at the themed restaurants, based on a favor ($). I went to the Italian one and it was horrible, even worse than usual. In the penne bolognese I chose there was more cooked carrot than pasta!
Anyway, this long text is to warn potential visitors that this is a very poor hotel in general, very far from being a 5 star hotel. With great will, 3 stars because of the beach in front.
It needs urgent renovations and the Meliá Network should be concerned about having its name associated with such low quality accommodation.

Starting with a positive note, the beach is truly amazing, and most employees are very friendly and helpful. That's why I decided to give it a 2 star.
Not so positive, the hotel is in serious need of repairs, all over. Out of 4 showers outside, only 1 is working.
The rooms all have problems from not working safes, doors and balcony doors not locking, bottom floors problems with bugs entering etc.
Buffet, I understand that cuba has a shortage of food but the food we received there was cold, even if you stand in line for your pasta, by the time you are back in your seat, it's cold. We ended up going to the alacart for warmer food.
Don't expect it to be any different each day, it's the same thing all week.
Entertainment is basically none existent and quiet. The hotel next door had fun music playing all day.
As for the staff, most of them speak very little English.
As for room towels and beach towels, be aware that you get them at the beginning of your week stay, and you're stuck with them for the week, there is no exchange of new ones.
I tried to get new fresh towels for the beach only to find out that there's none available.
We appreciate all the people in Cuba, but we don't think we will be back so soon.

-First: the catering service is horrifying having to wait more than 45 min to be given a chicken or pork fillet.
-Second: tell you at the buffet that they do not have soft drinks that only have water and then go to the lobby and if they have another drink that was not water. Apart from being
Eating and that you get up to get something to eat and when you return to the table and everything has been removed without having
Finish. order drinks and don't even listen to you.
-Third we talk about facilities, a luxury hotel (even knowing the Cuban conditions) that has the facilities such as the nightclub closed, bars by the pool without drinks or that give you lowered with water, theater that said that there were performances and do not work just put a time to a gentleman to sing in an area of the hotel and settle for that.
The snack bar you go to order something to eat and they don't have hamburger bread at 4 in the afternoon, and then in the evening you want to sit on the terrace near the lobby and you want to go to the bathroom since the rooms are away and you find the
Toilets full of poop without the hotel solving it (which is somewhat unpleasant attached photo)
Fourth we talk about rooms that I attach photos, Merilla of the door with a hole where the mosquitoes enter that we have had to cover it toilet paper, we have only been one night and we have not been able to sleep killing mosquitoes
“We have spoken to the hotel and they tell us that they will come to clean the room well or fumigate it but they do not listen to it I ask to speak to the hotel director and he was never in the hotel either in the morning or in the afternoon, or any other charge. Thank you that I have spoken with my agency that by the way I recommend it TRIPS EL CORTE INGLÉS and they solved it the same day, they have moved us to another hotel of the same chain and the truth great since it did not go 3-4 days if not a week. They tell us that they change our hotel leaving a notebook paper at the door of the room, when we arrive at the reception they tell us our agency has spoken to them and that they change us to another hotel they leave us waiting in the lobby why we would take the
Trunk and after half an hour waiting we are told that they can not take us x q the car was spoiled to walk if we wanted. I pass you picture of the hotel and the mosquitoes we killed only in one night and this was on 24/08/24.
You often had to wait a long time for the guy who changed the beach towels, he preferred to drink coffee or be out somewhere!
If you've been there once, that's enough..... the beach is the absolute highlight..... otherwise a very poor country!
If you've been there, you'll have problems entering the USA afterwards!! It's only possible with a visa now...ESTA is no longer possible!!
