Doesn’t worth the money. Awful food, a lot of Russians with JBL near the pool and at the beach, old rooms, zero in mini bars fridges. Good beach and a see. Very expensive excursions by travel agents in hotel. You can finde outside 2-4 times cheaper.
Peninsula Melia Varadero - 1 week stay at this hotel, reception area was nice but the rooms were more 3* than 5*, no tea or coffee facilities though a kettle and cups were present! Plug sockets in the room didn’t all work. The grounds were lovely and very clean. The beach was lovely too. Very weird booking system for restaurants which you could only reserve on a Monday and had to book all restaurants for the week. I read quite a few reviews with regard to the food not being good, we found the food varied and nice, sometimes hot food could be on the cold side and all fruit were tasteless and fruit juices were definitely watered down. Music is played everywhere, especially at the pools which was a bit annoying, as it was quite loud. We found our room to be clean and the bed was a bit firm but slept ok…
Melia Peninsula Varadero is very nice resort. The trees and vegetation gives an impression of a paradise. I loved the staff. They were all caring and helpful in every way. We were offered fresh coconut drink everyday from the coconut tree on site, That's a memorable experience. The beach is exceptional. Our overall stay was very pleasant. I would definitely return to this resort another time.
We were at Melia Peninsula as a family of 4 during the Christmas break, and we had a wonderful time there! The resort is very well taken care of. The pools and all areas are extremely clean, the staff are hard working, kind and attentive. The beach is amazing! The cooks are working hard to please every picky eater. We found the food delicious! No issues at all. The Christmas gala was absolutely amazing! We’ve never seen so much fancy food so nicely decorated. They did an amazing job!! The only complain we have is about the restaurants reservation system which apparently is done on Mondays only. If you arrive on Tuesday, which we did, you cannot get in to a restaurant if you are there for a week. Very bizarre! Yes, they did run out of milk and red mine, but people must understand that Cuba is under sanctions and that fact that they can still manage under this pressure is incredible. We go to Cuba for the amazing beach, ocean and people, and we love it there! Please pass our gratitude to all the staff at the hotel! We had a great vacation! We will certainly come back!…
Comfortable and right on the beautiful beach. Excellent services and total cleanliness. Staff were excellent and very attentive to guests and a lovely variety of food, drink and snacks to choose. Would recommend
