Melia Las Antillas garners appreciation for its stunning beachfront setting and a vibrant atmosphere that's alive with daily entertainment and cultural festivities, which guests find particularly delightful. The service at the hotel is often lauded for the staff's warmth and professionalism.
However, opinions on value are divided, with some guests praising the affordability but others pointing out shortcomings in food quality and room condition. While the amenities, including the beach and dining options, receive positive remarks, there's a consensus that room and facility updates are necessary.

Big Wow Everything is perfect, the level 5 room to recommend for the view and concierge service there is a room on the floor for an exceptional privilege service which awaits you small bites all day and drinks.... coffee, beers , wine, champagne at will we were a little fearful for the food, but we lacked nothing at the buffet all are excellent yarista at the buffet so charming as well as Greter and Nadalis are smiling are concerned about your well-being she takes care of the consiergerie on the 5th speaks French very well .... in short the staff is great and very energetic the staff speaks a little French but much better English, Spanish three a la carte restaurants there is wine but there is none at the buffet sangria cerveza orangade water rum and coke...... but no wine at the buffets but with a good tip unlimited or almost access to the a la carte restaurant.... the site is very well maintained even if the ceilings are maganés .... unimportant in my opinion a lot of entertainment even attending the reguin meal on the site there are three in the pool ..... Leisure activities on the site ..... chess and checkers games giant, ping pong, tenis, billiards the accessories to play there are very well maintained. Didn't have enough 10 days we would have taken more....just good weather, no rainy days. One day no seas because the ground waves too big red flag and warnings from the first aiders on the beach for the more reckless other positive point the seller stays on the beach I mean he does not pass between the deck chairs shouting like on others masseuse site who walks around offering great back massages.....first time for us in Varadero but not the last!! Big thank you to the entire team Melia las Antillas see you soon xxx

A very nice hotel that impresses with a lot of Cuban charm. That's why I chose this hotel again. The entire complex makes a very well-kept impression. The staff, from the gardener to the manager, are extremely friendly, helpful and courteous. Spacious rooms, which are cleaned daily by cheerful housekeepers, offer a great view of the sea, which is not far away, from the concierge floor. The fine and clean sandy beach invites you to sunbathe extensively and if you don't want to go to the beach, there is of course also a large pool area available. The paths to the bars spread across the resort are kept short and you are served with a lot of love and attention. Of course, there is no lack of entertainment either. The daily changing shows and lunch programs are very entertaining and staged with a lot of commitment, but designed in such a way that vacationers in chill mode do not feel disturbed. The extremely lavish buffet offers a lot of variety and is stylishly designed. The three à la carte restaurants also invite you to spend cozy evenings in a sophisticated atmosphere. No questions or wishes are left unanswered, both at reception and with the friendly and courteous ladies in the guest experience.
It is important for holidaymakers to find out about the living conditions and supply issues in advance. It can happen that there are shortages of some products.
However, this is made up for with a lot of elegance and ingenuity. Dear people, take it easy and be pleasantly surprised by what the employees can conjure up out of little.
In short, a holiday from which you come home completely relaxed and happy with many wonderful memories and look forward to the next time.

The hotel is located on a dream beach where it is very shallow. The sand is very fine, it invites you to walk. After arriving at the hotel we were greeted very friendly by Lorena, she helped us check in and already provided the most important information. The next few days we were in the 5th. Floor by Greter and Naidelys very well looked after, we were always invited to eat a little something in the separate lounge or have a coffee comfortably. The two ladies were very accommodating and knew us a lot about the country and people. (This service applies to guests who have booked the rooms in the upper part). The rooms are large and functional, most rooms have views of the hotel complex with the large pool. Rooms facing the main entrance have morning sun. The buffet restaurant is open for FS/ME/NE, it has a considerable selection whereby it should be remembered that the one or the other food is missing from time to time as the delivery of the edibles is partly not or too late. For example, it often had no butter at breakfast (was not delivered). The dishes are good, you definitely get full. We have already pre-booked in advance in the three specialty restaurants, i.e. for dinner you can either eat Cuban, International or Italian, here the menu itself can be compiled from a menu. The hotel bar has a large terrace, the drinks offer varies depending on availability (for example, no pineapple juice was available during our stay). But it has more than enough drinks which are offered. Incidentally, entertainment is offered every evening, a show at 9.30pm became a successful change for us.

In general, I liked the place and the hotel, the best option for those who do not want to overpay. The beach and sea are wonderful, however, it was cool, there was a strong wind, the sun came out twice in a week, the air temperature was 23-24 maximum. Friendly and attentive staff, no one is indifferent, they try their best. When we checked in for 25 dollars we chose building 67 and room 6717, it turned out to be very quiet, with the exception of crazy discos on Christmas, everything was buzzing until 3 am. No matter where you live, you can hear it from everywhere. Towels are provided and changed all day, until 17.30, there is enough for everyone, as well as places at sea. Delicious mocha coffee, cappuccino in the lobby bar, we came there after breakfast. Among the strong drinks, rum and whiskey were good; the Italian restaurant had very good wine, red and white. In a week you can go to Cuban, Italian and romantic restaurants three times. The best of them is Italian, there for the first time in our entire stay we ate salad, excellent grilled fish and potatoes! Yes, there was no seafood, fish, fruit or simple potatoes in the main restaurant all week. The fruit was an unripe white watermelon, so where do they get them from? Papaya, pineapple and some sour star-shaped fruit. Christmas saved us - on this day, by magic, we had everything: lobster, seafood, turkey with apples, fresh apples! I dialed them for the whole time. Delicious desserts and excellent ice cream. In general, a feast for Lucullus! The next day it was still fresh and dull. For the food and fruit, this place is a big minus. It’s good that there were scourge fighters walking along the beach and selling bananas, for 2 or 3 dollars - a gorgeous bunch of small and very tasty ones. As a result, the trip was not very successful: because of the cold, we only walked along the beach, dressed in warm clothes; At dinners there is no hot tea, ice or strong drinks are poured. The hotel, of course, does not affect the weather, but there is really nothing to do there if the purpose of your visit was a beach holiday and relaxation, since you have seen all the sights before. I don’t recommend coming at this time of year: out of three trips, only the first was normal, when it was really hot, there was a beach holiday, which is what everyone comes here for.

We booked 8 day's the start of October, looking at the recent reviews of the Melia las antillas it's a mix of great and below average so here's my personal opinion. I'll start with the positive because there is a great potential here, rooms are big with a little living area to relax ok yes the rooms are in need of some attention but I understood they have hundreds of guests coming in/out every year. The outdoors the gardens are very well maintained and all the gardener's are very friendly and you can ask for a coconut ( with a little tip) which is refreshing. The beach is clean and plenty of sun loungers for guests, the beach bar has a very friendly bar man you must try the lemon and rum . There are some friendly faces around the hotel but to few to mention Negative points The week I arrived there were around %75 Russian guests which is difficult to live I'll say no more on that lol, the food was tha main disappointment which I like to think I'm not a fussy eater. The morning there is cues for omelettes and eggs for around 20min and apart from that there is nothing else to eat. The lunch/dinner if your a vegetarian please don't come here with hardly no vegetables just rice/pasta which everyday can be disappointing. The fruit smoothie were bland same as most of the food sadly you can leave the hotel and go to the markets and find avocado, Banana's and loads more for a few Euros ( which we did ) .
Overall our stay was fine but definitely won't return to this hotel . I'd say the Canadian reviews on this hotel are none realistic and advise you to look else where when searching for your holidays in Varadero.

We had a wedding ceremony at the hotel. It was unforgettable. Stunning flowers, arch, all the accompaniment. Decorated the suite for the wedding night. Morning breakfast in bed.
The hotel itself has pros and cons.
From the pros: a large green area, a wide stunning beach, there are always free sun loungers, every day evening animation (synchronized swimming in the pool and rock concert just in the heart of it ). The whole staff was very pleased (especially a Russian-speaking woman named Kenya, I don't know exactly who she is and her colleague Yulesi, she organized our ceremony). A huge plus there are no kids.
Cons: Like everywhere else in Cuba, we may run out of food. But the most significant downside for me personally is the lack of a pin colada, but I discovered another delicious cocktail - Kanchanchara (lemon juice, honey, rum, ice)
Bottom line: I give high regard to the hotel, because it is not the first time in Cuba and knew what to expect.
With regard to the wedding ceremony: Planning the ceremony was a choice between a hotel wedding and a booking from an outside firm that specializes in it. There were pros and cons everywhere and the choice was very hard.
Hotel ceremony: Pros: - the hotel provides for the entire vacation a room of superior category, upon arrival as a gift a bottle of champagne and a large convenient beach bag with the hotel logo, holds a ceremony (arch, buffet, waiters, cake, musicians), decorates the venue with live flowers, records all restaurants a la you and your company, every time there too everything is decorated, decorates the room for the wedding night, after which breakfast is brought to the room in the morning with a bottle of champagne - all this is free. They also allowed you to call your photographer. We only paid for wedding dinner ($55 per person) and musicians (50%). Dinner ball in the on-site gazebo. Lobster (lobster) and other seafood. Very beautiful pitch, everything was delicious and very romantic. - also a huge plus that you don't go anywhere in the heat, calmly pack and go to the arch, no need to look for a restaurant, think about transferring guests, etc. Cons: -the biggest downside is the people in swimsuits who will climb into the frame. And the arch stood far away from the deckchairs, but they all came closer to see ))
Agency ceremony: Pros: - deserted beach, a large selection of photographers, beautiful location, many decoration options to choose from Cons: - cost of the ceremony from 500; - you have to worry about transfers, restaurants, etc. (the agency I liked holding ceremonies in Havana. It's a round-trip transfer, rent for 2 nights. If there were no guests you would most likely choose this option)

Hello everyone, vacationed with your husband from 23.01-6.02.2025.We are long-term travelers but in Cuba for the first time,we were met at once ,given room 6428,the room has everything as described fridge, kettle, smooth board, hairdryer, set of shampoo+gel+soap, modern plasma, etc. The hotel area is green, there are fish ponds, large clean pool. The hotel is a little tired but the staff try to make everyone comfortable. Food: there was all chicken, beef, fish, seafood. When they say nothing is debatable, there's always something to choose. Every lunch and dinner for dessert ice cream, the fruit didn't come to us on the amateur. Chefs right in front of you fry fish or meat, make pasta with additives of your choice. Lobi bar on reception great coffee, various drinks, cocktails, girls try (Mabis is the best always on the positive smiley girl)all bars pour everything and as much as you like (take thermo mugs are very helpful)liked the barbecue area, twice a week cooked paella and pasta with seafood, you eat, and you are entertained with live music and incendiary dancing inviting tourists to participate. On the beach you can take a catamaran, kayak or you will sail (for an extra fee will be taken to snorkel )on the beach the guys drive offer a pina colada in pineapple 5 bucks.not a bad cocktail. Live music is played in Lobi every night, followed by a variety of band performances from synchronized swimming to heavy rock. Bring a positive mood and everything will be great. But if you have any questions contact Kenya (the cabinet administrator next to the reception speaks Russian) it will definitely solve any problem. I had a birthday hotel congratulated with champagne - nice. In general, there is a feeling of concern for tourists. I want to note the location nearby there is a yacht club and a dolphinarium. Good luck, everyone, and have a good time.

We stayed at the hotel in January 2024. Nice green area. a lot of greenery, the rooms are a little tired, especially the bathrooms, but this does not spoil the overall impression of the hotel. Friendly staff, cleaning every day, towels changed every day, beach towels changed throughout the day without restrictions, varied food (for Cuba) vegetables, meat (beef, pork, chicken) fish every other day (of the same type, but it is available), fruits (according to the season). I can recommend it, no shame.

Wonderful hotel, friendly and caring staff, cozy rooms, large area.
My friend and I were alone. And I would like to note the following points:
Good and funny animation, water show, opera and competitions. Every day there is some kind of program, the animators are trying. And yes, this is an adults-only hotel, so no children's music or anything like that. The main program on the street ends at 23 and then goes into a closed space, so you can have a disco without disturbing your sleep.
The food is the same as everywhere else on the island. Other hotel guests who have been to different hotels in Cuba say that the food at this hotel is good. Sometimes there was crab meat and avocado. There is plenty of meat (pork, chicken, beef), side dishes too - rice, pasta, etc., but almost no fresh vegetables (only cucumbers and pumpkin). If you are used to drinking a lot, then keep in mind that 1.5 liters are given for 1 room, that is, for 2 people. In bars, water is not limited, but they only pour it into glasses or into your container.
The ocean is gorgeous. A long strip of sand, fine sand - flour. You can walk in both directions, swim on any beach. The depth is shallow, the approach is pleasant. The ocean is calm, sometimes there are waves. Gorgeous views of sunsets and sunrises. They walk along the beach and offer various things, but do not enter the area with sun loungers.
Overall we are very pleased! According to reviews from other guests who stayed in different hotels in Varadero, this is the best hotel on this coast in its price category.

Being able to experience two weeks of vacation in a fascinating, multifaceted country with great, funny and helpful people is probably the wish of every vacationer. And that is exactly what makes Cuba so lovable. Visiting and getting to know the Caribbean island has been on my to-do list for a long time. At the Hotel Melia Las Antillas you feel comfortable and always welcome from the first to the last minute. The employees really always put all their dedication and love into ensuring that we vacationers have a pleasant stay. Be it the cleaning, the staff at the bars and in the restaurants, but also the craftsmen who constantly take care of the small and large "challenges". The hotel itself is not a concrete castle like those often seen in Varadero, but a cozy hacienda-style complex with direct access to a white sandy beach on the crystal-clear ocean. The rooms are spacious, clean and very well equipped. TV, minibar, hairdryer, wardrobe, 220V sockets, everything is available. Some things seem a bit adventurous but you should overlook that. The same applies to the food (especially at the buffet). Things that we Europeans take for granted may not always be in stock, but the chefs have lovingly prepared a good selection of dishes every day. (Alternatively, there are also a la carte restaurants in the complex - prior registration required)
Animation - Sure - what would an AI holiday be without animation? Not everything has to be to your liking. But you shouldn't miss the Dia Cubano in the outdoor area with typical Cuban food and local dance. We were also lucky that one evening a live band played hearty rock music at the pool bar.
What is unfortunately missing in the complex are small shady oases. The covered seating areas on the way to the beach bar and the area at the (beach) bar itself are very good, but there could actually be more of them in the entire complex. I could very well imagine small seating areas surrounded by palm trees. Or perhaps a small expansion of the area at the beach bar, taking into account the adjacent natural vegetation. Or alternatively larger umbrellas at the pool.
Otherwise, the complex is really great and definitely recommended.
Now a few words about Varadero itself - Varadero is "not" Cuba. Cuba is Havana, Santa Clara, Vinales and all the other fantastic places on the island. If you want to experience Cuba, it is a must to discover, understand and get to know the country and its history and its warm people, either on your own or by taking the tours offered. But even in Varadero, away from the main street and the souvenir markets, you can get a little insight into the everyday life of the people. Go for it, I'll be surprised at the great discoveries you can make there.
I would like to thank the staff at the hotel for allowing me to have such a wonderful holiday. And especially to "my" lovely waitress, whose name I unfortunately forgot to ask. And to the young lady who always served the ice cream with a lot of passion.
Muchisimas gracias por todos - I think I'll come back again.
