Overal it was a good stay. The resort could use some TLC. My room wasn't maintained properly. One of my sliding shower doors was missing. With jnky 45 guests at the hotel, you would think that they would not use those rooms. My partner has special dietary needs and they were adhered too, with the exception of the last day, during breakfast, the staff was rude and refused to accommodate. This was the exception. Most staff went out of their way to accommodate the dietary needs.
Rated this resort 4/5 because of the great value. You must always remember you get what you pay for. We booked the Sunclub for the upgraded amenities and private check-in. Check-in was very chaotic. No one to greet us, no cool towel or welcome drink. Just a lineup of guests hoping they were in the right place. Honestly not much different than regular registration. We stayed in a beachfront king room. The view was fantastic. We could see the beach and ocean right from our bed. The sunsets were spectacular. Housekeeping was good, although we did find two broken fake fingernails, one on the suite floor and the other beside the bathroom sink left behind after housekeeping left. We reported this and assume that it was looked into. Stocking of the mini bar was hit and miss, some days it was refilled, others, not. Always plenty of fresh towels and decent toiletries. The sunclub (Flamingo wing) had its own private pool and bar. Kenneth, the bartender at this bar deserves special mention as he was a delightful gentleman who provided great service. I thought that I had read somewhere that this pool was adult only, but there were always children here. We are beach people so it did not bother us. For the most part, this was the quiet end of the resort. Just what we wanted. The resort has a phone APP that shows the daily activities and which restaurants that are supposed to be open. Since occupation is low, the restaurant openings are rotated. However, the APP was never correct. We had to ask Sunclub staff daily or just walked around in the evening until we found an open restaurant. They offer room service however they closed early without notice, or just did not answer their phone. We had to call the Sunclub concierge and they placed the order for us. Very frustrating. A word of warning to any vegetarians visiting, it is like trying to find a vegetarian meal was in the 1980s. The selection was extremely limited (except for the Italian restaurant)and although I was provided with a letter to present at dinner, I was only ever offered the rice and veggie sides. It was not all bad, my husband’s meals were always delicious (he eats meat and fish). The service was exceptional, Judriet and Zavier always went out of their way to do what they could for us. This resort is a little older and could use a little update but is well laid out on a great stretch of beach. The water is calm due to the man made reef. Good for swimming, snorkeling and kayaking. The dive shop offers several outings. We went on a two hour snorkle trip that was well worth the extra cost, there was lots of sea life to view. My final comments are in regards to New Years Eve. We were advised we would have to make a reservation, for either the buffet or the ala carte Blue Water with one hour seating limit unless we purchased a bottle of wine. We were looking forward to a romantic dinner for two, so we purchased the wine and made our reservation. We arrived at the restaurant for our reservation only to find they decided to close the restaurant because of rain. No notice provided. Why couldn’t they relocate guests to another restaurant not affected by the rain? Instead we were directed to a line to get into the buffet restaurant . Once seated we were directed to another line for the food buffet. By this time I had lost my appetite which was good because once again there was little vegetarian choice. The evening was ruined. But I must give credit to our waitress, Judriet and her manager Julie who made it up to us the next evening providing us with the ambiance we anticipated the night before. A great deal of love and appreciation to these two amazing ladies. After many ignored requests to speak with the hotel manager we left feeling very unsatisfied. We will not return to Sunscape in Curacao or any of its other locations.…
We spent 2 amazing weeks at Sunscape Resort Curacao: comfy room for 2 pax. with amazing ocean-view, beautiful and relaxing private beach, good restaurants in the resort, nice staff and best bar with the best bartender, Kenneth, at Sun Club! Thank you so much also for the excellent safety measures introduced due to the Covid-19 pandemic (disinfection stations all over the resort, extra cleaning measures, safe outdoor activities etc.)!!!
loved everything at Sunscape! cleaning was top notch, good food options even though there weren't many guests at the hotels. Beds are very comfy and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful! i highly recommend Sunscape :)
We arrive late and was treated vary nice. They made sure we received dinner and checked in a timely manner. The manager Kareen made sure everything for my sister celebration was awesome from the time we arrive till the day we left. Let's not forget get Kenneth our bartender at the pool From Dec 20th the day we met Kenneth he treated us like family. He made sure we got everything we need while at the pool and when we will go out for dinner he told us about the different restaurants and the food they served. The service from Kenneth on a scale of 1-10 Kenneth get a 100. Definitely will come back and will ask for Kenneth.
