This was our forth time coming here in the last couple years. We always had a good time and decided to suggest it as we planned a couples trip. Things definitely are different now. Most things there are closed. Had a positive experience with a handful of staff/servers. We Ended up purchasing what’s sold as a “romantic dinner” that included steak or lobster and a bottle of champagne. Steaks were almost half fat and never received our champagne. When we asked about the champagne we received the run around day after day and even at checkout 3 days later. Nobody seemed to have an answer or were always looking into it. The resolution that was offered to us was a 15% discount after wasting another hour explaining the same story that was explained to about 4 other people throughout the stay. It seems like EVERYONE that does approach you, is trying to sell you something. It gets to the point where you get tired of being bombarded with the sales pitches that you have to hide your face or pretend you are sleeping. They do take temp and have you wear gloves and masks which was a positive. I would not recommend or be a patron again.…
It was not our first trip to this hotel, but it was the first time during Corona times. In spite of this difficult situation, it was again a great experience there! Everyday the workers of the hotel make you smile-no matter whether it’s raining or the sun is shining. The food is delicious and the nature is stunning. Everywhere palms, a nice beach and a beautiful sea. Especially the entertainers La Chiquita, Juanito, Sexy Body, Cappuccino and Marionell are doing a great job. Latin Dance lessons, Zumba, Aqua Gym, Aqua Spinning, Cocktail courses...they offer so many activities for their guests. If you have questions, they always have an open ear for you. We thank them for such an excellent time in the DR-with them we felt like being at home. Keep it up like this. We would always come back.…
All your team, especially Jasiel , Isabel and Fanny were very kind and always helping with everything, very friendly with us, thank you very much. Appreciate your Covid-19 test free available for your guest
We visited Melia Caribe because we wanted some relax time, and this is what we really got! Everything went perfect! The check in was fast, we arrived at 9 AM and normally the rooms are ready after 12, but they gived us the rooms done at 10, the complex it’s huge, you can walk hours in it without getting bored because the view of the palm trees it’s very pleasant, the rooms were very clear and spacious, the food at the restaurant always was great, the people are very kind, the pool is huge and clean, the beach also very spacious and always we could see people working to keep it clean, and even the activities were entertaining and a pleasure to participate in, i really struggle to keep this realistic, but I don’t have something negative to say! I will surely come back.
Our stay was a total disaster. First of all, the hotel messed up our room reservation. Second, they called my husband ONE DAY BEFORE our anniversary and told him that we will get our a cake TONIGHT after dinner, totally screwing up my surprise and messing up the date. We didn’t have hot water for 3 days. On the third day, we were told by annoyed maintenance guy, that we need to run all facets for 20 minutes and then we can take a warm shower. On the top of everything, all amenities were closed, no restaurants (except a dinner with no ambiance next to the buffet where we got a cold fry fish appetizer after an hour wait), no gym, no any kind of entertainment. Additionally, the hotel is running a scam. We were approached by the employee of the hotel and offered a complementary massage in the exclusive area at the another property. They took us there the next mooring and it turned out that we were tricked into attending a time share presentation. When we declined to purchase a 22K offer, we were told that we like to stay in dirty hotels with cockroaches. When we inquired about our complimentary massage we got a certificate and were told to redeem it at our hotel. Next day, at the spa, the employee informed us that the certificate is good for 30 min massage for one person and that we have to pay $75 for the other person to get our ‘complementary massages’. It is a total scam. We highly recommend choosing another property on Bavaro Beach because this one is not worth even its discounted price.…
