My return trip was booked so to the wonderful service my family had received from Jonathan Melo my butler that now I consider family. Other staff also contributed, Martin, Franchesca, Jorge, Odel, Columbia, Jose, Martin. My new family can’t wait to return.

Hotel's Favourite
Outstanding hotel with lovely, welcoming staff who completely made our holiday. Loads of space around the pools with loungers available through the day. Lovely spacious rooms with comfortable beds, good showers, mini bar, working safe and balcony. Immaculate hotel and grounds with reduced capacity in restaurants and face coverings worn by all staff and guests when inside. Complex is big and joined to the Royalton Punta Cana - all lovely to walk around though there is a frequent shuttle (open sided small train so now covid concern there). We managed to get in our 10000 steps every day just wondering around with the kids and walking on the beach so easy to stay active if that’s your thing (we also used the gym), or just kick back and relax if you rather! Restaurant wise there are a number that you can use whilst staying at splash - our favourite was the Italian over at Royalton right next to the beach - buffet at lunch and al a carte dinner. Mexican (splash) has a good atmosphere - tasty food but small portions. We didn’t like the food so much at the Italian at Splash but it’s a nice place to sit. Tip - Beans at Splash does ice cream! We thought only scoops at Royalton did until our last day! Both are great for grabbing a coffee and cake if you prefer for breakfast or a much needed snack after swimming. The buffet restaurant has a great selection of tasty food, is spacious so not too crowded or noisy and again the staff were all great. The pools are fantastic, huge and well kept. No lifeguard if that’s important to you but tons of staff on hand. The water park is amazing - our kids are 11 and 15 and plenty to keep them occupied though the smaller kids area also looked fantastic, great family fun, also plenty of really good lifeguards here. The staff at both hotels are amazing - really helpful and friendly which we find makes a huge difference to a holiday. Some tips were given by us and others but not all, and we didn’t feel pressure to do so. One of our favourite parts of the hotel was the variation of seating and bar areas - we wondered around the resorts in the evening and sat at different places each time to take in the atmosphere, listen to live music or just relax - the bar up the stairs at Royalton and the main square are gorgeous places to sit and lovely to see so many people having a good time but we never felt uncomfortable with keeping distance due to covid. The beach is gorgeous, sea great for swimming in (strong undertow so be careful with children), never felt hassled by sellers on the beach and felt safe at all times. Fully recommend!

This was our second time at this resort. We stayed originally for two weeks in June 2022. At that time we were introduced to the most amazing staff and that is the reason we returned to this particular resort in October. Our butler, Jonathan Melo, made sure that we had everything that we needed. By the end of that first trip, he felt more like family than he did an employee at the resort. Odil and Francesca in the Diamond Club ensured that our check-in was smooth, that we always had a drink in hand, and always greeted us with a smile. Toward the end of our trip we met Martin who made sure that our luggage (and us) got on the right transportation for our reluctant return to the airport. In October, all of our friends were there to meet us and we met new ones as well. Jesus at Zen always referred to us as his familia. Jesus at the Diamond Club pull saved our seats each morning, knew what drinks we wanted and brought them to us, and always brought us burgers and hot dogs for lunch. The staff at the splash park are equally amazing and ensure that your family is safe while being in the wave pool, going down the slides, or even just walking through the area. The resort itself is not too large that you can't walk through it and if you don't feel like waiting on the tram, you can also walk to the Punta Cana side. Vacationing here with our family is no longer about just our immediate family, it is also about our extended family that now includes the amazing people we have met during our two trips here. We can't wait to come back here again.

Words cannot even begin to express just how much we enjoyed our stay at the Royalton Splash Punta Cana. Our family of 4 (2 teens) stayed 7 days and we went the extra mile and purchased Diamond Club, which gave us 100% access to everything at the neighboring Royalton Punta Cana resort. From the beautifully manicured grounds, to the clean and comfortable rooms, pristine pools, and delicious food and drinks, here is just a taste of our experience: I will start with our "butler" experience, which is one of the many Diamond Club perks. Our butler's name was JOHNNY, and he made our entire trip worry-free! We never had to worry about reservations, all I had to do was tell him where we wanted to eat dinner that day and he had us booked within minutes! We felt like VIP's walking ahead of the line-ups and being seated before everyone. We ate at Mexicana Cantina, Jade, Zen (Teppanyaki) and Gratzi. Special shout out to JUAN LUIS and KAMILLA at Bella Cucina where we enjoyed breakfast. The Beans cafe was the perfect spot for our morning coffee. Every single restaurant was delicious! Huge portions, way too big for us, but I get that others appreciate that. When we ran low on towels, all I had to do was send Johnny a text (download WhatsApp before you go) and we had towels within minutes. Never had to ask to have the mini bar in our room stocked, as the housekeeping staff were on top of that. He even hepled us make our son, who is on the Autism spectrum, comfortable on the last day by arranging a late checkout. We were very happy with Johnny's service. I will be requesting him personally next time. Next, I need to tell you about the main pool & bar at the Splash resort. WILLY, JUAN, ELI, AND ELIAS truely made us feel like family! The drinks were great everywhere, but they were the most delicious at the main pool bar. The staff there would surprise you with a special cocktail without even asking for one! Willy made a special connection with my husband, and they were like brothers before we left. We will never forget the connection we made with these people. We would start our day at the DC pool because it was quiet, and there was always plenty of chairs waiting for you with a rolled towel on it. JOSE is the main server at the DC pool and he was always smiling and had a drink ready for us. He would also personally bring us a snack upon request. One day, when it was especially hot, he brought everyone ice cold wet towels! By the time made our way to the main pool in the afternoon, the party was in full swing and there were plenty of empty chairs. The foam party and pool games were a blast! You could even request your favorite songs. Walking to the connecting Royalton Punta Cana resort is not as bad as some make it out to be. It's a short 5-10 min walk, with lots of beautiful scenery and animals to look at on the way. The beach was beautiful, but the water was wild because it was pretty windy every day. The pools at that resort were always packed, so we spent most of our time at Splash. However, our teen liked the "party vibe" at the Royalton Punta Cana. He spent most of his nights there connecting with people his age. You truly have the best of both worlds! I'll end it here by saying that all-inclusive resorts are what YOU make them. If you are friendly, curtious, and treat people with respect, you will get the same in return, Diamond Club or not. It also doesn't hurt to learn a few basic Spanish words to help with communication. We made soo many connections with staff and other visitors, and we will cherish those memories forever. We met a women that was on her 24th trip to this resort! That should tell you all you need to know. Thanks for the memories, Royalton Splash Punta Cana! See you again soon!!!

We had a fantastic time here at the resort. Food was good, people where great. Even though the resorts are spread out it’s not a far walk to the beach. The water park is for all ages such a relaxing great time. Once down here enjoy the excursions they have. This truly is a beautiful country. From bartenders to maids. Everyone was very professional, a shout out to Juan, Willy, Elias, Elibonia, Roberto, Rosa and Alexis. Just name a few of the staff members that went above and beyond. Warm smiles warm hearts. We certainly revisit for sure.

Upon arriving at the resort this was not the welcome we expected, there was no-one to welcome us, no drink offered after a long journey as a family; 2 children aged 22 months & 5. After eventually checking in by the miserable receptionist we had to make our own way to the room on shuttle (no direction or help given), along with guessing which stop we needed to stop at with zero help, to find it was on the second floor with no lift. Before arriving at the resort I requested a ground floor room due to our youngest still in a pram. During the night of arrival the room above were having a very large and loud party. My partner had to complain at 230am to reception who did not understand what she was saying/ explaining/ pointless & frustrating call. In the morning we asked to move due to room on 2nd floor, as it was not ideal for the pram and 2 child, along with the noise. To be told this can only happen after the locals have left around 430pm on Sunday.. This did not happen until 6pm at our prompts of ringing reception numerous times... Eventually I was told to go to reception and we were moved to a ground floor room (perfect!)  Only to our disappointment that it had one bed in, along with a unsanitary sofa bed and no extea bedding. My partner Milton wiped the sofa bed but I could see the frustration and upset building up. The room also smelt very strange. In my head all I kept thinking was that I did not pay thousands for us to break our backs on a sofa bed or squeeze 4 people into a double bed. This was not acceptable. My partner walked to reception to complain once again, by this time the kids were very hungry and getting impatient as it was getting later into the evening. Final move, the room much better but the safe and telephone did not work. Both were reported; only the telephone was fixed. The safe did not work throughout our stay. Our room began to smell of paint throughout our stay to which we reported to reception, and again communication was very difficult however two workers eventually arrived, 1 with a bottle of fluid to which he sprayed around the room, leaving it very wet & slippy. I was dumbfounded, the other worker opened up a coffee pod sachet and put this in the a/c unit! This was worrying as the smell originally smelt like paint fumes; which were just masked with their poor efforts! We have to young children and this could be very dangerous to be exposed to such fumes. Throughout our stay my partner experienced some bites to her abdomen, these were not single bites like you'd expect from a mosquito and were very painful in clusters. These have been examined upon our return home by the Doctor and these are bed bug bites! We did find a few little insects on the bed but we did not know what they were. We removed these with tissue. There is an agreement with the hotel to which your advertisement does not state; locals are allowed to use the hotel and facilities Friday to Sunday; we found out that the government subsidised this during covid for locals at a very low rate. We have no issue with this however what we do have an issue with is that we become invisible to workers during their stay. The locals are very rude, loud and shout on corridors, slam doors during all hours, parties in the rooms until the middle of the early hours and the shuttle is almost impossible to get on. The food at Sections changed for the better; but come Monday it was very European basic food to which you never made a meal out of. Weekends were very busy, locals arrived by coach after coach. Over taking pool, shuttle and restaurant spaces, breakfast buffet at Selections - queues were huge. Room service took hours if received at all, if received - cold and you would not eat this unless you were starving! The kids club was appalling and to be even called a kids club is ridiculous! The staff do not watch the children, even though you can sign them in under their care! I watched them and they basically sit their on their telephones behind the desk or talk amongst one another. Very rarely entering the main building to check on the children's wellbeing. I do not recommend you leave your children under their 'supervision.' There are no toys other than some grotty ball pit balls and less than a handful of building bricks. The colouring section is full of used papers and broken parts of crayons. It was dirty and needs to be investigated. Again we found on a weekend the kids club put on various bouncy castles or the odd craft table around the pool by block 28. This was mainly for locals children for sure because come Monday - Thursday it was none existent. The splash park is very basic if you are under 120cm.. Our son of five years old could only use the small section of the area but adults were not allowed to join in or use these so you can not have fun together. We bought two plug adapters from the resort sho, to our disappointment one did not work. So I took this back to the shop with my receipt to be told this was not their problem?! My partner bought suncream for our children but accidentally bought 'baby' as she couldn't see 'kids' however seconds later when leaving she saw the kids cream in the window and asked to swap, bearing in mind she had just purchased it. Again, rudely she was told no swapping or refund! The staff definitely need to work on their customer service. The hotel is not a 4.5 star as advertised, I am extremely shocked that it is listed as this, it is barely a 3 star. It is dirty, very dated, the staff are extremely rude. They do not even attempt to speak English and act oblivious if you try and have a conversation or ask for help which comes across very rude. Service is not what you would expect at all. You were very lucky to be asked if you would a drink with your meal at Selections buffet. And even if they did ask you your order it was 90% of the time forgotten. Drinks were not replenished in the mini bar unless you spotted Guest services on the corridor. This was not acceptable especially when bottled water was only avaliable at Beans Cafe as and when they had taken a delivery. We all have experienced upset stomach's for the majority of our stay. Which as you can imagine has been very unpleasant with small children. We attempted 3 or 4 times to eat over at Jade, to be told each time there was no tables and we had to wait but the wait time was very long as 10 other tables were infront of us - we were told originally you cannot reserve tables. However if you were in Diamond club you can and if you wanted to get in queue for a table you can but you can go wherever you like and they'll hold the table for you!? This was unacceptable. We looked in the restaurant and there were around 5 empty tables which we could have filled one and left by the time one of these 10 arrived... We were not allowed to eat over at the Gourmet buffet unless Selections was closed. This became very frustrating for us with two children, if we went to the beach for the day it meant travelling back over to the splash side by shuttle just for some food unless you wanted burgers & fries every day the Pizzeria by the beach was hit & miss when it was open for lunch. Our daughter who is 22 months old experienced a very high temperature around 5 days in, we kept her hydrated and administered calpol but my partner was worried and went to see the medic in the morning as our daughters temperature had reached 40c. The medic told her that she would not see her as we had administered medicine, however we know temperatures in small children are very dangerous and luckily we managed to keep it at bay after 2 days but this is appalling and very worrying should others need medical attention. On our last day - which was a Friday we waited 20 minutes for a shuttle to arrive. Which didn't. We had to walk blocks in the heat back to reception to check out. This was the straw which broke the camels back! We were then told by the worker on reception that we owed $570 for lobster!!! This was absolutely barbaric.  We had not eaten said lobster and we never dined in Hunters or Zen (which were an extra fee. This was not stated when we booked.) The worker told me I had to speak with another worker, who was currently on a call. I approached the gentleman who had no idea what I had been sent to him for. I explained and he picked up the phone to speak with someone. I was left unsure what was happening and our taxi was due to arrive at any moment. I asked what was happening to be told the chef was coming to identify if I had, had the lobster. By this point my patience was wearing thin. My children were hot and the stress of this had given my partner migraine.  Our taxi arrived to which I told Reception I was leaving however they would not release my bags; these were kept in a room?! I asked when the Chef was arriving but both colleagues were very unhelpful. Lots of shoulder shrugs, lack of English and blatant rudeness. I asked to speak to manager which I have asked lots of times during our stay to be told he was over at the other side of the resort. Very convenient again. After a further 15 minutes, I was told I was 'good' and given a check out ticket. No apology whatsoever! This absolutely summed up the service for me, shambles! Now I am not sure what price lobster goes at because we did not have it but $570 worth of lobster??? Come on! This is not a Royalton hotel and it definitely does not meet expectations that you'd expect for the money! We were told numerous times that the hotel was a Memories hotel; by taxis & Airport staff - this makes sense! The Tui rep was never at reception each time we attempted to discuss our concerns, each time in broken English we were told they had left for the day or that they were at the other side of the resort. Overall what should have been a wonderful memorable holiday has been a disappointment and memorable for the wrong reasons. It is very disappointing and I am utterly shocked that this resort can be so falsely advertised.

The Royalton Splash was a great place for our family vacation. We enjoyed the many pools, beach and water park. Easy access to everything either by walking or tram. Mirta did great as one of the fitness instructors. From Yoga to TRX to water aerobics, it was easy to follow along. So much fun to work out with fun people and such a beautiful view around you. The people working were friendly and helpful. Definitely the right amount of options for people of all ages.

Here are the "pros and cons" travelers should consider (1) The facility is nice. The waterpark is outstanding and good for both adults and children who enjoy water parks. (2) There are multiple restaurants with food quality on par with what you would expect for a upper mid to higher end all inclusive resort. (3) Beach area is nice (4) Where they fall short is in some service areas. At the pool and beach areas there are very limited numbers of waiters who walk around and take drink or food orders. You pretty much need to walk to the bar yourself to get a drink. This was a disappointment. (5) They have a sister hotel with a shuttle between the two properties. The shuttle can get over-crowded at times. They really need more shuttle capacity. Overall I think this place has potential to be even better if they would just hire some additional staff. This place is NOT a party place if thats what you are looking for - there are going to be better options for that.
