This is a very pretty property with an engaging owner, Michel Rossier, and his small but hard-working and welcoming team. Michel gave us lots of advice via e-mail prior to our arrival at the property where he greeted us warmly with a drink and a personal tour. His English is superb. The grounds are lovely and well tended. The rooms...

We have just spent a wonderful holiday at this Hotel. The owner Michel is a wonderful host, although he did make fun of my poor use of French but his English is perfect. The cabins are wonderful and the restaurant offers wonderful food, and the staff are very friendly.

This is a small hotel that is peaceful and has everything that you could possibly need or want for a relaxing vacation. The rooms are simply furnished, no frills, but very spacious and clean. There is a charming breakfast area next to a pool. The hotel restaurant serves very tasty food and is open almost every day for lunch and...

My wife and I stayed here at the end of January 2015. All the praise that has been heaped on this hotel is fully justified. Michel is a charming host, the rooms are clean and spacious and the restaurant is excellent value for money. We only went out to dinner when the restauraunt had its weekly day off, and although...

We stayed for 2 weeks at this lovely little hotel and cannot praise it highly enough. The rooms were very comfortable, clean and spacious with bathrooms and toilets that really worked, with plenty of hot water. We had a bungalow with its own kitchen, but the rooms in the original house were just as good. The patron, Michel, was a...

Good hotel, nice room, big pool, excellent restaurant, quiet area near beaches. Only down-side: a bit out-of-the way for those who want to tour the island, but nearby St Francois is an interesting town with good restaurants. Also Haute Terre is dryer/sunnier than Basse Terre & much of the rest of the Caribbean. A side trip to Les Santes is...

Stayed one week with my spouce and 9 month baby. Warm welcoming by owner Michel. A truly helpful and service minded host. Speaks good English which was very helpful for us with high school class French only. Bungalow simple "what you need" but daily cleaned and great to have a kitchenette in the back to prepare food. All staff in...

My husband and I traveled to Guadeloupe for the first time recently. We read the reviews for Hostellerie des Chateaux and thought it sounded perfect for a couple of Americans hitting a French Caribbean Island. Michel, the proprietor, and his staff are amazing. They are patient and helpful. Michel waited up for us - we arrived late on our first...

We stumbled across this place whilst driving around the Island. We were in luck as we had the last room available. We were in Petite - Terre which is a lovely spacious room right next to the Restaurant, with great bath, however on closer inspection the floor was badly marked, there were cracks in walls and peeling paint and varnish....

In late April (2013), my wife and I spent a relaxing week at Hostellerie des Chateaux. Michel, the proprietor, treats all his guests with warmth and provides help or assistance with planning trips to local destinations and activities. One of the big advantages of staying at the Hostellerie des Chateaux is that Michel is fluent in French and English (and...
