We stayed at club riu negril 8th December for 2 weeks and overall had a great holiday. Having stayed at Riu hotels before I was saddened to see this wasn't up to their usually good standards. The pool area wasn't as clean as it should...More

My family, six of us in total- our parents and 4 of us ages between 22-24) stayed at the ClubHotel Riu Negril from December 31 to January 7, 2013. We also were worried about going, as some of the reviews were quite negative. I HAVE...More

In addition to this bay beach, walk or taxi a little farther to the beginning of the 7 mile beach. Walk it and you won't be disappointed from the variety of Jamaican and tourist life of bars, restaurants, sights and sounds!

We always take Jamaican dollars as I feel you get a better deal. We were recently given a price for a round of 5 drinks and it worked out over £4 cheaper to have paid in Jamaican rather then US $. It's a short taxi ride to 7 mile beach and you could then go on further to Ricks café and from the hotel that would be $50. The Bob Sled is round the other side of the island so at least a 3 hrs drive each way, but you could fit that in with Dunns River Falls. I'm not sure on the price but we did Chukka Cove which is the same area. Zip lining, tubing and buggy rides and that was £470 for 2 adults and 2 children. There are some really nice water falls closer by that you could go too if you didn't want to go so fall. YS Falls are beautiful but a less commercial one is Venture Falls.

From my experience there is no guarantee, you get assigned a room based on what is available on the day. We were a part of 16 with 8 rooms and we were spread across 4 buildings, different floors and none of our rooms a stone throw away. We requested the preference on booking and on arrival and the attitude toward us was basically we have to take what we get.
