We wanted to stay near older part of San Juan before we left on our cruise. We stayed on a Saturday. We checked in,first sign was they didnt have ice,ok no problem. The pillows are about the size of a maxi pad, dont ask for more because they didnt have any more available. Our second night was on a Sunday, balcony sweet that you dont dare step out on. First sign was he had to go get the elevator, last date of inspection was 2007. Still no ice for my soda that I just got across the street, which was closed he said so they couldn't buy ice. Waking up to head home from our vacation, got in the shower at a point it got **warm** for it instantly go to ice cold. Had to finish by shutting off the water then turning it back on. We even checked the sink and no warm water.. I was over with this Bates Motel.

I didn't think this hotel deserved an average rating. I was disappointed. It may have just been our room. It had a bad musty/sewerage smell. We stayed 2 nights and didn't remove our clothes from suitcase. When we got to the next destination all our clothes had that same smell. They are in the process of remodeling a few rooms at a time. I will say it is in a perfect spot in the middle of Old San Juan. We felt very safe roaming the streets even at night.

First of all, the location is amazing. The middle of Old San Juan calls for you to step right out side the front doors. And step out you should, because this place is only intended to be where you take a shower, turn off the lights, and sleep in a room with potentially no windows. It is clean, but older (I did mention it was in OLD San Juan, right?) and has a bit of a “you get what you pay for feel.” But seriously, stay here, just don’t stay IN here. We used it as place to crash out after a red eye flight to NYC followed by our flight San Juan. And we slept very well with the AC on in total darkness. Check in is at 3, out is at noon, leaving us lots of time to explore. And they held our bags for free before we took off to board our cruise. It is not the Ritz, but we left feeling rested and clean, so a win in our book.

It was sufficient for what I booked it for. We stayed the night before our Carnival Cruise docked. We got there after Midnight and we had no problems checking in. The elevator was broke however, the guy at the desk carried the heavy bags up for us.

The accommodations here are very basic. The interior rooms have no windows; the lights in my room were either obnoxiously bright or too dim. The shower was difficult as the pressure was very low and lacked temperature regulation. However, I will say the staff were very friendly and helpful during the stay. You could not ask for a better location in Old San Juan. You are literally less than 10 minutes walking from almost every major place you would want to visit. As many other reviews have stated, you do get what you pay for; however, if you are just looking for a place to crash as you explore the town, I would recommend giving this place a try.

We thought it was great fun. I read all the reviews and took it all in to consideration when I booked. To me is sounded like many of the European hotels I had visited; quirky but with history. One of the comments was the elevator- which yes is small but we got us in and all our luggage and it worked every time; just follow the instructions. We booked what they called the King suite due the window comment and we had a nice size room, and door and small balcony that overlook the plaza- we could not leave the doors open as they was no glass or screen but not a big deal. I love the sounds of the communities we stay in- in the morning street traffic- flower vendors, at night live music in the plaza. Air conditioner- worked great. Ice machine comment- no, there is not one- the desk had ice for us whenever we needed it . Most important location~ wonderful, since it is in the heart of old San Juan we walked everywhere and discovered some real treasures that other wise we would not have seen- the taxi stand was right across the street so the times we needed it- no problem. When we had a issue; towels whatever it was taken care for immediately. The coffee shop, which is not part of the hotel, was good way to start our day for breakfast. We had great fun, location was perfect. We would go back. It is not the "Hilton or Marriott" and we were thankful for that. The only real issue( which as you can tell isn't huge) was I wrote the hotel before our trip for information and they did not respond. All in all we had a great time. Explore where you are!

The location of this hotel was great. Right in the heart of El Viejo San Juan. The room was small and there was no window which was really weird to me. The parking lot is far from the hotel but I guess you can take a nice walk and enjoy the beauty of the island and the colorful houses of San Juan.

You can’t get closer than this in the heart of the old San Juan. It’s a small hotel good size room staff was really helpful and friendly. Price is very reasonable. Place was clean bed was comfortable. perfect place to stay if you are going on a cruise or just wanna be next or near to everything. Cabs are right in front of hotel, shops rest museums and much more. Staff provided extra inflated matress for the kids in one of the bigger rooms. Recommend hotel. Small antique elevator bathroom in lobby for guest and a good coffee shop.

Let’s start off by saying this hotel is definitely affordable but as they say, you get what you pay for. We were just going to stay in San Juan for a few nights and wanted to stay close to all the sights. This popped up with a cheaper rate compared to other hotels and we soon found out why. We got an interior room which meant no windows so you feel very enclosed in a small space. There are two temp settings, cold and muggy. If you don’t have the AC on, it’s hot and nasty but if you leave it on, it gets cold quick. The toilet ran the entire night and it can get rather noisy with doors slamming and people making noise. This is right in the center of Old San Juan so it is convenient to walk everywhere and there are plenty of food choices in close proximity. Choose wisely.
