Beautiful room, located right by the beach, unbeatable value, tons of little extras (free movie, cooler, and boogie board rentals/ipod docks in every room/three different wifi routers so you always get a strong signal/ and much more) and super nice proprietors who really go out of their way to make sure you feel welcomed and have a good time.

Coqui Del Mar was perfect for our family with 2 teens and 1 college kid. We stayed in El Sol for the week which was more than enough room for the 5 of us. Everything you could possibly need for the beach was provided. (Beach chairs, boogie boards, beach towels, bikes, etc.) Location is perfect. Beach right around the corner....

As soon as I arrived at el Coqui with my friend who met me in San Juan's airport I loved the neighborhood. I have stayed in the Ocean Park area before but never in this part. Noyda was outside and we exchanged pleasantries and she welcomed us. We were fortunate that even though we arrived at midday the hotel room...

Staying at Coqui del Mar guest house was a relaxing way to begin our vacation in eastern Puerto Rico. Just a block away from a nice beach and not far from San Juan proper or any number of restaurants and a very good supermarket, you can't beat the convenience. Most of all, Noyda and Neil were proper hosts: attentive, accommodating,...

We stayed in the El Sol guest house and could not have had a better experience! The cost was very reasonable and the staff incredibly helpful and friendly! Only a 1 minute walk to the water and within walking distance to some fantastic food.

My girlfriend and I stayed in El Pescado for two nights in June. We agonized between splurging for a more expensive resort hotel in San Juan or doing something local and quirky like Coqui Del Mar--we're so glad we went with Coqui! The resorts all had hidden fees and we honestly couldn't even figure out exactly what we'd have to...

As soon as we arrived Noyda was there to greet us and gave us plenty of tips; she was amazing and extremely helpful! The amenities were awesome, take full advantage of them. We stood in El Pescado great for 4 people; full kitchen, big fridge, AC n fans, a true home away from home, in my case the decor is...

After extensive research (especially on tripadvisor) a teacher friend and I chose Coquí del Mar for our 3-day stay in San Juan. I was very impressed with the many positive reviews of this lovely place, and of Rob's, Noyda's, and Neal's attentiveness to the guests. Not only the owner, Rob, but his Innkeepers Noyda and Neal, were very quick to...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
If you want to experience Puerto Rico like a local while still having all the conveniences of home, this is your place. We make you feel at home. You have private personal space (all rooms have private kitchens and private bathrooms), while in a beach side neighborhood setting away from the crowded tourist areas. You will experience some of the best Puerto Rico has to offer while living like a local, visiting the restaurants frequently visited by locals (no chain restaurants near us). We are in the Ocean Park beach area of San Juan, in between Old San Juan and the international airport. We are 3 minutes walk to the nearest beach. Ocean Park beach is one of the locals's favoites, and also a preferred spot for kite surfing and windsurfers. We are 5 minutes walk to the tourist bus route (which goes to the casinos and to Old San Juan) and walkable to restaurants and grocery stores. Each of our units have full kitchen, free WiFi, cable TV/DVD, Apple TV, in room safes, and an Ipod player. We strive to provide more than expected, and I think you will find that with us, from the beach chairs, or bicycles to the in room safes, there are never extra charges. One of the best things about us is our live in management, Noyda and Neal, who call Coqui del Mar home and welcome you as if it is your home as well. They are local experts and can help you find a great restaurant, plan a special event, or enjoy a chat. Our courtyard, bar-b-que and jacuzzi are great for meeting other guests. If you are looking for personal service and a unique, eco-friendly (we have solar hot water supplemented by electric, ceiling fans supplemented by ACs, and offer recycling), and a clean guest house for a reasonable price, then check us out. We are not a Marriott and offer our own unique sense of quirky and intimate Puerto Rico. Come join us. *Our free parking is on a public street in front of our location. Not difficult to find a spot, but it is not designated parking for our guest house and is open to all. * Airport transportation acknowledges that there is taxi service from the airport. **Free parking is on street parking ... more   less
