Our family of 5 stayed here for 2 nights. We were given the upstairs bedroom. The adjoining room was also given for our use. Hilda is very welcoming and treats you like family. Kids enjoyed playing with her dog and the cats walking around. We couldn't stay for the ceremony others have referred to. The house and amenities are very...

La Paloma is a wonderful place ; we are so lucky to have found it. It is quite literally a 'home away from home'. Nilda went so far out of her way to help us ; by cooking us wonderful local food, helping us with excursions (and then sending someone along with us) and having coconuts pulled from her trees....

So, let's start by saying that this place is amazing. I mean, it's a private room with AC and enormous bed and private bathroom with a POOL overlooking the RAINFOREST. Done. But, beyond this place being great in itself, the big reason why you need to stay here is NILDA. Nilda is your hostess and she is truly Mother Earth...

My son and I stayed with Nilda for 5 night of our 7 night trip to Puerto Rico. We had an amazing experience here. If you are someone who likes a luxury hotel, then this is probably not for you, but if you like to get off the beaten path and learn about the people who live in the place...

As we were pulling up I saw Nilda standing in front of her house with the gate open for us. We had called from just down the road to let her know we were close. I waved at her and she returned it with a warm smile and spread her arms in welcome. She gave my wife, 2 sons and...

We loved staying here. We had so much fun Nilda and her husband were amazing hosts. We enjoyed breakfast with the hosts every morning while we mapped out our days adventures. When we returned in the evening dinner was prepared for us (pay extra and tip well please!) The room was fine, the view was amazing and the pool a...

Nelda welcomes her guests with open arms and you get a completely authentic perspective on rural life in Puerto Rico, in a beautiful setting that's convenient to the rain forest and to the eastern part of the island. She has a big heart and is happy to share her love of the island, its history and customs, with helpful recommendations...

You learn a lot about the native Puerto Ricans, the Taino, as the hospital runs monthly gatherings. She treated us like family and we were served breakfast and lunch with with more then enough home cooked food for everyone. There is a futon and a king sized bed which comfortably fit the four of us. In the morning the grandson...

This place was a lot easier to access than I thought and Nilda is a fantastic host. Great bbq dinner and the beaches are very close. Surrounded by the lush forests. Wonderful stay. She lent us towels to use a resort beach. Funny!
