This is in many ways a wonderful hotel and I would return to it. It is in a superb location with a small almost private beach and several other lovely beaches within a very short walk. The collection of flats, hotels, shops, restaurants and cafes within about 5 minutes walk is excellent and you can get a ferry to Fort...

HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW

The Hotel Bakoua is in a great location - close to many restaurants and shops. It also has a lovely beach, great water sports, and a few restaurants. The room itself was clean and nice. The hotel offers free parking and is secure - behind a gate. We rented a car so it was a bit difficult to locate at...

We were in a superior room with a large Veranda opening right on the Sandy beach with an Easy accessible access to swim in a warm and limpid water. The swimming pool and the restaurant overlook the Beautiful bay of Fort De France. The breakfast is fabulous but for dinner, however excellent, the choice is too limited. There are a lot of...

We stayed at another local hotel and wanted to see how the Bakoua stacked up. The Hotel has beautiful grounds with its infinity pool, and beach. The bilingual reception staff was very pleasant along with the florist. We stopped by later in the evening to enjoy a renown dance troupe and have dinner. The Dance troupe was fabulous however, the...

If you speak a bit of French, this is a lovely escape with direct flights from NYC or Boston via Norwegian Air. The Fort-de France airport is tiny, efficient and a only a half hour away. The Bakoua and Trios Islets probably saw its heyday a few decades ago, but that only makes the intimate scale of this resort and...

We chose this hotel because of the beach location and it didn't disappoint us. The website pictures don't do this place justice. The room was spacious, clean and had all the amenities. It was convenient walking just a few steps each beautiful morning out of our room and onto the lovely beach. Cruisers were allowed on the beach for a...

My family stayed for a week in this four star hotel on the bay about a half-hour from the airport. Les Tres Ilets is a lovely and historic village across the bay from the capital, Fort de France. The breakfast buffet is extensive, the lunch and dinner restaurants are pricey. Creole Village is a short walk away and has a...

I'll begin with a few comments about Martinique. Be on notice that this is France....we had an easier time communicating in Paris. For de France doesn't offer a lot, and cabs are very expensive. That last point is a major plus for Hotel Bakoua...location. Several good restaurants, shopping and boat to FDF a 10 minute walk. Despite some quirks. we...

Yes, updates are needed to the property--there is quite a bit of deferred maintenance although not enough to make one choose another property. The location and grounds are lovely, the rooms overlooking the beach very clean and comfortable. The common open air dining rooms overlooking the ocean are wonderfully authentique. The over the top aspect of the hotel is their...

I cannot say enough good things about Hotel Bakoua. The moment we arrived we knew we were in paradise! We stayed in one of the oceanfront rooms and it was wonderful. The views were phenomenal! There was a nice villa you could sit in and still be shaded but see the ocean. There were nice chairs for laying out. I...
