The Ladera Wellness Garden tour allows guests to experience the fruit and spices served in Dasheene and the fauna of St. Lucia. The wellness gym with a magnificent view of the Caribbean Sea and Pitons, exclusive Ladera onsite hikes along the volcanic ridge, tours of the wellness garden, the carpentry shop and yoga are enjoyed complimentary at the resort and are only available to Ladera overnight guests. For adventure on St. Lucia guests enjoy Ziplining, Horseback Riding, Hikes to the top of the Pitons, Boat Rides with Snorkeling, ATVing, mud baths and Sulphur Springs. Ladera Resort St. Lucia is the perfect setting for honeymoons, weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, adventures, wellness and just relaxing and watching the sunset. Ladera is the pioneer of the open air three-walled concept in St. Lucia and has since been distinguished by a wide range of international publications, awards and accolades from Conde Nast Traveler, Travel + Leisure, Forbes Life Caribbean Travel and Life, Brides Magazine and countless others. Ladera was once part of Rabot Estate, one of Soufriere's oldest plantations, which still borders the resort. In the late 1960's a parcel of land was sold and developed into a small cluster of condominiums and christened Dasheene, named after the thousands of large, glossy-leafed dasheen plants (also known as elephant ears) harvested on the site. In 1982 it was transformed into a unique resort and changed hands a number of times before emerging as Ladera under the current private ownership. The mission has always been to offer an unparalleled guest experience that is quintessentially Saint Lucian, one that embraces the magnificent views and offers harmony with the surrounding natural beauty and rich bounty of the island. Today, that commitment to sumptuous authenticity is evident in everything from the innovative renderings of fresh local dishes at Dasheene restaurant, to the use of Caribbean timbers, stone and tile work used in the guestrooms and public areas. Yet it shines through most effectively with warm and welcoming Saint Lucian staff.

Hotel's Favourite
My husband and I spent 2 nights at Ladera during our trip to St. Lucia, and it was the highlight of our trip! The staff is so incredibly friendly, even noting when I mentioned once that mangos were my favorite fruit and making sure I had a fresh mango with my breakfast every morning! We stayed in a Hillside suite and were amazed at the well thought out architecture and attention to detail (the binoculars for watching birds and water gun were a fun touch!).. Having one wall open to incredible views was so unique, relaxing and still afforded total privacy. It was nice to just get away from the busyness of life and take in the sights and sounds of the rainforest and Caribbean. I would describe it as a very romantic, relaxing and intimate experience. The grounds are stunning!!! Beautiful plants with local fruit trees, spices and herbs growing on the property along with hummingbird feeders throughout. The Dasheen restaurant has the most beautiful views I’ve ever seen for a restaurant (both Pitons are visible), and the food is absolutely delicious. We also went to their state of the art gym and enjoyed amazing views while working out. The staff has done well at subtly putting in the COVID-19 safety protocols as required by the St. Lucian government and made it a very pleasant stay. We were able to book a private snorkeling excursion from the property. It seems water activities are open but land activities are still limited due to COVID.! I can’t recommend this place more highly.

Dear Jessica A, Thank you very much for staying with us. It was a pleasure meeting you. I agree with you, Ladera sits on the top of a volcanic reef allowing for the best views of the amazing Pitons. You really feel like you are touching them. At Ladera Resort the well being of our employees and guest is our highest mission. That is why we created the AngelFish Team. It is responsible of ensuring all COVID-19 protocols are followed while still providing our legendary Ladera service. I am glad you enjoyed your stay with us. Hopefully we get to meet you soon again. warmest regards, Christian

My wife and I stayed at Ladera for our honeymoon in January 2021. Every interaction we had with the staff was amazing the entire duration of our stay. Our butler, Vi, was especially great. He went above and beyond to make our stay at Ladera special from giving us tips about the island to proactively making our dinner reservations. The entire restaurant staff was awesome; always timely and kind in serving us. Chef Nigel was amazing. The food at Dasheene was some of the best I’ve had anywhere. The chef even made us a small, special dish for our last night. Caroline at concierge was also super helpful when booking our excursions. Every receptionist we interacted with was great too. Rosemarie, our housekeeper, did an incredible job of cleaning and organizing our room as well. We stayed in a hilltop dream suite and it was incredible. The heated pool in room was great to relax in while taking in the view of the Pitons. Ladera’s nature trail was really nice. The views of the Pitons, especially the Petite Piton, on this trail were really breathtaking. In terms of excursions, the sunset sail and Gros Piton hike organized through the resort were amazing and 100% worth the money. Hiking the Piton is a lot of work but well worth it once you take in the view at the top. Due to COVID, the resort shuttles you to the nearby Malgretoute Beach instead of Sugar beach. I think this is a blessing in disguise as it is more of an authentic St. Lucian beach opposed to the overdeveloped and artificial sands of Sugar Beach. The snorkeling under the Piton on Malgretoute was amazing; much better than the more famous Ante Chastenet snorkeling spots. Overall, I thought the resort also did a great job in terms of taking safety precautions related to COVID. We felt safe the entire time. We hope to one day visit the resort again during normal times. Here’s to a better 2021 and life at Ladera returning to normal for all of their hard working employees!

My husband and I just had a five night stay at Ladera for our honeymoon and it could not have been any more amazing. The resort is exquisite and the views are truly unbelievable. The staff is beyond attentive - everywhere we went, they knew who we were, and were there to assist us. Every day the staff would check in to make sure we had everything we needed and would make our dinner reservation! We could not have felt more comfortable traveling during covid - everything is outside given the warm temperature and the rooms have their own private pools! The staff all wore masks as well and sanitizers were set up around the property. There were also temperature checks We have never been so well taken care of, and the staff at Ladera were the friendliest people. Everyone was incredible, we even met the chef and general manager who went out of his way to make sure we had a great stay. The food was also unbelievable, every dish for breakfast, lunch and dinner was delicious. Many of the ingredients were locally sourced too. And you still have an amazing view from the restaurant between both pitons. Yvette at the front desk made us feel right at home. The hike on the property had a great view from the top. Our stay was worth every penny. Did I mention the private pool overlooking the water?! We will definitely make a return to Ladera one day!

We booked a trip to Sandals purely due to simplicity in Covid (not our usual thing) but then managed to extend the trip and go to Ladera and Fond Doux so three very different experiences. Ladera is simply stunning and very unique. Nothing can prepare you for waking into the rooms and seeing the ‘open wall’ set-up. So bear in mind that you are ‘inside/outside’ and will get nature noises but it’s beautiful. The team were superb - Janelle, Lorne, Christian, Caroline, Isha, Alisha, Cindy, Tenderly, the lovely guy at the pool (sorry if I have missed anyone you are all fab!). Superb customer service on a late booking and a room change we needed. Do not miss!
