I had a chance to stop by the hotel since I was in country the day before to confirm things because I was told about the renovation and the slow low season mentality. I was really glad I did cause the room I had reserved was not available and they had me downgraded to a motel style room. When I...

I have the pleasure of eating at the restaurant. I have rested in the rooms and the internet is excellent. Located right in the heart of Philipsburg. The best of two worlds one side you have shopping and the other is the beach, what more can you ask for.

The staff here are wonderful, the hotel itself is in a prime location with great views, and the rooms are bigger than the small price tag would indicate. We accidentally left an item in our room - after checking out - with a large sum of cash. We called after we realized what had happened - about 2 hours after...

We stayed in this hotel for three nights, and our suite was amazing. There was a large seating area with a comfortable three seater chair. The other furniture was lovely, and the four poster bed complete with mosquito net was superb and most comfortable. The view from the balcony overlooking the marina and beach walkway was second to none. Unfortunately...

This hotel allows itself to be listed on every travel site with rooms available only to have minimum stays and no rooms available . A confusing and unethical practice for advertising. Shame on management for wasting people's time with this practice.

Our friends from (IL) stopped in FL 4 a visit with us on their WY 2 SXM. They stayed @ Pasaggrahan Hotel on front street. They were lucky 2 get an upgrade to a suite in the new section. Only 1 word can describe the room "Luxurious". Great ocean view off the balcony. When they opened the curtains there in...

Small hotel located in center of town on fFront street. Rooms in old section clean adequate but showing signs of wear. Hotel personnel very friendly and go above and beyond to provide service. Low season now so very quiet dining room closed from now until the end of September only open for breakfast. Great hotel for short stay . Beach...

You enter through the portal that once greeted Her Majesty, the Queen of The Netherlands and are faced with the view of the beach of Great Bay. Our room's veranda opened to that sweeping view of beach, ocean and distant cruise ship terminal. Below us was a walkway that embraced the beach's arched reaches. Our breakfasts were delicious and graciously...

I have stayed at this hotel many times and love it. It has nice views and is convenient to all of the shops in Philipsburg. The entire staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very nice and newly renovated. I stay there for a few days every time I go to SXM. The rates are also very good.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
"The Pasanggrahan Royal Guesthouse is St. Maarten's oldest and most charming inn. Formerly a rooster farm, Governor's home, V.I.P. guest house, and Dutch Royal Residence, it is ideally located in Philipsburg on a white sand beach amidst enchanting tropical gardens and enclosed within its original stone walls: a green oasis hidden on Front Street. A national landmark and one of the last bastions of West Indian culture, the Pasanggrahan is secluded and offbeat in the heart of St. Maarten’s capital, and it's a minute's stroll to shops, restaurants, casinos, banks and other institutions and activities. This authentic, colonial style inn has all the special features of a larger hotel including concierge service, the Sidney Greenstreet Bar, boardwalk beach bar, complementary chaise lounges, beach towels, and social hour. “A special place for special people” General Information"This vintage West Indian-style guesthouse has a prime spot on the beach in Philipsburg, sandwiched between the busy, narrow main street of Philipsburg and the harbor. It's set back and shaded under tall trees, a charming relic from another time. In fact, this was once the summer home of the Dutch Queen Wilhelmina, and the interior has a gracious, late-19th-century feel, with peacock bamboo chairs, Indian spool tables, and a gilt-framed oil portrait of the Dutch queen. The small- to medium-size accommodations have queen-size, double, or king-size beds with four-poster designs; some are in the main building and others are in an adjoining annex. The finest have genuine colonial flair, with antique secretaries and four-posters swaddled in mosquito netting, madras valances, hand-stitched quilts, beamed ceilings, and still life paintings. Set among lush palms is the harborfront Pasanggrahan Restaurant, which specializes in fresh fish caught by the hotel's own deep-sea charter fishing boat and family-style dinners. ... more   less
