This is a place from another world. It is gorgeous, posh but not stuffy, happening. Every detail of this place is a work of landscaping and architectural genius and beauty. The rooms are perfect, down to the towels. I wish I could write a book to provide details it deserves. There is a lively bar scene, which is really fun, but if you enter your room adjacent to the bar, and shut the door, there is instant silence. The shower is gorgeous. The view from the balcony made me swoon. But, you know what makes a place perfection, of course. The staff. Every single person I encountered made me smile and took care of me like a treasured friend. They went out of their way to attend to my needs, answer my questions, and make things work. I was in the BWI to scuba dive, and it’s off season. There wasn’t any diving off the island, but they made sure I got to somewhere I could dive. They even identified fish. David, a manager, showed me where to snorkel off the island. I saw amazing life using his advice. It was almost as brilliant as scuba. The people at the reception desk, the restaurant staff, the bar staff, the housekeepers, all appeared to be in love with hospitality. They had grace, humor, and professional excellence I don’t see very often, and I travel a lot. People come to the island to hang at the bar, eat dinner, party, enjoy the property. And it’s a diverse crowd. Tourists, locals, racial variety. It’s not a precious place. It’s a swinging party of joy. And, if you’re staying there, it empties out at night, and it’s your private estate. Nine perfect rooms. That’s all. I walked around in my (Frette brand) bathroom at night looking for meteors. My feet felt the lawn, the sandy beach, the wooden decks, and the beautiful night embraced me. The resort just reopened after hurricane repairs, and I would go there asap. Every single detail is wonderful. Feel free to message me if you want to know more. Bravo, you little acre of heaven. You nailed it, Saba Rock.…
We were not supposed to go there. I procrastinated booking our trip on another island and before I knew it the full week was not available and I had already purchased our plane tickets. I went ahead and booked 5 nights on the other island and began trying to figure out where to stay for the remaining 2 nights. The easiest thing to do would have been to stay on Tortola but I wasn’t really feeling that. I saw someone’s older post on Instagram showing the nearly finished Saba Rock Resort and that sold me. This place was completely rebuilt after hurricane Irma destroyed it. You can tell they spent a lot of money on the rebuild. It is solid and beautifully decorated with quality products. We were there for a day and a half, just the right amount of time for people like us who are not boaters. There are 7 rooms and 2 suites. We stayed in the beautiful spacious Starfish suite with a huge terrace. If you don’t want to stay there, go for a drink and/or to grab a bite to eat in their open-air restaurant/bar. There are even a couple of British phone booths (love!). It’s all about the experience. They have a boat that will come get you at Gun Creek on VG. It’s a 10-minute complimentary boat ride that runs every hour.…
We always knew we wanted to come to Saba Rock after visiting in 2005. From the moment we arrived we were met with drinks, love and smiles. We are travelling with a 10 month old on our delayed honeymoon due to covid and we have been absolutely spoilt. The staff have been so generous with their time, their attention to detail and easily the best drinks in the BVIs. Our room was decorated to mark our honeymoon and we were made to feel part of the Saba Rock Family straight away. We cannot thank the team enough for our special holiday. If you have the opportunity, hold your event here, celebrate here and just enjoy the incredible views of Virgin Gorda. The food has been amazing, the rooms are very generous and the photos do not do it justice. Take time to hear the story of the island and spend time in embracing authentic carribean hospitality. All the best to Saba Rock for next season, keep doing what you are doing and we will see you very soon.…
Amazing cocktails and food aside, the staff and management at Saba Rock were incredibly helpful to us. Following a night time problem on our boat, the staff at Saba Rock were incredibly hospitable and kind to us. They looked after us while we waited for boat repairs and were chatty and welcoming. A special thanks David and Jocelyn who went out of their way to help. Bonus points for great coffee!
Without question it’s been a longtime coming since the devastation from the Hurricanes, but this was well worth the wait. What a spot, what a view in every different direction with plenty of food and beverage choices all over the property. Hard to imagine the amount of effort that was put into to the rebuild of Saba Rock and the passion required to carry it through. We’ve been coming to this area for over 20 years now and glad to that we had the chance to visit Saba Rock 3 times in the last month and might even make a 4th before we leave. Thanks for a great visit and to the GM Alain Prion for making us feel so welcome!
The food and service was as great as you might expect when first laying eyes on this beautifully designed property that was exceptionally well built. In particular, as we were enjoying great drinks and a wonderful meal, the sun began to move, pushing through some clouds and started beaming directly into my eyes. Almost as soon as I first began to squint, the wait staff - without being asked, began to reposition a large umbrella to block this intrusive beam! I can't wait to go back.
We moored in Liverick Bay and took our dinghy over for appetizers and drinks. First place I found in the BVI to have bourbon so right away a plus. Atmosphere and location were beautiful. We had lobster bites, chicken wings, and conch fritters. Excellent. A nice way to wind down the day. Very upscale compared to the rest of what we had experienced in the BVI todate.
We were a party of nine - bareboat charter crew. The wait staff and food were just exceptional. Everyone raved about their meal and we topped it off with their key lime pie which was the best any of us had ever had! Highly recommend.
I highly recommend Saba Rock for any family dining or smaller group events. My friends and family loved the food, hospitality and the ambience. I organized a small group event, all i had to do was just make the payment everything else was taken care of !! Excellent experience !! Special thanks goes out to the Italian manager Chiro ( not sure if I spelt his name correctly) but he deserves all the applauds, we had an heavy rain inconvenient on our way to Saba Rock by boat and we arrived all wet, Chiro took care of us bringing fresh and warm towels and he offered us an excellent table for our dinner! Again Thank You! Saba Rock we will definitely come back!
We celebrated anniversary at Saba Rock. I must say we got surprises through the dishes and treatment we received from the staff, very very friendly and especially Ciro the Italian manager he was charming and extremely polite and so keen in attending us. We enjoyed a lot !! We would love to come and visit again in our next trip in May! Saba Rock is definitely a Must!
