Seventy dollars doesn't get you much in a capital city most days. Certainly not a character-ladened, high-ceiling, historic yet modern inn. This was an exception. Rosemary is scattered, and I say that with affinity and affection as she's decent, honest and genuine. Her daughter's pleasant as well. We stayed in the newer annex, by the surprisingly comfortable deck and plunge...

we had a week at this lovely guest house. The house itself has wonderful character both inside and out. Our room like the rest of the house was clean and light. The only downside was an outside air conditioner was rather noisy. Rosemary was a fantastic host and came up with different local home dishes for breakfast. Thoroughly recommended

Stayed here for two weeks while I was in town for business. We had a spacious and private room with our own patio off the back and also enjoyed the backyard garden and pool. The place feels safe and secure - we had our own alarm system for the evenings. Rosy was a great hostess (she even got up at...

An extremely interestingly renovated 1920 house with its beautiful ornate decor leading right through to the garden at the back with its own splash pool. This is a truly unusual but special place to stay and in my view this should be voted as the No.1 place to stay in the heart of Trinidad. It is situated just off Ariapita...

We were in Trinidad to watch the Aussies take on the West Indies in a Cricket Test match in April 2012. Gingerbread House is located 10 minutes walk to Queens Park Oval. The place is lovely, a restored 1920 home with 4 rooms to rent. Perfectly located close to restaurants, cafes, bars in Woodbrook. Rosemary is the perfect host dishing...

Stayed here for our recent trip in April 2012. This is the third time we have stayed here and in my opinion, the Gingerbread House is still the best place to stay in POS. The location is brilliant, short walk to the restaurants nearby, bank / ATM around the corner, short walk to the Savanah and, as we were there...

We stayed there for just over two weeks in January. This was the perfect base to explore the island and its capital,Port of Spain. It is near all the popular night spots and best restaurants.A great experience to stay in a old style house with all the modern conveniencies. There was also on-site parking for our hire car. Our hosts Rosemary...

My girlfriend and I stayed here 2 nights, and although we were hardly around during the day, we enjoyed coming back to our temporary home. Close enough to walk to interesting places but far enough away you can sleep easily at night. A little pricey at $600TT/night, but it's safe and in a good location.

We stayed in the Gingerbread House in November for just a few days. Rosemary is a pleasant and helpful host. I loved the sound of the tree frogs at night. Relaxed family atmosphere and well located.

We recently visited Port of Spain and having seen some of the reviews on the Gingerbread House, decided to stay there for the full 2 weeks of our visit to Trinidad, as it sounded so welcoming. It was great - and absolutely lived up to our expectations. It was an excellent base for the holiday being centrally located, but just...
