Ocean Club West boasts a stellar location that garners consistent praise for its proximity to pristine beaches, dining options, and shopping venues. The hotel's cleanliness and modern decor contribute to an inviting atmosphere, enhanced by well-furnished kitchens and beachfront amenities. However, guests' opinions are split regarding service; some applaud the attentiveness of the staff, while others have faced issues with rudeness and unresponsiveness.
Despite appreciation for certain amenities, some reviewers question the hotel's value, pointing out maintenance concerns and a lack of expected features. Room experiences also vary, with discrepancies in maintenance and comfort levels reported.

Our family of six loved everything about this place. The condo was comfortable and clean. The kitchen had what we needed for meals. The grounds are well manicured. The meals we had at Solana, the restaurant on property, we great. The staff was friendly and helpful.

We stayed for a week over New Year’s, which is crazy expensive but when we can go! This was our 7th trip to the island but the first time staying at OCW. We wanted location but didn’t want the holiday prices of Grace Bay and Seven Stars. With two kids (3 and 5yo), we try to avoid taxis or driving without car seats so walkability is key. Multiple restaurants at different price points, as well as the grocery store, are all within walking distance. While we generally stay at properties a notch or two above OCW, this was a great, clean hotel for our stay that we would recommend to others.
We stayed in a one bedroom (#423) ocean view. We had a rollaway brought in because the couch did not pull out. The units are typical to many other resorts on the island, individually owned and decorated. We did not find the furniture in ours to be comfortable (old mattress, hard couches and outdoor furniture). It definitely needs a new mattress and the bedding is crinkly and loud (I know that sounds strange but every time we’d roll over, it was noisy) so that needs to be upgraded. The kitchen was outfitted well enough although plastic glasses for the beach would’ve been great. The full bathroom had been redone which was nice. The unit got the job done and we’d still stay here for the price (for this time of year) but would try another unit in the future. (We would stay somewhere else another time of year, when prices are more reasonable - nothing wrong with OCW, we just prefer a little nicer and a little more service.)
The pool and grounds area are very nice, with a tropical look. They have three clean new grills in the center of the pool area with grilling equipment that worked out perfect for a couple casual lunches. The restaurant on property is very good, although service at lunchtime is insanely slow. There is a new beach bar this year that seems to get the food out much faster even though the kitchen in the same as the regular restaurant. Only once did I see beach service. The beach is, of course, beautiful. At New Year’s three rows of chairs were set up but are spaced decently far apart. People definitely go down early to put their towels on first row and then come back several hours later. Kayaks and SUP’s are complimentary.
Service is “light” in general, which is what we were expecting. No turn-down, put out your own towels, no concierge. They did have someone to help us with luggage.
The island is definitely more built up in recent years and they were at 100% for the majority of the week. Dinner reservations need to be made in advance for anywhere that takes them. The island was overall very busy – the beach looked like Panama City a couple times there were so many parasailers, tubers, and tour boats out there. Our last day or two, most of the crowds had thinned out and it was back to the quiet Turks that we love.

We've stayed at the Ocean Club resorts multiple times. We like Ocean Club West because we can walk to so many places, including favorite restaurants. We've stayed at other, more expensive resorts, but feel that for the location and the quality of the rooms, Ocean Club gives us the best quality per $$. Based on our suites the last two visits, the rooms have been upgraded over the years. For our last 2 stays we've had really lovely accommodations with brand new kitchens and baths. The washer/dryer are handy.
We found Bianca at the front desk to be especially helpful with ideas for restaurants and she was just generally very welcoming and fun to chat with.
We treasure this last stay in early March. We squeaked in this trip in right before the world shut down. :-(

This is my third time on the island and have made a point to stay at different resorts/hotel each time and Ocean Club West was my least favorite. The reason is that it is practically a “self service” resort where you have to figure out pretty much everything on your own, there is no assistance or service.
For example, the phone in our room doesn’t work and you can’t call to the lobby or make local calls. You then tell the front desk and they don’t do much to help you. They also don’t provide water in the rooms, they don’t even offer them in a gift shop or anything. This means that if you need water, you’d have to go out to get it at the store if the restaurant is closed.
When you sit down in the restaurant, it could be half an hour before anybody comes and greets you so it’s be faster to get your own menu from the server bar. It would also be faster if you walk over to the bar and order the food and drinks because it could be another half an hour. The same goes goes for the pool area. You’d have to wipe down the chairs and table if it is wet after a rain and you’d also have to walk all the way to the beach to look for beach towels because you can’t expect them to be near the pool or have an attendant handing them out.
Even something as simple as exchanging for some smaller bills from the front desk, they won’t be able to help you because they don’t have any.
The grounds of the resort is kept very clean and it is very pretty and people are all very nice. The rooms are spacious and clean with many utensils and cookware if you want to make your own food. Again, if you’re looking for a self service resort then this is your place to stay. If you’re hoping to spend a little extra money to get some service, let’s say ordering a burger by the pool without having to get up, then I suggest you look elsewhere.

Thank you for your review of our property. I am sorry to hear you were disappointed with the restaurant and a few other services. I am glad you liked the grounds, well equipped suites and found the staff friendly. We market our resorts as all suites with kitchens for guests who prefer to cook in, as well as off the beach front restaurant for those who prefer to dine out. I apologize the restaurant service was slow. The beach chairs are typically wiped down after rain. I regret this was not done. We have a self service towel kiosks, but are not currently handing them out due to the Covid protocols. The front desk is available to offer taxi service, make dinner reservations as well as a variety of other guest requests. They do not keep a large amount of money for exchange. Ocean Club West offers a free shuttle service to our sister property, with an on-site convenience store to purchase drinks. We are also in walking distance to many shops and grocery as well. We appreciate the feedback. I do hope hope that you enjoy your future trips to Turks & Caicos.

Stayed at Ocean Club West for four nights over the Thanksgiving week We had room 525 which is a second floor unit with a view of the pool and partial ocean view. The unit itself is fine, if a bit dated. Single bedroom with a pullout double or queen sized sleeper sofa in the main room for the kids. The unit had a full kitchen with coffee maker, oven, dishwasher, microwave and full refrigerator and was equipped with everything you’d need for cooking and eating in the apartment. The pool is relatively small and shallow but nice. All to often patrons would claim their chairs early in the morning by throwing towels down but we could always find a spot. The chairs and umbrellas were always available on the pristine beach in front of the complex. We ate dinner our first night at the hotel’s restaurant which was decent but we went off the resort for meals after that - Skull Rock Cantina (or something like that) was great for Mexican and Bellaluna had good Italian. The grocery up the street in walking distance Gracebay Gourment had to go breakfast for less than 10$ with large servings of eggs and bacon along with nice croissants and muffins. We bought a quarter watermelon for 2 bucks each day there as well. We got our breakfast there each morning and brought it back to the room to eat with the kids - once they were awake- on the balcony overlooking the pool. They also had a decent selection of wine beer and spirits. Saw a guy order a sub sandwich that looked pretty good as well. The current Covid protocol for coming into country is a bit of a chore and you’ll have to get tested leaving but the testing place is right next door to the hotel and an easy reservation to make. We rented a car and only used it once other than getting to the airport and back. If you don’t have a concrete plan for using a rental I would forgo that and just get a transfer to the hotel. We rented from Hertz and it was a terrible experience which I ended up contacting Hertz about. All in all, OCW was nice. Not a luxury experience but not a budget one either.

+1
We just got back last night from a 6 night stay in one of the waterfront apartments in the A building-with views of the pool, bar, restaurant, and beach/oceanfront, depending on what way you look. It was truly a magical week, and we enjoyed all of the natural beauty of Turks and Caicos, but the staff is truly one of the most valuable resources here. We were there with my two sons, ages 2 and 4, and they both felt so special and loved by the staff at Ocean Club West.
They (and I, for that matter), had many conversations with the young men at the stand near the beach. Bradly, Ernest, and JP were so warm and helpful, and my kids were always very excited to go “buy towels” from them and have a fist bump and a chat. Kevin, from water play, has a special place in our heart. We had several long talks, and he was always so friendly and candid, not to mention being helpful and encouraging about use of the water vessels. The maintenance and cleaning staff were also very kind and lovely, with almost everyone we saw pausing in their work for a moment to connect with the kids, ask their names (and then almost always remember it the next time we saw them), answer the many (so many) questions my kids had for them.
I know that everyone was just doing their jobs, but I felt very emotional leaving, because they had been so welcoming and kind- it was almost like leaving friends. I know that my boys feel that way (they’re still talking about when we’ll go back and see everyone again). So I just wanted to say thank you to everyone, and specifically those gentlemen who really made our trip very special. I hope that there is a way for management to pass these words along, and I hope that you know how lucky you are to have such great young people in your employment.

I would really rank this Resort as a Very Good +, but obviously not an option. I dont throw around Excellent reviews and while this place was close, there were some minor flaws
Room: We had a beachfront room. It was super convenient to everything. Within steps of the pool, beach and main dining area. The room was cleaned meticulously daily, air conditioned worked great.
Staff: Everyone we came across was super friendly. Thing I loved about the culture in Provo is that everyone is friendly, just not fake. They will not over extend themselves but if you interact they will be welcoming and very helpful. Most everyone is on Island time, so I suggest you decompress and be patient.
Beach: This is why you stay at OCean Club West. Perfect location on Grace Bay
Pool: Was always clean and never crowded. Always plenty of clean towels
Restaurant: Food was above average, but not great. While breakfast typically took a long time, it was convenient location and the plenty of options
We had dinner 1 night, not too expensive and dining on the deck during sunset was beautiful
Entertainment: This resort was chill, laid back and family friendly. The resort guests were just as nice and easy going as the staff. You never saw anyone that was angry or frustrated and it is definitely not a "party" environment.
Rent a jeep so you can explore the island, charter a boat, do a sunset sail, go to Conch Shack on Wednesday and spend your evenings watching the amazing sunset on Grace Bay

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights in January of this year. This was our first time away without the kids in a long time and were looking for a chance to unwind and relax on a beautiful beach. THIS RESORT WAS AMAZING. The staff was wonderful and so friendly and helpful. They truly went above and beyond our entire stay. An example of one of nicest gestures - one of the staff took our conch shells and cleaned them up and polished them so we could take them home beautiful and shiny to our kids.
We stayed in a king/studio suite. The bathroom needed a little bit of updating but was extremely clean. The rest of the room was very well appointed and the screened in balcony was heavenly. We ate breakfast on the balcony and relaxed every morning. The kitchenette and in room washer and dryer was a wonderful bonus.
The pool and resort grounds were beautiful and very well kept up. The towel service for the beach was great and we never had an issue getting a chair and umbrella on the beach.
Overall - this was the perfect place for us. We are already looking at dates to come back again next year!

Property/Staff/Room: Very nice property. Clean facilities with great maid service. Friendly staff. Each condo is individually owned so they have their own touches/decorations. Ours had a washer and dryer with detergent. Also had a beach bag, little beach cups and a cooler were very nice. Coffee maker and coffee in the room. Little porch was great for coffee and lunch. Our room was one of the farthest from the ocean and it was still very close, maybe 60 second easy walk.
Beach: World class beach, number one attraction of this facility, makes it worth the price. Beautiful water. Plenty of beach chairs, three rows on either side. We got out their between 7-8am and were able to find a front row spot each day. Towel service down at the beach. Clean bathrooms right down at the beach.
Bar/restaurant: Solana is the only restaurant on site, the others listed on the website are at the sister location over a mile away, the website does not make this clear. Solana serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, we had all three and all three were good. you can also get food to go to take to the beach or room. There is a bar on the beach which is nice, pretty expensive but most things on the island are.
Location: there are little shops down the road that have good shopping. There is also a very nice grocery store walking distance that I would compare to a fresh market or kroger, wide selection. We got beer, wine and liquor from the store, saved on drinks at the beach bar.
Would definitely stay at this property again.

2nd time to Turks and the Ocean Club West was perfect for us. There are tons of properties on the island and so it is important to choose wisely. What we loved about it is 1) less expensive 2) beautiful grounds and rooms 3) beach bar and ample chairs/umbrellas 4) full service kitchen 5) met charming and lovely people all around, a washer dryer which allowed me to pack half of what I would usually bring for a 7 day stay and 6) they left us alone to do our thing - which may not be your thing but it's ours! We like to come into town, stock the fridge, manage our own experience and be responsible for our room and finding our own tours, etc. There is a great restaurant and two bars on the property and you can walk the beach and find other really tasty places to dine as well but the Grocery Store is just a brief walk away and they give you a pull cart to be able to haul your stuff back, they have water sports toys, bikes, etc. ALSO very close to Potcake Place and they allow you to go get the puppies and bring them to the beach which some of the bougie resorts do not allow. We had room 222 on the corner, beach and the views were incredible - saw the sunset every evening and also very quiet! Perfect get away for us. Will return to this spot again.

Thank you for your review. Ocean Club Resorts are a great value on Grace Bay Beach. I am pleased to hear you you enjoyed many aspects of the resort and the convenient location! And even better, so close to Potcake Place. They are very appreciative of guests taking the pups for the day. We look forward to your return with us.

No, there are only stairs to get to the upper level condo rooms.
I think it could be different in the units. It is whatever the owners put in there.
From the beach side we walked to the Pelican and the taco place by GBC. We liked the Deck as well by 7 stars. By the road is the Conch bar and we loved the patty place! Our favorite is Mr Grouper! Also try the Thursday fry it's an experience!
