My husband and I transfered to The Green Iguana after spending a few days at the most overpriced, over-rated hotel on the island ( name withheld on purpose)...we were bored with that hotel and wanted to see what the island was really like. We received a recommendation from the President of the Hotel Association on the island and we are...

I really don't know what to say to you two! You left a fabulous resort to stay in this little 9 room hotel! We are happy the VIHTA suggested us and we were quick frankly, nervous! We really enjoyed dinner with you and just sitting in the gardens chatting! Next visit, please bring your little "music box" back with you!...

All too often when people go on vacation they stay at resorts, and in many cases never leave. Sure, it's a vacation, but you are in another country (or in this case, a US territory), so you don't really get the whole experience. The Green Iguana is right in the thick of things. Assuming you have rented a car, you...

You two were fun to be around, with your daily reports of your adventures, and questions about the next day's probabilities! Sometimes we learn more from our Guests than you do from us! We hope there will be many more conversations with you! Thanks for finding us and we know you will keep in touch!

Terrific 1 night stay after a week camping at St John. Appreciated being able to use the laundry room and hosts John and Gwen were gracious and welcoming. Nice central courtyard and saw a green iguana sunning himself in the garden. Walked down (then back up!) the steps for dinner; not a bad trek. One tip: if you're driving there,...

We don't mind our campers and boaters doing a quick load of laundry after their adventure! No one wants smelly laundry when you get home! Our roads are narrow and we understand the UVI has a project they are working on to MARK the streets, AND upload that information to the map sites on the internet! Until then, please feel...

When comparing rates in Charlotte Amalie you will find other hotels that may seem similar. Don't be fooled. This is no regular tourist stop. The Green Iguana is an island atop the hill overlooking the hustle and bustle. Close enough you can walk to shopping, but aloof enough you can be apart from it. The complex sprawls down a little...

What an oasis in the city of Charlotte Amalie, V.I. John and Gwen Pittman were so helpful, entertaining and informative that they made our stay seem most enjoyable and way too short. The Green Iguana is a short walk to the active part of town and even shorter and more entertaining if you use the 99 steps. Our hosts and...

A vacation after the vacation! What a great idea! John and I discovered another set of steps, I think a bit fewer than 99.... just as easy to walk to Town, and even easier if you are walking to Yacht Haven Grande and Havensight! WHEN you return, we'll be here waiting to show you!

Isn't it amazing we had to meet 3200 miles away from home? With as many mutual friends we have, we wonder why we haven't met before! We will keep in touch and see you on our vacations to Ohio and when you bring your family and friends with you on your next visit! Thanks for taking Larry's suggestion to come...

We stayed for the second time at the Green Iguana on our way back from a sailboat charter in the BVI's. We were able to book the same delightful room we'd had in 2010, however this time the new managers John and Gwen especially made the stay even more enjoyable with their welcoming, friendly personalities. We loved our room with...
