We rented through Alan independently for the first 3 nights and since he had overbooked the condo we had to move to a different room that the hotel had available. We knew about this going in so not a big deal. I will post pictures of the rooms so you can see the extreme differences that you can get at...

This is Lisa Bushman, I am the owner of B203. I want to thank you for the wonderful review you wrote about my condo. Please do contact me and feel free to refer me to your friends for renting my condo. I love staying there and it is the most wonderful place I have been able to travel. My e-mail...

Yes the resort needs some updating, but it is family owned. We have been there before and nothing beats the beach and the atmosphere. However, the owners have closed the restaurant and bar, but they offer free shuttle service to anywhere you want to go. Plus independent people work on the beach and offer all sorts of food and drinks...

Rented unit from local owner via VRBO. VERY not impressed. Half the lights either didn't work or were missing bulbs. Cheap stove, half the stuff missing or broken. No washer/dryer & Sapphire Resort has no laundry facilities or laundry service. Had to pay taxi to haul to Red Hook & back and pay outrageous amount for a few clothes. Didn't...

This is not a full service resort, if you want that go elsewhere. If you want a place that has entertainment, on-site restaurant, or organized events then Sapphire isn’t for you. If you stay here you can go to any other hotel or bar which has entertainment and enjoy it there. After dark, everything is quiet and calm here, so...

We loved this resort. The staff was friendly and helpful, We stayed in room A109, it was perfect. You could walk right out of the room on to the beach. The free breakfast was a choice of 4 items which was plenty for 1 person. The pool area was awesome, so you swam with some ducks, I loved it. There...

Location, Location, Location... We stayed in unit C202 from a private owner on VRBO (paradiseatthebeach.com). It was nicely remodeled with a newer kitchen and bath. Actually the bathroom was nicer than many so-called 4star hotels I've stayed in! The beach (sapphire) was our favorite on the island, virtually no crowds or cruise ship people while we were there. The snorkeling...

Rented a condo thru VRBO.com and was very happy. We were in Bldg B and on the 2nd floor. Unit was clean and remodeled and nice. Very quiet when we were there. Pool is very nice right on ocean and beautiful views. This complex is very convenient. Close to Red Hook. Rented a car and kind of scary driving at...

SapphireBeach08, Individual Condo Owner at Sapphire Beach Resort, responded to this review

The reviewer described Sapphire quite accurately. One note, however, only 1/3 of the units are "up/down" units that sleep six. The first and second floor units are one floor suites, usually sleeping four.

... it meets your needs and expectations. To make a long story short, the Sapphire Beach Resort is not a "resort" in the traditional sense of the word. It is basically a condominium complex, with some units owned and rented like hotel rooms by a management company, and other individual units rented by their owners. The units are up/down two-story...

Too many times than not, I think that people seem to take the time to write a review when they have had a bad experience rather than when they have had a great one. =( That being said, as much as I'd like to keep this place a little secret paradise of mine, I absolutely HAD to write this review......

We stayed at Sapphire Beach in a residence that friends of ours own. We had a terrific time. The facility is older and showing its age in places. The hard part is that the restaurant and bar spaces at the pool and the main hotel building are shuttered. We were told that there is some litigation going on with the...
