A lovely friendly and warm welcome as always. Rooms are comfortable and clean with en-suite bathrooms, tv, hairdryer and kettle. Breakfast superb. It's not fancy by any means but we love it! This is our chosen destination when we visit family and friends in Merthyr. Ideal location for a night out as it's right in the town. We can't fault...

Landlady very helpful and friendly, the pub is quiet a little bit busier on weekend but not noisy. The room was clean and bed comfortable. The pub does a great breakfast, they do not do meals but there are plenty of dining option within a 5 minute walk. Secure parking is available next to hotel.

It's not fancy, it's not pretentious, it's functional, but above all the people there a nice. A flying visit for me needing a room for the night. I had a lot of gear with me that needed to stay safe in the car and I was directed to park in the personal private locked car-park. It's hard to oversell how...

We received a very warm welcome when we entered this hotel, Our host and hostess aways had a smile and were full of local knowledge, perfect for a short brake. Our room was spacious with a comfy firm bed and a great sports shower (essential when using this as our base for Bike Park Wales). No complaints of the room...

Friendly owners. Nice, clean and friendly. There was secure storage for the mountain bikes and cars. Good breakfast and owners were used to mud covered bikes arriving after a day in the bike park. Good shower

Weekend away at the fantastic bike park with a friend. 10 minutes away from the bike park it was an excellent place to stay. Room clean and all we needed (including a TV at the end of both our beds). The hotel is fantastic value with breakfast being just what you need to start an energy packed day. The welcome...

Stayed here for two nights whilst visuting family in the area and watching rugby in Cardiff. We stayed with our dog who was given a very warm welcome. Convenient location, spotlessly clean, lovely hosts, good value breakfast including a dog chew for the mutt. Excellent value.... we will definitely be back.

When I told my Welsh friend we were spending a couple of days in Merthyr she was somewhat surprised. We don't own a car and travel everywhere by train so breaks are partly determined by where the trains run to. I noticed the Brecon Beacon mountain railway and if the weather was miserable there was a castle we could visit...
