We popped in for a late breakfast, wow, what a gem of a place! The kids had the pancakes and we had salmon, scrambled eggs and fresh sourdough. The food was delicious and the staff were absolutely wonderful; warm, polite and friendly. They welcome dogs too which is an added bonus. Definitely recommend!

Visited for a family meal to celebrate our daughter's birthday. The bar and restaurant are decorated beautifully and staff were very friendly and welcoming. Food was amazing and good sized portions, which were clearly freshly prepared with good quality ingredients. Two people in our party have complex dietary requirements with several allergies and this was very well catered for. My wife is disabled and she was very impressed with the standard of the accessible toilet.
Would highly recommend!

We booked one night after driving from St Davids through the Brecon Beacons park.
Limited parking is available nearby (1 min. walk); there's a fee during the day, but free at night.
The room was clean and comfortable. One window was rattling a bit due to the wind (folded paper jammed on one side took care of it!).
Breakfast is served in the dining room on the ground floor (rooms are upstairs). Nothing fancy, but it tasted good.

Unfortunately will have to leave bad review. The owner left me with hefty repair bill. No message, no email, no phone call, only when I was dealing with my receipts, three weeks later, I realised that we cut through live electrical wire to remove fan cable and cracked overhead light!!! A phone call later, in which she explained that is our fault and her handy man nearly got killed to repair it( but we didn't, while supposedly cutting it, she sent after pictures, no dates on them and not before.
Anyway, if you feel like paying £100+ for bunk beds and some repair for the lady, go ahead

NOT ACCESSIBLE! We booked this hotel less than 24 hours before our stay due to some unexpected changes to our itinerary. We had two disabled people in our party and they were forced to climb two flights of stairs to get to the rooms, which were all on the third floor. Would only give refund if cancelled 48 hrs despite booking last minute. A bit unacceptable given the disability issue and the failure to disclose that on the web site.
Shower nice, bed was ok. No AC during a warm spell and only 1 room had a fan. The staff were amazing and the Flora Dora cocktail was soooo good!

Dear Sir, your review is so unfair and we are very upset! It says clearly on our website that rooms are on the second floor Not the third floor as you said and that we do not have a lift. Nobody forced your party to climb the stairs and as you say it was a last minute booking by yourself it is your responsibility to ensure what you book is suitable for your needs. Question? Why would we be obliged to give a refund as you stayed? 2 bubbles for value??? £89.00 for a double room?? Location 1 bubble Why? You booked a town centre hotel did you expect sea views? I remember lovely Ladies in your group serving them many Gin and Tonics and they did particularly like the Flora Dora cocktail which we were very happy to serve. I wonder if they agree with your unkind review? Tip - check what you book especially if you have mobility issues

Great place to catch up over a leisurely Brunch &/Coffee & cake. I enjoyed Smoked Salmon with Scrambled Eggs and a glass of Gwynt Y Ddraig Black Dragon cider 😋followed by a Latte & Cupcake 😋
Lovely atmosphere & Sarah looked after us very well.

What a little gem of a place. Both us & our 2 dogs were so well looked after. The dogs had treats & beds to sleep on. The welcome we received was wonderful. Sarah, Kiera, Phil the night porter & Shanaya are amazing staff. The hotel is beautifully decorated & is so quirky. Our family met us there for brunch today to exchange Christmas presents & everyone cleared their plates the food was so tasty & beautifully presented. We will definitely return. Thank you so much.

I visit the Tiger Inn regularly - sometimes for lunch and also in the evening for drinks. The staff are really lovely and friendly, especially Kiera and Sarah. The food is always tasty - lunchtime you can choose from the menu or from the specials board and there are always gorgeous homemade cakes and Welsh Cakes. There is a good choice of drinks and the place is decorated beautifully - if the weather is nice enough then I really recommend sitting out in the delightful garden.

My family and I had been to Treharris in the morning and came to Merthyr Tydfil in search of somewhere to eat. Thankfully we found The Tiger Inn. What a find. A gem of a place! Seek this spot out. Go out of your way for it. It’s worth it. The staff are so nice and the lady in charge is a ray of sunshine! So friendly and knowledgeable about the local area.
If having wonderful staff is not reason enough to seek it out then the food certainly is. There was so much I wanted to try but in the end went with a traditionally Welsh lamb cawl. Spot on. Served with a chunk of bread and a wedge of cheese plus real butter. Just what I needed. We also shared the camembert loaf - one of the best things I’ve eaten in yonks!
I live in Somerset UK bit would travel here again just for that!
You won’t regret a trip here - check this place out.

I recently stayed at the hotel It was very busy but the lady in lounge was very welcoming. I think her name was Sarah or Sara. Even though she was rushed off her feet she still was so accommodating and full of smiles. We waited about 6-7 minutes for our 2nd round of drinks but she gave us some tasty welsh cakes as an apology. What an absolute credit to your beautiful hotel xx
