My wife and I have been enjoying the beauty and charm of Caneel Bay for over 15 years. While the warm friendly staff is the same, the rooms are being upgraded! We stay in a beach front room that was completely renovated last summer. Part of our family joined us for one week - the kids just love the water,...

My boyfriend and I differ in our opinion: he thinks we should go back soon, and I think it's too expensive - even when we book the cheapest rates in November - to be anything but a once or twice in a lifetime trip. (We go the the USVI & BVI at least twice a year, just for less $$!)...

Great service had a beach front location. Older resort needs some updating but food was great and very good service. Would return. Beaches were very private and nice. You can get drinks on the beaches which is nice.

I have been to Caneel Bay on several occasions. This is a great place to get away, have great food with great service and enjoy trips to other islands. The rooms are not luxurious, but very nice. You can get a duplex next to the bay and enjoy a private beach area. Travel around St John is easy and enjoyable.

God made the most beautiful beaches, and Laurence Rockefeller had the vision to create a great resort. Scott's Beach has the most amazing snorkeling, sunsets, and the property trails are fun, manageable and have stunning views. Desmond, the water sport person, took us on a great snorkeling trip and could not have been more helpful the entire visit. But the...

Dear sstorb, Thank you for your review on Tripadvisor, and I am pleased you enjoyed many of the amenities that make Caneel Bay a special place for our visitors. We've visited this resort several times over multiple owners/managers. Highpoints are the property itself (lovely and spacious grounds), the island (one of our favorites in the Caribbean), the quiet beaches (several to pick from), the staff (uniformly gracious) and our room (76) which was newly renovated and first-rate. The low point is some of the food. Zozos at the sugar...

We've never seen let alone stayed at a place like Caneel Bay Resort. The resort itself is inside a national park. There are seven beaches, each as beautiful as the last, from which one can snorkel out and see reefs full of fish and swim with the local sea turtles. Our room was beachfront and the view was literally unbelievable....

Amazing place! Caneel Bay resort ranks as one of my favorite places on Earth. The location is breathtaking. The vibe is relaxing and yet decadent. The staff could not be more accommodating! It is worth the extra cost to stay in a beachfront room. My husband and I woke up each morning to our own private beach where we snorkeled...

Fell in love with the resort's spectacularly gorgeous private beaches - our favorites were Scott Beach (stunning at sunset, since it faces due west), Turtle Bay Beach, and Hawksnest Beach. Excellent snorkeling, with frequent sightings of green sea turtles. Pelicans zipping by and crash landing in the water to scoop up fish...yachts and sailboats cruising along. Always something to see...even...

Caneel Bay is a resort with a personality of it's own. Spread out over the many many acres of the former Rockefeller estate, rooms vary widely in their location, and hence in their proximity to the beaches, restaurants, bars, etc. Shuttles run continually between the room locations, but be sure to take a close look at the property map before...
