A short distance from the port is this small but well maintained beach area that is free and convenient. We visited during the slow season so it wasn't overcrowded. Public bathrooms and showers. Several local food shacks and Fat Tuesday is adjacent. It's worth the effort especially if your on tight schedule.

Had nice sand and water. For a free beach it was pretty nice. Not a bad walk from the cruise ships. There were lots of people from the cruise ships hanging out there. It's about a 15 minute walk from the cruise ship docks.

First time to the Bahamas with a group of 7 including a 2 year old at the time. We were there during Bahamas Independence Day which was fun! The rooms are close to beach literally right across the street but the actual room needs a major update. The staff were very hospitable and our group enjoyed the cookout with authentic...

We took a cruise to Nassau Bahamas. As we wanted some culture away from the tourist attractions we headed to Junkanoo Beach. No resort was there, only a small beach in need of repair. Had a small bar with custom drinks. Lots of construction that seems to be halted. Very nice and warm people. I can't say anything but wonderful...

This is NOT a gay friendly hotel. Upon our arrival, we knew that we were not truly welcomed to the hotel. During check in, they noticed that we only requested one bed but had two adult males checking in. They said that they could not offer that request and booked us two single beds. The room was average, nothing special...

Went to Nassau on a cruise. Had about 8 hours to see what we could. Spent the first day on grand bahama island and weren't looking to go on an excursion in Nassau. Packed a suit, towel and snorkel gear for the family and walked into the port area. Walking in the port area was ok. Straw market was an...

A short walk from the cruise ship (Carnival Sensation), this beach was the perfect spot to kick back and relax. Despite visiting during Spring Break (5 ships were in port!), it was not overly crowded. There are public restrooms and a shower. A live band and several bars to complete the island atmosphere :-)

Nassau is an expensive crossroads city in an underdeveloped country. For those avoiding the first-world commercial fairytale, Atlantis, or the $400/night bill at the Hilton, this is safe and central. It is a shabby concrete building, and it is not the USA. But in this expensive city it is a reasonable refuge with touches, good and bad, of real Bahamian...

Don't even bother staying here - waste of your money. Spent there 6 nights over the new years eve 2014/2015 and that was my worst experience ever. Hotel is old and unmaintained, stinky and dirty rooms, loud from the street and construction site on the opposite side of the street wakes you up at 5am in the morning ! They...

I have such mixed feelings about this place;hence the totally ambiguous and unhelpful review title (sorry). I'll try to break it down. First, ignore the word "resort," that is a total joke. This might be one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. On the other hand, I've stayed in a lot of hostels in the us, Europe, and...
