Enjoyed drinks from Kayvana, the bartender, here one afternoon. We tried the rum punch and the banana rum punch... never had banana rum punch before and thought it was pretty good!
Very good service throughout our stay from Kayvana. Wifi was not working while we were there.

I arrived by boat and stayed on my boat in Georgetown harbour, but I got a chance to hang out at the Two Turtles and sample their food. Two Turtles is in the middle of the town, close to the shops, market and the churches. The service was good. Food was very nice and it was one of the most affordable sit down dinners we had in the Bahamas. In the evening the was usally a local reggae group and it was a great time to mix with the local people. There were also sailors from around the glode sharing stories of their travels. The lobby has a computer which is availible for internet acess at a very high price. The dial up connection wen down every couple of minutes. Two Turtles was a very friendly spot. I would reccomend it for sure>

I did not stay at the two turtles, but enjoyed drinks and meals there often. We loved the atmosphere and its being the center of island life.
In the busy season have a outdoor dinner that is very reasonable where everyone attends. The off season only locals and U.S. Army will be there, the servicemen will be glad for the visitors from home. Time passes slowly on this island.

The only good thing I can say about Two Turtles is the sheets were clean. The carpet was so dirty I did't want to walk barefoot. There was no mirror in the bathroom or outlet to shave. The toilet seat was broken and the shower had mold growing. There was no remote for the T. V. and when we got one the cable was fuzzy. The cold water in the shower didn't work and my husband had to repair it. The noise from the bar played until 1:00 in the morning, to make a long story short if this hotel were in the States it wouldn't be worth $50.

I booked this hotel via booking.com. There was supposed to be nothing charged until arrival and free cancellation.
Well.. they did charge my credit card TWICE(!!!) putting my bank account on credit.
When confronted they eventually refunded some money but NOT THE FULL AMOUNT!!! and then they went quiet.
Bank imposed some charges on me so I have to cover these and pay for hotel I've never even went to.
Basically massive scam!
Don't give them your Credit Card details!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I booked a room there 3 weeks in advance and the day I was to arrive, they notify me that they are overbooked and have moved me to another hotel. That was fine, because it was almost half the price of Two Turtles. However, the hotel they moved me to only took cash which was very inconvenient for me. The hotel (Marshall's Guesthouse) was actually pretty nice.

I firmly believe that my reservation was cancelled so that they could make room for the reservations that were being charged more then me.

Also, the bartender at the bar at Two Turtles seemed to charge people different prices for the same items. Make sure you bring cash because most places don't take credit/debit cards. If they do, you have to spend at least $20 or they won't let you use your card.

We booked a room here on October 20 2016 just for the night. It was to our surprise that when we got there the place looked extremely run down and as if no one had been there in awhile. We did not have cell phone service on the island but luckily our cab driver let us use his to call the numbers posted on the door. We called multiple times yet no one answered. My boyfriend went into a little shop that was right in front of the inn and they hold told me they were closed for renovations. I booked this inn through Expedia yet the company still took my money. Thankfully Expedia is extremely helpful!

Guys, if you respect yourself, DONT stay in this MOTEL! It's even not a hotel, these are little rooms with tv (that doesn't work), wifi that doesn't work. The restaurant doesn't exist ! They don't clean the room (we stayed for 7 days and the room was clean no one time ). The door of the room goes directly to the street.
Many awful big cockroaches !!
Not possible to sleep till 1-2am because of the bar that is directly at the entry and people are always drunk and the music is sooo loud.

if you do not need to stay directly on the beach but want to stay in the village - its still quiet and not a long walk to the beach.... and you keep in touch with the locals. I don't regret. Simple grilled food at the bar, as well as a cool kalik. the owner is really helpful.

Stopped in at the patio bar while walking George Town. Inquired about some conch fritters but due to a recent concert and being extremely busy the last few days they were out of conch and come to find out many other food items. So this led us to having a few drinks.

Or bartender was extremely friendly, explaining the various drinks she was making for others and chatting us up. We were definitely typical tourists asking to borrow her pen to write postcards and asking questions about various things on the island. This was a stop on our first day and it set the tone of the friendliness we would encounter wherever we went.

Having note sampled the food I can't say where it ranks but the friendliness and the cold beer were great! Oh, and the speedy WiFi was a nice change of pace as well!

How far is the beach from this hotel?
Answer from TwoTurtlesResort
Great Exuma
A short 3 minute walk to the water taxi on the Government dock will take you to Stoking Island. Other beaches in the nearby vicinity are a 10-15 minute walk. More beaches are further away and would require the use of a car.
