Visited with wife as birthday gift from son. Seven course taster menu and overnight accommodation. From the time we arrived we were made very welcome by Gennaro and his team. The room was lovely and warm welsh cakes were a delight. The service for dinner was impressive as was the quality of the food. Each course offered something different although...

Definitely worth the star - the tasting menu (7 courses) included 2 (pigeon & venison) that were bursting with flavour. Our bedroom was immaculate from the comfortable bed (great sleep) to the tastefully renovated bathroom - given us ideas for our own! Gripes - breakfast was a bit odd, served at a pedestrian pace, mediocre cold breakfast choices & my...

Excellent food, great selection of wines and very helpful and friendly staff. The 7 course taster menu was delicious (especially enjoyed crab and venison) with imaginative presentation and every course was served with a smile. The hotel, which is in a quiet rural location, has a relaxing ambience, our room was lovely and our bed super comfortable. Great breakfast too...

The tasting menu was perfect, imaginative and beautifully presented; the room was glorious and breakfast was sublime. So few chefs understand my request for minimally boiled eggs but this one did! Just a couple of minor beefs: I would hate to be THAT tedious little oik who moans about wifi or whatever (and in fact wifi was reasonably reliable) but...(almost...

We booked for the 7 course taster menu with overnight stay at £280 . Opyional was the wine taster at £55 per head, as we do not like red wines or dessert wine we did not choose this option, and on the first page was a Touraine Sauvignon Blanc at £28 per bottle which was excellent. the food was a...

We stayed here for two nights to celebrate a friend's birthday and it was a quite superb experience. Our rooms were clean, a good size, quiet and comfortable, but what stood out for us, the excellent food aside, was the efficient and friendly service we received from everyone we met, especially the amiable manager. Our first night we enjoyed a...

We have lunch every month in The Whitebrook and every time Chris Harrod knows how to excite our taste buds. A three course meal ends up as a 5 course taste pleasure (counting separately the delicious canapes and pre-desert). Staff are very pleasant and make the whole afternoon very relaxed.

My wife bought us a meal with wine and a night away at this lovely restaurant with rooms as a Christmas present. We went there in that quiet period between Christmas and New Year. We had stopped near Tintern Abbey on the way and went on a 7 mile walk up in the hills to the Devil's Pulpit - with...

From the moment we walked in the door we were enveloped in the tranquility of The Whitebrook. Although we arrived early, our room was ready and we were invited to have tea either in our room or in the reception area. As the guest rooms are small (the building was originally a crofter's cottage after all), we opted to have...
