Excellent , Big thanks to Mel and Brian. Great welcome when we arrived, nothing was too much trouble. 20 wet bikers where well catered for. Would recommend for anybody who is keen to explore the beautiful North Wales Countryside. Places to eat locally and within walking distance of Dolwyddelan. All close to Zip World and the New Surf Centre in...

Yet again the host were the best, this time we showed with the 21 bikers planned, after our visit in Feb. Mel put up with my calls making amendments to the arrangements on more than a few occasions in such a friendly and professional manner. All was spot on when we arrived, and the whole family sorted us out quickly,...

Used Lledr House Hostel as a stop-over for some hiking in Snowdonia. Really impressed. Great communal area, well stocked kitchen and good value for money. A great place to relax after a hard days hiking.

We stayed here the night before we completed the Welsh three peaks, and this lovely hostel was just perfect for the job, we stayed in the double bunk bed room which slept 4 people, all the beds were memory foam which was incredible, sent us off to sleep straight away, we had a shared bathroom with everyone else but didn't...

The hostel is located in a really nice setting, about 20min drive from where most Snowdon Summit tracks start. The room wasn't really big but the beds were quite comfy for a hostel, which was a nice surprise. The bathroom had the tiniest shower I've ever seen, but there is a bigger one by the common lounge which I suggest...

Lovely comfortable hostel and big enough kitchen for individuals. There are large pans for groups to cook together although our group went to eat at the local pubs.. Very comfy beds. More luxurious hostel than many of the independent hostels

Visited with my 5 year old girl. Our room was decent, however, everything else was well below any hostel standard I'm used to. Bin in kitchen was not emptied for 3 days - my entire stay. Early on day 2, the drain in kitchen overflowed and hostel owner was told as this is a serious issue in any kitchen. When...

A comfortable, friendly and inexpensive place to stay. The showers, kitchen and common room were clean and tidy despite a number of other small groups staying and cooking for themselves. I booked a single room 'with private facilities'. The 'private' aspect seemed only to be that the toilet and shower cubicles had doors. The washroom was unisex and shared by...

I was very impressed with this hostel. The owners were very helpful during the booking process so that I could make sure my Scouts were all in the correct rooms together, with no other strangers. There was parking and the owner gave us a tour so we knew where everything was. Rooms were very clean, comfortable and good quality bedding...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Hostel...... Delightfully situated in the heart of Snowdonia National Park with good access by road and rail, this former Quarry Manager's house which is covered in cedar shingle is situated in a very beautiful, quiet wooded valley. With it's own grounds and a large playing area adjacent, this riverside location is popular with travelers, walkers, cyclists and families alike. This was the first Youth hostel in North Wales and was run by the Youth Hostels Associaton for over 50 years. Now privately owned and family run, Lledr House offers a family feel to your stay and welcomes our repeat visitors and new-comers alike! Membership is no longer needed to stay at the Hostel. Changing ownership in late 2001, the main part of the house was converted into the Quilter family home and the hostel was made smaller on a more personal scale, reducing the bed count from 60 to 31. The Hostel has been newly refurbished and now features a large dormatory for up to 9 people, twin rooms, single rooms and family rooms with bunk beds and single beds. The hostel is self-catering with a large kitchen and dining room, making catering for your own meals straight forward. Neighbouring villages offer a variety of restaurants and take-away's ranging from Fish & Chips, pub grub, or Indian and Chinese cuisine, to the finer chef made meals served at our local Hotels. Nestled in the Snowdonia National Park, alongside the Lledr River, we are surrounded by woodlands and walks, with Pont-y-Pant railway station only a 10 minute walk away on the far side of the river. Lledr House offers exclusive fishing rights for freshwater Salmon and Trout!! (Permits are available from the village Post Office - approx £7.00 per day). There is ample parking on the grounds, with an over-flow parking located just a 2 minute walk away. Situated only 4 miles from Betws-y-Coed, a well known tourist hot-spot and back-packers town with wonderful gift shops to suit every taste! ... more   less
