Comfortable, friendly hotel. Well appointed, and well located for pleasant walks. Great food, both freshly cooked breakfast and dinner. Castle within walking distance. Zip world is a 8 minute drive away. Great family suite, really good value. Adequate internet.

Not made to feel welcome from the booking through to the end of the meal. The woman who took the booking (Elen?) leant against a doorframe with a surly face and didn't offer any pleasantries whatsoever. When I asked about the menu she said to look online and that the kid's menu is "fishfingers and that kind of stuff". Charming....

We are sorry that you did not enjoy your experience. All our customers are equally treated with courtesy and professionalism. We are dumbfounded at the suggestion that a customer here in the property would be directed to look at the online menu. We have taken a look at your other reviews and are comforted that we are not the only...

Had dinner here tonight. Wonderful home cooked meal. Lovely bar area for a pre meal drink with a wood burning stove. Helen the landlady most welcoming. Dining in the evening only, but caters for groups on request during the day. You won't be disappointed .

Stayed here a few times over the years. Mainly because its dog friendly and when i come to North Wales its usually last minute and not much thought goes into choosing a hotel. Its very very tired and shabby - food is OK but not great - maybe 5/10. Breakfasts OK but can vary. Main reason I won't be coming...

Firstly, we would like to point out that we had a complete refurbishment last year and so the comment about 'tired and shabby' is a total mystery and stinks of 'miserable person with axe to grind'! Secondly, the breakfasts here are praised by almost everyone - see the other reviews. Thirdly, we support our staff entirely and think that they...

I had a fab holiday at Elen's castle Hotel, Dolwyddelan last week. This is a very homely and welcoming Hotel. In a Beautiful location in the Snowdonia National Park. I visit this great Hotel 2 or 3 times a year. The big advantage is it's a Dog Friendly Hotel.

There are really only 2 places to eat in Dolwyddelan, so we decided to try Elen's Castle Hotel and Restaurant on Saturday night, duly booking ahead by phoning for a reservation. The gentleman who took the booking was very professional and courteous. We had booked for 19:00 and arrived at 18:55 to be pointed to a side room with the...

I am sorry you had to wait. There had obviously been a mistake as your booking was for 7.30 p.m. according to the person who took your phone booking! We try our very best to accommodate all customers and if there is to be a delay we do our best to let you know, out of politeness, as we think...

I treated my other half to an adventure weekend in North Wales and spent 2 nights at Elens. The rooms were clean and bed was very comfortable! We arrived late on Friday and were told for places to go to get some food which was greatly appreciated. Had dinner in on Saturday and found the food very homely and tasty....

Thank you for your great review. You must have stayed in our twin room, room 12 as all other rooms do get wifi. Really sorry about that. It is the only bedroom that we can't seem to boost the wifi to because of the hugely thick slate walls! We are still working on this problem and can only apologise if...

We are twice here during our week long trip to Snowdonia. Fantastic food, good portions and a balanced choice of dishes. We were very happy both times we visited. The restaurant is well laid out and there is a small bar to have a drink while you pick your menu choices and wait for your table. The waiting staff were...
