Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
We have stayed here a number of times each year when we visit the area. The value of the hotel is excellent for us and the location is close enough to Destin but far enough away to avoid some of that traffic. This year we didn't have a sitter for our young Golden Retriever so we took him along. I really liked the dog walk area they have, including a couple stations of doggie bags to clean up after your dog. We stayed at a few other "dog friendly" hotels on the trip but no place had a nice dedicate area like this for your pet. With that in mind, be sure to visit the Destin dog park to let your dog get some exercise. Our dog absolutely loved it there too!

We just stay one night and I think was too expensive. This hotel is good for family that want cook, because includes a full kitchen but if you are going to stay for one or two night is too expensive. Very little pool, but the beach is very close. The extra bed not have any sheets and we requested to front desk. Is ok clean and we was able to do late checkout

Arrived and asked for the online rate as I was having trouble making the reservation on my phone. The lady at the desk was accommodating and booked us a room at the advertised rate.
The elevator was out of service so we had to drag our bags up to the second floor but breakdowns happen. The room was fine it was updated but didn't feel clean. The table and other flat surfaces felt tacky when touched and there was a shampoo bottle cap on the bathroom floor between the toilet and sink so clearly deep covid cleaning was not happening in this hotel. I travel with cleaning supplies so we wiped down the counters, tables, chairs and heated up the dinner we picked up at a nearby supermarket. We managed with the meager utensils but certainly there is not enough cookware to actually cook anything.
With few other hotel options in the immediate area, this place is fine for a night if you are just passing through, but I would recommend looking for something else for longer stays.

When we arrived our room was not clean. The bathroom had a horrible urine smell, the room was dingy and not inviting at all, even the grout lines were filthy on the floor tile. The bottom of the toilet had urine stains around it. We called to complain and the front desk clerk showed up with a dry mop that wasn't even installed on the handle correctly. He tried to explain to us how it was not his job, but house keeping's job (young 20 yr. old). My husband hand to explain to him what his responsibilities are as the front desk clerk and what is duties are to his guests. My husband also explained to him how unsanitary the conditions of the room and bathroom were. I asked the young man what did he plan on doing with the dry mop, he claimed he sprayed something on it. This was totally unacceptable!! We refused to stay at this location, we had the young man call his manager so that we can receive a full refund and stay elsewhere. Luckily we were able to find more suitable accommodations at the Hilton Garden. I will be checking my card to ensure our refund has been applied. I do not recommend this place at all, it says there have been renovations but I sure couldn't tell. Even the telephones are old, just a basic touch trim line house phone from the 80's, I haven't seen once of those in years!! Just pick up and dial 0. This hotel is extremely dated and needs a lot of work and upgrades. Please beware, this place does not have it together when is comes to disinfecting and cleaning and trying to protect guests against COVID, nor anything else for that matter. Very disappointing.

Only stayed and hour, dog barking constantly 2 room down, someone had poured powdered room deodorizer inside the AC unit and the smell was so strong gave you a head ache and a sore throat after only 1 hr in the room. front desk offered a refund if we wanted to check out due to the issues and said the manager would process the refund in the morning. so we left. now the manager is saying we smoked in the room (THAT IS FLAT OUT LIE) and will not give a refund. I will never stay at another candle wood suites or a hotel that is owned by this company again

We stayed there for 6 nights and thought it was very good WRT price and value.
Location was perfect for us. We had a top floor room on the back side so there was no noise.
No daily made service but that was fine with us.
We had a full ditched and the front desk was very accommodation when we needed anything.

Not really ADA accessible. I originally had the queen size bed accessible room with roll in shower reserved but when I asked for a rollaway bed for my daughter, I was told they did not have rollaway beds available. I’m an IHG gold elite member and was offered the king size accessible room at no charge. This room has a sofa bed option so I thought things would be fine. But…the bathroom had a tub. When I checked in I asked for a shower bench and was told they would bring one up soon. Never showed up that night so I had to go to front desk next morning and was told they didn’t have one! Young lady at front desk said in her 5 yrs there no one had ever asked for a shower bench….Really?? You have a lending locker with a knife block and pressure cooker but can’t afford $100 shower bench for your disabled guests. If you have any disability stay away from this place!

Room was spacious with full sized fridge which we loved. Comfortable beds with nice linens. Bath towels large and fluffy ( : Had room on top floor which was very quiet. Staff courteous and always asking if everything was ok or we needed anything. Loved the fact , also, that I could have my fur baby with me.

As soon as I walked in I could smell an odor in the air it wasn’t fresh! Rugs were filthy and there was a girl walking around w a huge dog! We were early so we waited at the pool. The pool area was disgusting, chairs broken, glass broken, bottle caps, I turned around and was not going to stay I was afraid of what the room looked like they were charging me $256 for the night! They told me they couldn’t give me my refund back only 1/2 - at that point it didn’t matter I wasn’t going to stay at a dirty hotel and worry about coming home w something.

We had a wonderful stay here. Our room was quiet and clean, very pleasant decor and all the usual amenities.
The best one IMO, and the reason we chose this place, is that they are PET FRIENDLY! Being able to bring our dog is a game changer for us, and they have a nice little dog walking area in the front.
Other non-pet observations: Nice comfy bed and big desk to spread out your laptop or whatever. Friendly people at the front desk. Great location and easy to drive to restaurants and shopping.
It was off season and we were there mainly for golf, not the beach, BUT there’s a great shortcut to a small public parking area & beach access which we took advantage of when we weren’t playing golf.
We look forward to staying here again!

No free breakfast, but they do offer $2.00 breakfast. You get a number of items. Breakfast bar, price of fruit, cereal and drink I believe....
They do have complementary coffee though.
