Wow!

We stayed in unit 304 earlier this year. After that visit we thought it could be our new home at the beach. Now it is our new home at the beach. We love it here. It was near perfect before but now the owners have done some upgrades. There is some new patio furniture, new lighting and window treatments. Everything still seems brand new and perfectly maintained. There is just so much attention to detail!

This time we had garage parking as well as an umbrella and chairs set up for us everyday at the beach.

If you have any question please private message me and I will try to help.

I just returned from a stay at The Beach Resort - April 5th-12th in unit 206. I traveled with my 4 children - ages 14, 12, 10 and 8. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the resort. The pool area was very clean and the kids loved it, as well as the hot tub. The only downsides to the pool, was that the pergola at one end of the pool created a rather large shaded area - not good if you wanted sun. Also, there needed to be a few more loungers set out. But overall, we enjoyed the pool area. The room was excellent for the price. While not super fancy, it was spacious and very clean. The deck was nice and had a good view of the pool area. There were only 2 issues I had with the unit - both tied to the master bedroom. The mattress was not that good and slumped to the right. The other issue was that there was a smell of cat urine in the closet. It was not overly strong, but when the closet was open was noticeable. The resort has a beach area that is across the street and just a short walk. They have loungers with umbrellas that are free for guests. The beach area is absolutely fantastic. The only beaches I have been to that are comparable are Siesta Key. The resort is also in a very convenient area to shopping and restaurants. Just a short distance away are Pompano Joe's, The Crap Trap and Dave's Fish House. I would highly recommend all. For the price, this is an outstanding option, and I would not hesitate to return.

We stayed in 215 via vrbo. Very nice beach decor and nice accommodations. Awesome pool especially for kids and never to crowded. Beach access is easy to get to and great location in Miramar and close to everything. Chair service on beach is great they work so hard.

My husband, two year old daughter and I stayed in unit 206 at Beach Resort on Sandy Coy for two nights. To begin, the code we were sent via email did not open the door upon our arrival and we had to contact Vacasa to send a new one. At first glance it was a very nice accommodation, with two separate bedrooms, each with their own bathroom, a full kitchen and living room area and a balcony overlooking the pool. However, it quickly went downhill. There was black hair on the sheets in the master bedroom, the shower, the toilet and the floor. I do not know how hair can remain on washed sheets, which leads me to believe the sheets were not changed. The floor throughout the condo felt grimmy as though it had not been properly washed in some time. I quickly learned that I had to wear my shoes as the bottom of my feet became brown from walking on the floor. I have worked in housekeeping at a number of hotels and resorts, with accommodations much bigger than this one and this lack of cleanliness is unforgivable, especially when paying over $200 per night. In addition to the cleanliness, the security lock on the door was broken. This is a big deal for us since we have a two year old and she knows how to open doors. It would have been an easy fix as the half that was on the wall was still working, it was just missing the half that should have been on the door. Since we were on the second floor and there was an open balcony walkway outside the door, it was a huge safety issue for us. (Those of you without children that are wondering why we don't keep an eye on our daughter, I assure we do. Kids are constantly running back and forth which is why security locks are so important.) To make matters even worse, there was a crew pressure washing around the pool the entire time we were there. Not only were we asked to move from the pool area, but it was so loud that we could not sit out on our balcony. To finish everything off, the management called us and asked if they could send in a plumber to access the pipes of the upstairs unit, while we were there! Such a huge disappointment, for our beach getaway trip. I would advise staying elsewhere.

We have stayed in various condo units in Miramar Beach since 1991 and have experienced few problems. Until we rented Unit 201 for ten weeks Dec. 25, 2021 thru Mar. 5, 2022. Maintenance problems upon arrival included broken dining room chair hidden in closet (we repaired with our tools), commodes need float repair (we adjusted and made proper repair), three lamps with no lightbulbs (Southern Resorts person brought 3 lightbulbs), unable to lock sliding glass door (Southern Resorts person brought stick to block door), sand covered floor with no broom in unit and vacuum was filled with sand and dirt (Southern Resort person brought broom and we cleaned the unit floor), silverware and glassware had to be hand washed by us, skillets had food caked on them and unable to use (we purchased skillets for our use during winter), bedroom television was not connected, numerous remotes were in unit with no instructions, towel holders in master bath either broken or hanging on, fitted sheet on master bed was grossly pilled (we purchased new fitted sheets and will take home with us), living room area rug so nasty we rolled it up and put it under bed (we purchased 6 throw rugs for our comfort and will take them home), tile grout in entire unit was filled with dirt and mold (it needs to be professionally cleaned because our shoes and socks picked up filth throughout our stay), shower stall filled with black mild (stall was so gross we purchased supplies and cleaned it)!!!

When we called the Southern Resorts number to report problems we reached a person at an answering service in the Caribbean Islands. One should never rent a unit with a number in the 200 series because the floor stays the same temperature as the outside, therefore we always had to wear socks and shoes and the furnace ran continuously. It is very obvious that neither Southern Resorts or the owner takes any pride in the unit; it needs some serious updates, cleaning and attention.

The property at Beach Resort is well maintained by Newman-Dailey, property management company. The pool area is exceptionally nice. We are confident there are nice units in the complex, but condo 201 is not one of them. Be advised that the beach access is quite a walk from the condos.

We will never rent another unit through Southern Resorts or VRBO . This is the first time we have ever experienced problems like listed above and posted a negative review.

You have to walk down the road about 1/4 of a mile to the designated beach access then cross the congested road to get to an area of the beach that is probably the nastiest in Destin. The resort is fairly new - built in 2006, but the units and pools are aging quickly. There is no on-site management company so people from other resorts and even the houses behind this resort use the pool so it can get very crowded. The shower heads are about 9 ft high in all of the units so it takes extra patients to get rinsed while showering. The elevators are slow and sometimes out of order. Several of the units I have stayed in had carpet that needed replacing badly - when you have small children you don't want them playing around on filth.
Overall - there are much better resorts in Destin.

We recently spent a week in unit 304. I love this unit! Everything is brand new. The unit is perfect. It is very clean and has a very well equipped kitchen. It has 1 bedroom with king bed, bunk room and 2 baths. There were even games, books and movies. These all seems brand new. The bed was very comfortable. It was more like a nice hotel bed rather thn a condo.

The complex has a very nice pool area and is just across the street from a beautiful private beach.

I have been going to Destin off and on for 35 years and have always stayed in different condos but this unit is special! I see myself always returning to this unit. It is an excellent value.

We stayed in room 204 and it was beautiful and very clean. The kids loved having their own bunk room. This unit has a tv in each room with its own DVD player. The kitchen was fully stocked with all your kitchen needs. The couch was uncomfortable though as you can feel the metal bar from the pull out couch, might be time to replace. The only other complaint was the master bed, the mattress was very firm as were the pillows. I woke up with a stiff neck each morning. The pool can't be beat though, the zero entry for the kids is nice. The pool furniture was the same as our last visit two years ago and it definitely needs replacing, too many torn chairs. As mentioned in other reviews it is a bit of a walk to the beach entrance. Not a big deal for adults but might be for the little ones after a long day at the beach. Overall we had a great time and look forward to staying again.

My wife, one year old, and I vacationed in Destin at the Beach Resort Condo Room 206, May 28th through June 4th. Both brother-in-laws and their wives also visited while we were there, and we had plenty of room to accomodate them in the condo as well. We had a great time and can’t wait to get back. We discovered this condo on Tripadvisor's new vaction rentals area and booked through VRBO.com but you can also view the room on beachcondosindestin.com. Be careful not to miss the turn-off to the resort from the Emerald Coast Parkway since there is only a small road sign on top of the stop sign denoting Sandy Cay Drive. The easiest way I found to recognize the turn-off is to look for the Sacred Heart Medical Group Sign which is in dark purple and easily seen from the Emerald Coast Parkway. Sandy Cay Drive is the 2nd turn to the right after the Sacred Heart Medical Group Sign. The condo is centrally located to everything. McDonald’s is about ½ mile down the Emerald Coast Parkway if you turn to the right, as well as a Burger King and Win Dixie grocery store about 4 miles in the same direction which puts you near the Baytowne Wharf shopping outlets and restaurants. The hotel is not more than three or four miles from the Mid Bay toll bridge turn-off which is right beside Wal-Mart, Bass Pro-shop, and the Destin Commons shopping outlet. All of which can be reached by turning left on to the Emerald Coast Parkway from Sandy Cay Drive. The condo was very clean and nicely decorated with a full kitchen, washer and dryer combo, free Wi-Fi, two televisions with cable, DVD player, stereo with cd, one bath with shower and one bathroom with a tub-shower combo. The condo consisted of one king bedroom, two full size bunk beds inset in the wall just off the main hall just outside the guest bathroom, and a queen sleeper sofa in the living room. The bunk beds supported adults quite easily. I believe every room in this resort has the same set-up with minor differences in furniture and decor. At $975 (1171.00 after taxes and cleaning fees) this condo was a steal for this time of year. I did see other units in this condo on vrbo.com that rented for much more than this, possibly due to upgrades in the unit or inclusion of the amenities card which offers discounts and free tickets to some of the area attractions. We were able to rent from Thursday to Thursday instead of the usual required Saturday to Saturday for most condos in the area, which was a plus for us. There is a 3000 sq. ft. zero entry pool with two halves. The smaller side felt heated. The zero entry pool was great for my one-year-old to play in. Both sides of the pool have parts that are 5 feet deep. There is a large hot tub beside the pool area, several lounge chairs around the pool, as well as patio chairs and tables in shaded areas around the pool. There is a large men and women’s bathroom in a separate building right by the pool. The pool area is just across the road from the beach. The private beach access is about 2 blocks down the road from the condo, but you can gain beach access through the open gate area just across from the condo and walk down to the condo’s private beach area that way if you so choose. Included in the rental, are two chairs and a beach umbrella for free. The pool area was never crowded with 6 -7 families at most using the pool at one time. The condo sleeps 6 easily. There were plenty of towels and blankets. Pots, pans, glasses, plates, blender, toaster, coffee maker, etc. were all present in the kitchen area as well as a small pantry by the refrigerator. There is a nice table which seats 6-8 people in the living area. You must use a parking pass on your dash to park in the parking lot just outside the room. There is a set of elevators that were kept very clean just outside our room. There are luggage dollies for your use located by the elevator on the bottom floor. The garbage chute beside the elevators was a nice extra too. Some of the condos have access to the gated parking garage under the condo, but this room did not. To get to the pool, just go to the parking garage on the elevator and then punch in the code on the gate to the pool area, which is opposite the elevators in the parking garage. Go through the pool area to the gate by the road and punch in the gate code to get out to the main road so you can walk down to the private beach area. The private beach area is not overcrowded and the water is crystal clear. The sand at the shoreline beneath the water is a little more lumpy than at other areas of the public beach so watch your step. Just make sure to be a little more sure-footed in the water. Overall, I think this condo would be great for anyone wanting a well-priced beach vacation in the heart of Destin. My family and I are looking forward to returning.

We just stayed in unit 312 and enjoyed our third visit at Beach Resort. The unit was clean and decorated nicely in a blue beach motif style. Big screen TV in the living room and plenty of comfy couch seating. The kitchen ware and cooking utensils were limited though. Master bedroom mattress was great too bad the pillows weren't, very thin and cheap. Shower head in the master bath also needs replacing. Do love that the unit has its own washer/dryer and daily beach set up. The kids enjoyed the bunk beds in the second room. Overall would recommend this unit. Great view from the balcony and the heated pool is a plus.

Hello~ we were guests at the condo (rented through Wyndham Vacation rentals). The particular condo we rented didn't allow pets & wasn't wheelchair accessible but, I think they are mostly privately owned. The owners use these companies to manage the rentals. Best of luck.
