Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
The staff is nice, but hotel needs work. We booked this hotel because the places we normally stay were full and overpriced. The hotel is dated, worn, broken, and dingy. Yes, there are cockroaches. On arrival I could tell the room has been cleaned. The sheets and towels were clean. The room AC and water worked. The faucet leaks. The couch and doors are visible grimy. There is a mini fridge and microwave. Both were clean and working. Breakfast is free and consists of grab and go packaged items. One morning the fruit was molded. Only beverages are coffee. No milk or juice. They need a person to come fix the broken lobby bathroom, juice machine, laundry counter, first floor ice machine. Housekeeping doesn't come daily. You'll need to track down your own extra fresh towels, toilet paper, trash can liners, Kleenex. You'll be taking out your own trash. The are trashcans on each floor. There is beach access via a long boardwalk. You are directly across the street from the Silver Sands Outlet, Starbucks, Dominos, Chick Fil A. You can walk to those places and the grocery store down the street. Be careful crossing the road, because the cars don't pay attention!

Ok, the linens were clean and the path ti the beach was nice.
Checking in, there was someone sleeping in the breakfast room. The first room they gave me , with king bed, hadn't been serviced from last guest. Only one available was with 2 queens.
The room we got wasn't terrible, but generally dirty. The toilet constantly ran and had been for awhile. Towel rack above toilet was falling off. Air gap around room door.

Room was large, we asked for nonsmoking, room was posted nonsmoking, but it reeked of smoke. Carpet was sticky, we wore shoes the whole time. Pool was VERY small, deepest end was about 4 1/2 feet, so kids were disappointed. It doesn't really sit directly on the beach, you must walk on a boardwalk to get to the beach, but the beach and ocean were beautiful. On the plus side, it was right across the road from Silver Sands Outlet Mall!

Had plans to stay 4 nights here. When I arrived with my kids I noticed it was dirty outside, but thought if the rooms were ok, I would stay. After the first night stay I realized there was roaches so I was out of there. I went to the desk and talked to Rolando. He was really nice refunded the other nights I was to stay and told me to call back in the morning and PAM the GM could refund me the night I was charged for. If they refunded my money I agreed I wouldn’t post anything. I call PAM today and she said she wouldn’t refund my money. So here we are. This place is filthy dirty on the outside. The rooms were nasty inside with bugs! Stay away unless you like sleeping with bugs!! I’m positive there infested! This was room 214

This hotel was bad from the start. The sheets were dirty. The comforter had a hole in it. The blanket had a large cigarette burn. I honestly don’t know what’s worse the roaches or the dirty sheets. I went to the front desk to request new sheets. I must say the hotel front desk clerk was nice but he couldn’t really help. He couldn’t provide clean sheets and advised me to wait until after 11pm when his co-worker arrived. I never got clean sheets. I am literally siting here with every light on in the room because the roaches crawl out like crazy when it’s dark. I actually took all my bags and belongings out of this room and placed them in the car after I saw the second roach. I have killed a total of six roaches now. If there was another hotel available in the area I would leave tonight. I guess the loud obnoxious drunk people in the breezeway are too inebriated to notice how run down this hotel is. I will NEVER come back. It’s loud, dirty and not worth it. Do not be fooled by the closeness to the beach down the broken board walk. Just save yourself a headache and the risk of anxiety from the roaches and book elsewhere.

If you want clean towels to shower don’t book at La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Miramar Destin Beach, they don’t have any. Not the best “welcome”after a long drive from Texas. No room service and nobody care to let us n ow before checking in!!!

We checked in and the room smelled musty. Bathroom floor was sticky, overall it wasn’t a bad experience until we woke up. My wife and I found baby and juvenile German roaches crawling all throughout our room. Under our clothes on top of the TV everywhere. When I went to the front of the front desk I was told that they’re very sorry, that they get pest treatments regularly. When asked for a refund or discount I was told sorry we can’t help you(this is after showing them the video of all the roaches)

The only good thing I have to say about this hotel is it has a comfortable bed. It’s dirty, outdated smells bad and a truly awful experience to sleep in. Ripped dirty carpets, dead roaches on the floor, the shower head is literally growing, the sofa is so dirty it’s hard to tell what the original colour was? The AC sounds like a 747 taking off all night. A banging noise could be heard either under the floor or up above every 5 minutes. Ear plugs were needed to sleep. Read the other reviews, they really don’t lie. I will never stay at this chain of hotels again.

What an absolute nightmare! Several issues, the room was dirty, there was a door that led out to a balcony with a sign that said the door must remain locked at all times. The only problem is that the lock was on backwards and you had to lock it with a key on the inside, but could simply be opened from the outside. The front desk clerk said it was important to keep it locked as they have had several problems at the hotel. Lastly there were upwards of 20 people in the parking lot smoking pot and we just didn't have an overall good feeling for our safety. I went to the front desk and asked for a refund and found another hotel for our stay. the front desk person said she couldn't do that but called the manager. The manager got on the phone and started cussing at me and said there would be no refund. I told her about the lock and the security issue and she said that drugs are legal and that i was expecting too much. I have contact the corporate office to let them know about the issues.

We walk in the room and it smells like mildew. We asked for a balcony but the door is locked from the outside. The floor hasnt been vacuumed in a long time. The couch in the room has stains all over it. I mean BAD! My dog kept trying to get under the couch to get something... I didnt even want to know what it was. The common areas are disgusting. Breakfast is still bagged. No thank you.

I’m booking here for the 3rd year in a row. It’s never been nasty at any of my stays and you have a nice little walking trail to the beach. She’s always been old reliable to me personally!
Have never stayed in such a dump in my entire life can't believe it Is even Legal and no state agency has shut them down. Stay away from this disaster !!!
There are more places to choose from in the Miramar Beach area.
