Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
GREAT location, however, Unit 308 has some issues: black growth on vents, mattress cover was slick and sheets slip around, toilets are low profile and too short, bring your own ice to start off (emptied tray), rust on closet door. Walk out to beach and chairs and umbrella provided! Beautiful beach! Not sure I would return to this specific unit, go to 4th floor for better views!

We went with oceanreef and reserved this property, they were very friendly and professional, that is until I e-mailed them about some problems we were having with our room, like one of the sliding glass doors was broke so we coul not open it after driving for twelve hours to get there. The condo was very cute but outdated, when we went to bed the first night I pulled back the bedspread to find a bug crawling on the pillow and hair all over the bed, so needless to say, we slept on the sleeper sofa covering it with my own blanket that I brought, and thats where we slept. There was black mold on the top of the shower against the wall, no iron in the room, just a ironing board. We still enjoyed our trip because the view is beautiful...just dissapointed a little because oceanreef never contacted me about my concerns.

We stayed in unit 406. The unit was nice, but needed a good cleaning. Carpets especially on the stairs were discolored and very dirty. The unit met our needs. We enjoyed the beautiful view. There is a master on main level with a bath. Upstairs there is a queen bed in an open loft space looking over living area. We weren't aware it was open to living area so I thought I should share that with you. Walking through upstairs queen bedroom area there is another full bath and then another room with 2 twin beds. You need to walk through queen bedroom area to get to bath and the other twin beds. We loved the location. Beautiful beach area. Loved that we had 2 complimentary beach chairs and an umbrella during our stay. Restaurants and grocery were within walking distance or a very short drive. The Outlet Center was also walking distance.

Stayed in Windancer 110, 1st floor. Loved it! Pros: Great ground floor view of the ocean, very clean. Beach access without having to go through the gate with a code. Beach chairs provided were good and the young men assisting with them were very helpful and polite. Easy pool access. We stayed first week of March and pool was heated. Prompt to respond to questions. All appliances worked well.
Cons: Wifi not good for doing office work on laptop, fine for just browsing internet. The mattress in master bedroom has a great deal of sloping to the middle - it needs replacement or better support from below bed. Dryer needs lint trap changed. It appears full of lint but no visible way to clean it - drying takes a bit longer than expected but did the job.
Tips: It was just my husband and me so plenty of room. If staying with more people, be aware that there is only one closet for hanging clothes. Brought my own clothes washing detergent and softening sheets, just in case needed and it was needed.
Would stay at Windancer again, very happy with location, condo, parking and beach access and host responsiveness.

Second trip to Windancer. This trip was #403 and let me say it’s amazing. One little maintenance issue they quickly cured. Smoke detector hanging off the wall. Worked but unsightly and didn’t want anyone to think we did it. Little confusing on the beach chairs. Checked in everyday and never made it to the front row of chairs. Asked about it and the reply was confusing. Not a huge issue but for 7 days I would think we would of progressed to the front 403 is a great unit. The vaulted ceiling makes it feel very roomy. Room very well equipped. We didn’t cook but noted everything you may ever need was there. Ate out at all the area has to offer in the evenings and nothing is real far away. The place is just as well taken care of and beautiful as last year. Look forward to visiting again and definitely recommend it to others

Third trip to Windancer condos and loved it. Unit 411 this time and let me tell you it's amazing. The unit is very nicely decorated and very up to date. Love the big shower. They keep security in mind as well. This year we traveled with small children and the high reach locks on the patio doors made us feel better. The hotel style lock on the front door ensured the little ones wouldn't disappear. Down side is the elevator had several outages. The unit is on the fourth floor so that was a downer. Otherwise book with confidence and we will be back.

We got in to our unit Wednesday night and was awoke to a loud dirty construction zone outside our door of unit 107 early the next morning. We were advised by the workers it would continue all day and through out the weekend. Vacasa only offered us a partial refund.

We stayed here 4 nights...only thing going for it is view...not clean at all. .very old and poor condition....we covered the bed with our own sheets and covered couch with our own throw...doorwall was awful to open and blinds were in disarray... We paid $640 for four nights and cleaned place...also washed all towels ....

The property is conveniently located in a nice quiet area of Miramar Beach. The close proximity to the beach, gorgeous view & complimentary chair service could not be better. Unfortunately, those are the only positive comments.
The unit (401) was absolutely filthy upon arrival. The floors had not been mopped or swept, shoes were literally sticking to the ground & 4 yr olds feet were black after playing barefoot. Kitchen cabinets and walls were splattered with what appeared to be strawberry jelly. Screen completely missing from kitchen window. Ants crawling in kitchen. Fridge reeked of fish. Clogged drains. Sand covering end tables. Both patio screens were off hinges. Missing light bulbs. Sheets & furniture covered in long black hair. Window sills covered in dirt. Alarming amount of dust on ceiling fan in loft area. After traveling 13 hours, the condition of this unit was beyond disappointing. 2 phone calls & 2.5 hrs later, Ocean Reef Resorts finally contacted me & sent over maintenance & housekeeping. While staff were friendly, I would absolutely never rent from them again. The housekeeper was very sweet (spoke very little English) & apologized stating the unit had clearly not been inspected. She cleaned what she could, however, we had to wash the sheets & do most of the cleaning ourselves as they did not provide her with spare bedding or even basic cleaning supplies. Shame on you Ocean Reef Resorts.
As for the washing machine, bring lots of detergent bc it is literally the smallest washer I've ever seen. We easily did over 30 loads in 6 days bc the washer would barely hold more than a few items.

We rented unit 405 n the Windancer Condominium in Destin on Miramar Beach. This was to be a 3 bedroom 2 bath unit with one king bed, two Queen beds and two twin beds. The second bedroom was a loft. The third room had no windows or closet and is not really a bedroom. The microwave did not work properly. There was one kitchen towel and only one extra roll of toilet paper for a one week stay. We paid $2,312 for this unit - never again. The view was great, but not worth the price we paid. Don't waste your time or money.

It's possible that owners are reluctant to let pets stay in their properties in case future guests have allergies? That could be a reason why many owners have a no-pet policy. Also, the turn-around time for housekeeping to clean in between guests is pretty short. You might be a responsible pet owner, but others are not. It might be hard for housekeeping to thoroughly clean up after a messy pet that has soiled rugs, or torn up furniture. It's a shame that irresponsible pet owners mess it up for those of us with well-trained animals!

Rita is correct. Be sure to read reviews of that first floor condo. We had a lovely condo on the third floor with great reviews. I think it was 311. They do have elevators. Good luck. Lovely location.
There are more places to choose from in the Miramar Beach area.
