This is a lovely hotel with a good atmosphere. Very friendly staff. They had a good selection of bar snacks and beers. A great fire after a long day on the hills can't beat that for comfort. If your near this hotel it is a must to go in and relax.

Enjoyed dinner on Friday (22 of us), great service and food especially considering size of group. Returned for today with our young daughter and it was a lovely lazy Sunday lunch. We are lucky to have this lovely child friendly pub on our doorstep.

Popped in here for lunch today on the way back from Hogmanay celebrations in Edinburgh. I ordered the scampi and my boyfriend got the Scottish breakfast. Both were amazing and he said it was one of the best fry ups he's ever had. The homemade chips and tartare sauce were both divine. Staff were lovely, especially considering it was in...

My wife had a Gin and tonic - they have a selection of about 30 Gins - and I had a fab pint of Belhaven bitter. The place felt so nice that we decided to stay for lunch. I had haggis scotch egg and my wife had chicken and mushroom pie, both were totally fabulous. They even brought a bowl...

great food, menu changes regularly, good 'local' atmosphere, everyone very friendly and helpful. Service good as well. On main road as you go through the village so easy to find and get to. Parking at side of pub.

We found this pub on a Dog Friendly pub guide and we were not disappointed. It is located close to a scenic walk that is not for the faint hearted. The friendly staff served us a lovely pub lunch although we arrived back after the last order time of 2.30pm We had a delightful halloumi & roasted pepper sandwich and...

My wife and I stopped in for lunch and were very happy with the welcome and the quality of the food available in the public bar. We will definitely stop in again when and if the occasion arises. We did not stay at the hotel so cannot comment on the rooms etc.

I chose the hotel purely based on location for a business trip. I arrived at 9pm on a Sunday night and did not receive a warm welcome. The female staff member behind the bar did not offer any help with my two bags and suitcase and there was no chat, guidance to the facilities/services and she merely led the way...

After a resurgence early in the year it's back to same old if poorer. Regulars consistently expressing private views about the quality of the offer are resorting to bottled beer. The selection of cask ale whilst from a local micro brewer is turning people off.
