If visiting Beeston Castle, this is very close by and convenient. It is quite a small pub but has outside seating next to the canal. The food and drinks are quite standard but cooked well and at a reasonable price. It did take awhile for it to arrive but all were hot and good to eat.

Staff told us that they were busy and had no where to seat us, every table was free but one, and they stuff 5 of us and a dog into the corner, it was a squeeze. It took an hour just for some cheap old mircowaved freezed food, looked pathetic really, food was tasteless just normal supermarket food, no fresh...

Had a lovely one-night stay in this pretty area of the Peak District. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Our rooms were quite large, as were the bathrooms. Everything had just been redecorated so was very fresh. The towels were very fluffy! Also had a nice evening meal there, portions were huge; the only disappointment was breakfast. Very expensive...

Beautiful views, delicious food, very nice room, friendly very helpful staff. We really enjoyed our 2 nights in thi B&B. Room newly updated, very clean and comfortable. Food is fantastic, just to much of it. The hardiest of appetites will not be disappointed.

Staying in self catering close by and noticed this nice little pub on the road to Buxton. Good choice on standard menu if a little pricey compared other similar places we ate in. We chose of the specials board and enjoyed a lovely venison casserole. Staff pleasant and helpful. Decor getting a little tired and needs upgraded and brightened. Would...

Not very busy. Ordered steak sandwich got a steak and chips. Ordered fish finger sandwich without tartar sauce - it was smothered in it. Asked for French mustard - never received. No steak knife for my incorrect meal. 50minute wait. Over priced. Won't be going back.

This was our first visit with the new owners and it will be our last. Order was taken quickly and for the drinks to arrive but from there it went downhill. Really long wait for the food and no one really enjoyed their meals for numerous various reasons Staff pleasant however

Had heard mixed reviews so decided to try myself. Sat down and perused the menu. Plenty of choice. Barmaid came across to take our drinks order - nice friendly welcome. Returned with drinks and took our food order. Twenty-five minutes later it arrived - nicely presented and great tasting. Afterwards ordered a dessert and almost as long a delay to...

Apparently the fish is fresh?! Well it may be but the chef doesn't appreciate that. A friend and I both ordered fish and chips recently and it was the worse thing I have ever tried. The batter was burnt, the fish was solid and pretty much non existent. The chef apparently blamed a new batter. Why the hell don't they...
