Dear all, in August 2016 we, two German backpackers, arrived in Ardrossan. It was late in the day, rainy and we were heading for a ferry to the Isle of Arran. After many attempts to find a room to sleep, we were welcomed in St. Rule House, experiencing true Scottish hostility. We wished to try Scottish fish & chips and...

Stayed at St Rule last night. Accommodation was very comfortable and Ian & Debbie are great hosts. The house is really special and I was interested to hear about its history. Breakfast set me up for the day. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay. Kevin xx

I needed to stop at Ardrossan twice, when travelling to and from Islay. I found St Rule House on the web, and I have to say the website does not do it justice. I stayed at two other B&Bs in my November 2016 trip, both at Tarbert on the Kintyre Peninsula, and they were both more expensive and of poorer...

Spent 3 nights here recently. Very customer focused and much attention to detail, the lovely antiques making breakfast a stylish affair. Ian and Debbie manage to marry professionalism friendliness and helpfulness in just the right percentages. Bed large and comfortable. We shared a bathroom with our son and family but were able to use the downstairs bathroom, so no queuing...

The worst thing about this hotel is that I now do not which bed and breakfast to choose for my next visit to Ardrossan. I used to stay at a place near the sea front which was equally wonderful, however the owner was on holiday and recommended this place. As other guests mention, this B and B is quirky and...

I attended this b&b with 2 other people and we were warmly welcomed by Debbie and her husband. We stayed whilst attending the Open golf competition. The location was perfect (only a 10 min drive to the Royal Troon car park and plenty of restaurants nearby). The room was clean with plenty of space. My only issue was the bathroom....

The room we selected, for were given a choice, was far more comfortable than one is likely to find in the better hotels in the country. It was well equipped with one of the most comfortable beds and all things needed to make the stay here memorable. Debbie, our host, has an in-depth knowledge of the country's history and of...

B&B so good I went back and will do so again. Very handy location, central but quiet, Beautifully decorated, warm and comfortable house. The owners make it extra special due to their great welcome at the same time you are left to do your own thing and given privacy, Very spacious rooms, great breakfast and Debbie makes lovely banana loaf!...

Great place to stay over. Fantastic accommodation, great food and warm genuine hosts. The room was not en-suite; however there is a large private bathroom right next door. The decor is very much akin to a medieval castle with suits of armour, swords etc. adorning the walls. The breakfasting room was pretty special and the food lived up to this.
