I arrived starving and was a bit whingey about the length of time my meal took to arrive but when it did I realised why. This is fine dining in a Hotel I never even knew existed. I had the lamb which was delicious and then the sticky toffee pudding which came with its own pot of sauce which I...

i went here for a meal with my partner, the food was very good could do with a couple of tweaks, but what let me down was the staff noise, there was 4 of them sitting just behind a wall behind me and they were a bit noisy. the steak was good but lost on the plate for that price...

We had a great meal here tonight in Deveau's. We had the 7pm menu which was such good value. The service was excellent, friendly and prompt and food fab. Having coffee in the lounge afterwards was also a bonus.

Great Sunday lunch last week at the Open Arms. Good range of Main courses; the chicken wrapped haggis and roast beef options were beautiful and the house red superlative. The puds were pleasant; marvellous cranachan and raspberries, the sticky toffee pudding perhaps less so. The staff were great; attentive and pleasantly humorous. At around £75 for a 2 course lunch...

Deveau's Brasserie within the hotel looks out over the green to Dirleton castle. The staff are all very welcoming, friendly and efficient. There is a good selection of starters, mains and desserts to choose from, with the emphasis being on local produce, cooked to a high standard. Can highly recommend the Haggis Wellington as a starter - even if you...

The Dawn Patrol (from Northants County GC), have just concluded their 2016 Tartan Tour where we stayed at the Open Arms. Our stay was perfect in every respect, the bedrooms, breakfasts and the 2 dinners we had here. The breakfast menu was extensive and the food well cooked and presented. The dinner menu was imaginative, featuring a lot of local...

Stayed the night and regretted after breakfast that we hadn't had dinner in the hotel the previous night - the Castle Inn is not to be recommended and the menu at the open Arms looked very good. Breakfast certainly was! The bedroom was a small double and was fine as a single with a good bed and most importantly, good...

Leaving it until mid August before calling the hotel to ask about accommodation for the end of that month, we were told that they were fully booked except for a small room and, with impressive honesty, they stressed that it was small, but as our stay was for one night only we said we would take it. Upon arriving early...

Had a lovely stay at the open arms.. Beautiful village and location with our room looking over the Dirleton castle! The staff were all very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The food was delicious dining one night in the brasserie and one in the library. Both nights had lovely 3 course meals, well cooked and lots of choice. Restaurant was very...

Food in the bistro restaurant was absolutely first class. There were 4 of us and we all had different starters and main courses. None of us had the slightest complaint. The service was superb, the staff were friendly and efficient and the food - from the 'special' roast beef to fish, chicken & steak, was all of a very high...
