Detailed Reviews
This was a beautifully located homestay with spacious rooms, nice linens, and nice bathroom/shower in room. We enjoyed eating our breakfasts and dinners out on the back deck overlooking the tree lined river. The hosts were kind and helpful, organizing dependable rides for us to and from the nearby park. Would stay here again, for sure!

Room Tip: It is easy to get to and from the park from here. Other home stays in the area are not as well...

We spent 4 nights in Diana homestay. Its about 2km from Mulu National Park entrance- about 20min for walk. The house is big and rooms basic but enough for the jungle experience. Electricity is from 6pm to 6am. We also had case that generator stopped working and then were only flashlights and powerbanks. The small shop is about 500m ahead, but you can also get drinks from Diana with the same price.
The river is good to swim! Its refreshing and safe, like jackpot in this climate (we had 81% humidity and 31 deegrees feels like 36 degrees one day). If there is lot if rain, the water level will increase until the house!
Definitely goid choice to stay! If you have local sim card, there is also 1-2 points of network.

From the moment we booked, we were made to feel wonderfully welcome. We changed details of our booking a few times but Diana was endlessly warm and patient.
The rooms are clean, very large and comfortable, with 24 hour electricity and our own attached spacious bathroom.
Wise advice was readily available about anything we wanted to do in the National Park.
We had many meals at Diana's - lots of effort went into beautiful presentation and delicious food.
The balcony was a key feature of our stay, with magnificent views of the river and national park. It was a great place to make new friends with other guests.
Nothing was too much trouble for Diana and her family.
We would not hesitate to stay again when we next visit Mulu.

My sister and I stayed here as a cheaper option outside of Mulu, and we were the only ones there since tourism just opened. I really liked how quiet it was, how close we were to nature - a little too close maybe, since there were lots of huge cicadas and insects I have no idea the name of. One made it into our plate by chance as we were having dinner, and another came in through the window during our bath.
Besides all that, the place was still clean enough, cooling in the evening, and the food by Diana is amazing. I love her hospitality and services. She was able to drive us to Mulu Park when we didn't want to walk, and also to and from the airport, although with a fee.

What a fabulous place to stay! Our family of 2 adults and 2 young kids (6&4yo) really enjoyed our 3 nights here. Breakfast was basic but perfect, the rooms big and the girls and puppies living at the house a total bonus for our kids.
Also would recommend booking tour guide Mr Desmond for the trips to the caves and night safari. What a man! He knows how to spot insects and animals and made that tour unforgettable for our children!

I stayed in Diana Homestay for 3 nights. Dinner is 25RM and the transport service is 5 RM one time 1 person. The room is clean and comfortable. The food Diana cooked is delicious, too. The electricity is provided from 6pm to 6 am. When it's sunny, it can be very hot during daytime in the homestay without a fan.
