I really enjoyed the experience of getting close to nature in Mulu National Park. I stayed in a deluxe garden bungalow, which is well suited to guests getting wet and muddy all day. There's a wet room with separate toilet and shower. A minute walk from the tour meet point and the restaurant. The bed was very comfortable and there is a fan and Aircon in the room. There is a laundry service and hair dryers available for a deposit through reception. The reception is also the same as the National Park and the place to go for tour bookings. But I recommend booking tours over email in advance. There is a small shop if ( like me!) you forget essentials like a torch, rain poncho or dry bag.
Breakfast is included and vouchers are provided by reception on check-in. The restaurant food is good quality but a little expensive for Malaysia. There is a great view of the river.
Transport to and from the airport is by private taxi for a small fee. The taxi drivers meet travellers at the airport exit ( the airport is very small) and the security point at the National Park will call to arrange the return journey.
The only point of improvement I wish to highlight is that as an independent traveller, I had to pay my deposit through a bank transfer from my UK bank account. Which involved large bank fees. It would be helpful if particularly international travellers could pay on credit card.
Overall I highly recommend this accomodation as a place to explore Mulu National Park.

I am so glad that we decided to stay in the accommodation within the park for 3 nights. It made it so convenient for us to join the many guided walks that we had signed up far as the meeting point was just 5 mins walk away from our room. Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. There is no TV and wifi but we didn't miss it one bit. We occupied ourselves by reading and playing cards and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. I loved being able to disconnect and bond with my kids while being surrounded by the nature. All our meals were at the Mulu cafe within the park. Food quality was good and reasonably priced. There was a decent variety and we didn't get tired of the food.

I didn't stay at the National Park but did book the canopy walk, night walk, cave walk and Pinnacle hike with caves on the way with the ParkOffice. They were very good at responding to emails and very efficient when we arrived. Camp 5 is a very well run camp. Beautiful location on the river bank. Well equipped huge kitchen with ample stoves and utensils for everyone to cook at once! Delighted to be able to buy cans of soft drink and there was also dried food and tins of food for sale. Also unlimited free drinking water. Clean washrooms with welcome cold water showers. No power sockets and limited lighting so power packs and head torches were really needed. Only took us 2.5 hours to hike there from the boat. Really enjoyed the boat ride to get there. The caves were well worth seeing and we also enjoyed the stop at the village to buy locally made crafts and read the extensive information boards.

Stayed at Mulu national park inside Melinau hostel which is a park accomodation.
It was clean , but Aircon was not working, the two ceiling fans doesn't really cool you or your bed. But the climate gets cold by midnight . So it's ok.
Stayed in 8 bed dorm melinau ladies hostel at mulu national park from 20 th to 24th. It was safe and secure. No mosquitos. Breakfast included. But only till 9:30 am. No toiletries provided. You have to bring your own soap and shampoo. No drinking water just kettle and cups. Hot Water at shower not really hot but only gets Luke warm.
It is self check in, they tell you the way to your lodge or hostel but the key provided to me to the hostel theytook it within an hour, so I was without keys but the western lady staying in dorm had the key with her all the time. I was basically locked out after my evening tour as my roommate locked and went. Park HQ closes by 5 so I had to literally run around to find my roommate for key which trust me you don't want to do after a tiring walk in the park. Atleast they should provide the room key to all dorm people so that when someone comes back from the tour, they don't have to run around for the key. I was alone after first day so I got the whole dorm for myself which was cool. It's a bit isolated and nearby staff quarters are there so not to worry.
I would say for the price they charge 74 ringgit per night for dorm room, it's not worth it as the air con not working no drinking water and fans are really out of place. What was good was it was clean.

The garden bungalow and rainforest lodge rooms were spotless and very comfortable. The café offered a good selection of food, but we also had excellent meals at the restaurant across the bridge immediately outside the park HQ. ( they also offer free WiFi ). The activities on offer were varied and reasonably priced. I’d recommend the guided bat cave walk, the canopy skywalk and the visit to Long Iman with a guided walk to the waterfalls. ( we also did the evening river cruise, but this isn’t needed if you do the Long Iman trip as you travel on the same part of the river). Rogely, our guide at Long Iman was superb. His knowledge of the area, and of the uses of indigenous plants in the jungle was fascinating. We wished we’d had time to stay with Rogely at his Long Iman home stay and enjoy another day of his guiding and local knowledge. Photos and info accompany this review.

Never known a park so well appointed. Kilometers of walkways, wooden ties to explore the rainforest independently....safe. Tested the tree tower, deer cave langcave, canopy skywalk ... to see, do and waterfall solo. Guides are enthusiasts who teach you to see and hear! For wildlife it would be necessary to move 5-6km from the center anyway. You may hear and see if not birds, insects monkey frogs sometimes As for the bats less impressive than expected but they are there. Nickel accommodation, spacious, beautiful garden and impeccable restaurant I forgot the plane... is part of the adventure!

I stayed at the Park, and the room and bathroom were huge, spacious, and clean. The bed was really comfortable, and the food at the cafe was both delicious and reasonably priced. The staff were incredibly friendly and professional. While there’s no Wi-Fi, there are so many activities to enjoy that you won’t even miss it. I loved my stay and would definitely return—there’s still so much I didn’t get to experience!

If you are interested in the rainforest and nature, Mulu is somewhere you have to go! We stayed 3 nights and that was a good amount of time as there are MANY walks and guided tours. Make sure you go to the bat exodus and the cave walks. Just ask the helpful staff at Park HQ and they can explain it all. You can pay by card for activities and accomodation at Park HQ, but the Mulu Cafe is cash only.

The accommodation at Rainforest Lodge was a good introduction to the area. The bed was comfortable and everything was very clean. We were able to visit 4 of the caves ~ some have a lot of steps. After emerging from Clearwater cave you can cool off in the river. Our local guide was very informative about the local flora and fauna.
