Although the weather and accommodations were very good, the fishing was a little slow. This is my eleventh year of fishing from Greenwich, I would not think of going anyplace else. Janice is a great host and makes sure everything goes smoothly.

My girlfriend and I enjoyed an amazing stay on Long Island. Miriam Cartwright (the proprietor at Greenwich) gave us so many fantastic suggestions and didn't steer us wrong one time. We rented a car and toured the island from tip to tip stopping and enjoying amazing vistas, while finding hidden treasures where privacy and beauty were in abundance. The room...

We stayed here during the Regatta and had a wonderful time. Miriam the owner is wonderful. She was helpful, suggested places to eat and do. She even picked us up when our car broke down. The pool was great for the kids, the sunsets simply amazing each night. There were kayaks for the kids. Hotel is near Deadman's Cay and...

My buddy and I stopped at the Greenwich Creek Lodge during a multi-island trip through the Bahamas in our single engine airplane. (9 islands in 6 days) We chose GCL because it was near the Deadman's Cay airport. I didn't make a reservation until the morning we landed, but we got lucky there were rooms available and it turned out...

I spent a wonderful weekend in Long Island flyfishing. The Greenwich Creek Lodge is run by the ever smiling, friendly Janice, who will do everything to make your stay memorable. Janice knows every restaurant, everyone and every place worth seeing on the Island. The Lodge does not serve food. We ate good meals at restaurants nearby. Enjoy!

I've stayed at Greenwich Creek twice, both during the Long Island Regatta. The first time was with several girlfriends and the second was with my boyfriend. The family who runs the lodge will make you feel so welcome. They also know EVERYONE on the island so whatever you need they can help you find it, book it, see, it, whatever!...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Greenwich Creek Lodge is located in the small settlement of Cartwright's, a sub-settlement of Deadmans Cay, on one of the remote islands in the Southern Bahamas away from the hustle and bustle of the city life of Nassau. Greenwich Creek Lodge is located approximately about two to three miles south of the Deadmans Cay airport on the western side of the island, directly on the waterfront. It is slightly south of the center of Long Island, which makes it the ideal location to base your trip from. Rental cars can be arranged, at time of booking, to guarantee availability. All of the rooms are air-conditioned with ceiling fans, tiled floors, and an ensuite bathroom. They each have a microwave, a refreshment center and/or refrigerator, an electric kettle, a flat screen TV, a table with two chairs, individual water heater, a safe deposit box, a blow dryer and toiletries are provided. A few of the rooms have kitchenettes. Irons and Ironing boards and first aid kits are available on request (at the front desk/bar area). Each room opens onto a wraparound verandah, where one can meditate or just sit and relax while enjoying breathtaking sunsets, sipping on a beverage of choice. Greenwich Creek Lodge has a reception area, which includes a common area, a cash bar, and a small library/gym, where guest can socialize and dine. We have kayaks which you can use to explore the mangroves, go bird watching or just take your rod along and fish at your leisure, or just in front of the lodge. There is a fresh water swimming pool where you can also relax, and listen to music or read or check email or just chill and chat while having a refreshing drink. A basic continental breakfast is also included, along with pick-up and drop-off at the Deadmans Cay airport. The location of Greenwich Creek Lodge make is easy to access all of what Long Island has to offer. Within walking distance, you can find a small grocery store, restaurants (just over a one mile walk), a gas station, the local clinic, churches, a bank, the museum and the library. Also, there are other small stores that provide miscellaneous items including DVD rentals. Beautiful secluded beaches are a few miles away and accessible by vehicle, or via kayak or a short run or walk. The world famous “Deans Blue Hole” is also located about eight mile south of Greenwich Creek Lodge. Long Island was one of the islands visited by Christopher Columbus and there is a monument to mark the location. It was one of the islands that was originally settled by the Lucayans and the also by the Loyalist, as a result there are a few ruins of the plantations, and sites where the Lucayans lived. ... more   less
