We were staying at another resort, where we asked one of the owners about this place as we wanted to have lunch during our visit. She did 'warn' us about the owner/chef Pierre. We were told that we definitely needed to make reservations, regardless of how quiet the island might be and to ensure we were not late. We were told Pierre is a 'character' and she also told us that the food is great. We made a lunch reservation for 6 people and ensured we had plenty of time to get there on time. The drive into the 'hidden' restaurant requires time; the road is very bumpy. The place itself is nestled within foliage and just beside a beautiful beach. The restaurant is simple in decor with fresh breezes coming in through large windows. The entire property is completely 'off the grid', with solar panels used for power. Pierre is owner, chef and server. We were told to serve ourselves water and choose what bottles of wine we wanted to take to our table. Pierre is a 'character', with an interesting personality. He's a French Canadian who's lived here since the '80s. When we spoke French he responded in both French and English. He might be seen as being 'brusque' at times, but we didn't feel that he was rude at all! And the food....each person chose something different. Salads were fresh. Every person enjoyed her/his choice; spices/herbs very creatively used. Large portions. When the other table of 8 left we were the only customers there so Pierre had some time to chat with us. He's a quirky guy, but all thought he was fine with us. Most importantly, the food was so fresh and delicious. Lots of menu choices including fresh fish, pastas, various pizzas. Some of our choices: filet of mahi mahi with a brown cream sauce, a huge margarhita pizza, scallop/shrimp tossed in cream sauce pasta with scallops in red sauce...we had a leisurely lunch cooked and served by a 'character'! Yummy! Recommended.

Chez Pierre

If you find yourself in Long Island and you want a delicious meal you must visit Chez Pierre in Millers Bay.
We were driving from Stella Maris Airport to Clarence Town and found ourselves very hungry. Without any points of reference or friendly recommendations we happened upon a little sign on the road, “Chez Pierre”, quickly looked it up and found it was a restaurant. Followed the sign into a crooked narrow road, the pot holes and jagged rocks popping out here and there threatened the integrity of our rental car but with 4 hungry souls on board we decided to keep going. I did have to call and make sure we were headed the right way, he assured we were and with his inviting demeanor he said to continue to follow the signs that will pop up.
Well, as soon as we arrived we knew we had found a hidden oasis. Simple, tranquil, no fan fair, just perfect.
We entered the main building which is the restaurant and immediately could appreciate the craftsmanship and the work that had gone into the place (built by Pierre some time ago).
Pierre greeted us and had our table ready. He showed us the bar told us the price of mixed drinks, then the fridge with soft drinks and his selection of wines (I am partial to Argentine wines and he had a nice selection). He instructed us to serve our selves while he prepped his kitchen, and that we did.
When handing us our menus he said “here is the menu and I have everything” which was music to our ears because we’ve eaten in various places throughout Bahamas where we were told “we only have a and b” after being handed a full menu (we understood since everything is imported sometimes things are available, some times not). However, Pierre manages to have it all.
Soft music played in the background as we enjoyed walking around the place, the beach is steps away as well as the resort cabins part of the tranquil grounds. Once we ordered, and not long after, our 4 meals meals came out at the same time (also not the norm throughout Bahamas from Abaco through Eleuthera to Exumas).
We all ordered something different and Pierre did not disappoint. The flavors and spices all orchestrated in perfect symphony. Can you tell we enjoyed it? For the first time in almost 2 months we had a delicious meal, prepared by someone who enjoys what he does and is proud of his product, while also doing it with courtesy and pride of ownership.
After finishing our meals I asked him if I could see his kitchen. He said “of course” and showed us where the magic happens, as well as his meticulous pantry.
Sometimes the best discoveries happen when you’re not looking for them and this was definitely one of those places. For the price of 4 cheeseburgers and 4 soft drinks elsewhere in Bahamas, we were treated to Pierre’s gourmet creations. Make sure not to miss it.

We stayed at Chez Pierre for 5 nights and it was great! The cabins are simple, clean and comfortable. The salty shower/sink water is no big deal and works out fine, even for shaving (legs/faces). Plenty of towels, nice beach towels, and a room refresh after 3 nights was really nice. Pierre provides bottled water for teeth brushing, drinking. The bed was so comfortable and sleeping right on the beach is awesome. I'd heard the road to Chez Pierre was bumpy but we had no issues and found it just fine. The food is excellent - Pierre has so much talent, and he really gets in the zone. Only drawback is that communication is challenging. He doesn't have or make time to listen and signals can get crossed. I didn't take anything personally, but I also didn't feel I could ask questions or give input or feedback, ie have a conversation, which would have made my experience better. Best salads in the Bahamas, French toast amazing, pasta is excellent, pizza delicious, everything fresh and flavorful. It's a real treat and a good value to stay and eat here. I liked it that Pierre chose the entrees and salad within our dietary preferences. I trusted his choices and liked being surprised. Variety was amazing. The beach is beige sand, not white sand, but soft under your feet and calm water. Good central location. Quiet and peaceful. He has a wonderful dog who made us feel so welcome, we enjoyed seeing her every day although don't leave any shoes lying around. Other guests were a pleasure to socialize with. Good wifi in the dining room for catching up with online stuff, if you need to.

We visited Pierre twice during our December 2019 visit. We had heard great things about the restaurant and wanted to experience it for ourselves and were not disappointed. He is unique person and a world class chef - probably some of the best italian dishes we have ever had - all in a great location that requires you to drive a few km on a dirt road (where else do you get that in the world these days!).

We just returned from an incredible week stay with our family of 9 at Chez Pierre! If you are looking for a place to disconnect from the hectic world and reconnect with nature as well as your loved ones...look no further. The off-grid beach cabanas were clean and comfortable, all you need for a restful sleep listening to the ocean.

His all inclusive package takes the decision making out of what’s for dinner, and the food is absolutely exquisite! He was quick to accommodate our many dietary needs and was even kind enough to have our kids in the kitchen for cooking lessons. Our favorite was his homemade strawberry ice cream, yum!

The beach is equipped with kayaks for exploring and chairs for lounging. When you have had enough reading, ask Pierre to take you on an island tour to the Farmers Market, Blue Hole, or arrange a fishing trip. We will definitely be back!

I stayed at Chez Pierre’s with my partner in Feb 2020 and it was such a lovely vacation. The cabins are right on the beach and the view is great! My partner enjoyed bone fishing in the bay and we loved the easy access to kayaks and a car rental to explore the island. Pierre’s cooking was delicious - we had seven unique and tasty meals while we were there. He was a great host and it is apparent from encountering the repeat guests that dine at his restaurant that both he and his cooking is very much appreciated. I would definitely stay here again.

We loved staying at Pierre's. Very laid back quaint atmosphere. The cottages are only a bedroom and a bath. No cooking facilities or refrigerator but Pierre doesn't charge outrageous prices from the bar. You do help yourself and are responsible to keep tract of what you take. Remember this is the out islands of the Bahamas and you need to be respectful and honest. The beach is quite and beautiful. We were there by ourselves often. As far as food is concerned it was fantastic. We recommended it for dinner and saw people come back again because they enjoyed the meal so much. Make a reservation though and don't be late. Pierre also has a sense of humor that might take a minute to figure out. He may tell you he gave your table to your brother and you get to pay for his meal. Things like that...

We read such great things but really the food was far better at Cape Santa Maria. Service was fast, food was okay but nothing special. Pasta had lots of water leftover in it (not drained well at all) and the flavor was bland. Pierre is a one-man show and does a great job considering he runs the entire operation there but for us, not worth the drive down the extremely rough side road. Cape Santa Maria's food and service were stellar. The Shrimp and Lobster pasta was full of flavor and had a great Alfredo sauce. Breakfast at the Cape was EXCELLENT as well....banana pancakes were outstanding.

Our friends recommended visiting this place, but we could not even find it on Google maps. So when we met up with them and traveled by boat, we've got to experience Pierre's amazing cuisine. Greek salad and grouper were wonderful! Plus it's a make your own drink kind of bar, so we had nice drinks from a great selection of liquors too!

Chez Pierre is a fantastic resort to unwind from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Pierre is always helpful with making your vacation enjoyable and is a fantastic cook. I've stayed at Chez Pierre 7 times now and am an avid fly fisherman. The flat on the far end of Millers Bay beach is fantastic for DIY bonefishing but beware of the Lemon sharks at mid to high tide! I highly recommend fly fishing or taking an eco tour with guide Locksley Cartwright, he knows where the Tarpon are! On this trip the private boats were shut down but i caught 24 bonefish (3-9lbs) on my own and missed a bunch.
