Had a wonderful two night stay here in January. The location is in a very secluded hamlet a couple of miles from Brae. Jean runs the place with a sharp attention to detail that makes it that much more enjoyable, and the breakfast in the morning is perfect.

Very central location from where to explore Northern and Southern parts of Shetland. Fantastic views from rooms and all around the house. Friendly hosts and great breakfast of very high quality. Very clean, comfortable and nicely decorated rooms with generous and well arranged hospitality trays. Can highly recommend this place and would be more than happy to stay there again!

We stayed at Vadsdal on our first holiday as we wanted to be close to amenities in Brae, including a service centre for Bolts Hire Cars, but have a base for exploring Northmavine and Northern Isles. It was also only a few mins drive across the bridge to Busta House for meals. We had a really nice 5 nights here....

We booked this only a few hours before arriving because of a change in circumstances to our original plan and stayed only one night. The place was easy to find and we had no complaints. Jean and her husband were both very welcoming. We had a room with a great view (although the weather prevented it being as good as...

Jean Robertson was a great host, genuinely friendly and very accommodating. Out room was very ample and clean, and we got a great night sleep in it (number 2). Breakfast was deliciously cooked! Although we were here in the winter and the weather wasn't the best for sight seeing, this would be a great base for a summer visit. Thoroughly...

During my one week holiday in Shetland, I chose this place for the first 4 nights as my base to explore the northern parts. What a lucky find and nothing short of perfect in every way! Even the fact that I got a better room (with en-suite bathroom) rather than the booked one at no additional cost, because Jean needed...

Stayed for 5 nights on first visit to Shetland. Jean & Peter are attentive and friendly hosts with a warmth to their welcome who will make sure you are very much at home. Vadsdal feels secluded yet serves as an ideal base to see any and all of the islands as it is centrally located for touring, flying and ferry...

We stayed on two separate nights during our cycling trip around Shetland. It is a very comfortable place set in a peaceful location. The house is 3 miles from Brae and set in lovely gardens with great views down the Voe to the Drongs. We had the en suite room with a great shower, comfortable bed and lots of space....

We stayed just one night here on a 6 day cycle tour of Shetland....Just wish we could've stayed longer! Our room was well furnished, clean and cosy....with beautiful views across the garden and the bay. Peter was kind enough to drop us off at the nearby hotel where we'd booked for dinner. We were running short of time (due to...
