Great value for the money. The guesthouse is perfectly situated : in front of the bus station, next to 7/11 and many other shops and restaurants. Shared buthrooms but always very clean. The owner is very lovely and we'll do all she can to keep her guests satisfied. Make sure to try her delocious fried rice at very reasonable price.
We were due to stay here for one night recently but due to travel complications were not able to reach the mainland to stay here. Attempted contacting on booking.com under our booking several times only to not receive a reply. However when we initially contacted them with a query, they replied. Charged for the night stay too without being able to make it and informing them in advance of the issue. Still yet to receive a reply. Not impressed.
Stayed here for two nights. The hostel itself was clean, and the owner was lovely as was her daughter! It was pretty quite when we were there too! In the morning we were offered some breakfast, which we really appreciated although we had to decline as we were running late so can’t say much for weather it was nice or not. It’s in a good location too, right across from the bus station and along the Main Street with markets and restaurants close by! Each bed had its own locker for your valuables but there was a strange stench from them which stayed on my bag for a day or 2 after leaving? One thing that we didn’t appreciate here was the extra tax we had to pay per person without being noted about it previously. We booked a 2 bed room but got a 4 bed dorm but no one else checked in so that would have been fine if we didn’t have to pay extra tax for the two empty beds considering we only booked a 2 bed to begin with! …
Facilities were basic but very clean and fit for purpose. Extremely friendly and helpful hostess who will go out of her way to make you feel at home, and sort out anything you need. Would definitely recommend staying here again. Good central location in Main Street of Cameron Highlands.
Its a very simple hostel but I liked it! Would recommend to stay in a private room. The room we stayed at was clean and the shared bathrooms as well. The woman working at the hostel is very friendly and helpful. Location is super! 1 minute walk to the bus station, 3 meters to Lords cafe (I recommend you to visit) and next to a lot of restaurants, mostly indian food. Walking distance to some trails and waterfall. Wifi mostly good. Breakfast was really good if you like indian food. Although the portions couldve been a little bit bigger. Bring earplugs if you're sensitive to noises. The main street is right outside the window and it gets LOUD! Would stay here again!
I enjoyed my stay at De Cameron guesthouse. The family who runs this place is very friendly and helpful. The woman cooks a traditional Indian breakfast in the morning which was a delight and so much better than the usual toast. The rooms are small but sufficient. Every bed has its own light and power socket and the beds are comfortable. The location is perfect, right opposite the bus station and on the main street where all the restaurants are. I'd stay again anytime.
With barely any time spent here it's maybe unfair to leave a review. However, from what I gathered, the family who runs it is very nice, and the location is good, but the place itself is pretty lackluster. It's clean, the beds are comfy, but the walls are paper thin, so noise at night was definitely a problem for us, and either the town/area really is as boring as it seems, or woman manning the front desk just really doesn't have the knowledge of the area that tourists need (asking for advice on what to do, the only answer we got was to join a tour.. and I felt that was a pretty lame response). There's also no atmosphere and the hostel itself feels quite bare.. For one night it was absolutely fine, but definitely one of the most unmemorable places I've stayed at while travelling.
Easy location opposite the main bus terminal so made our early morning bus ride to Penang a breeze. We stayed for 2 nights and had 2 rooms with double beds which were basic but comfortable. Our rooms where on the main road which meant that it was quite noisy with the road and morning prayer. Breakfast was part of our room which was great and the shared toilets and showers were basic but easy to use and clean. We walked to the Robinson Falls from here and there are plenty of local food places to eat around. The owners were very welcoming and helped us organise a tour and felt like we were living in their house which was great. Would recommend if you need a pit stop in Cameron Highlands.
Nice place, breakfast included in the morning. The Family working There is so nice and helpful. Good location in the center. Laundry and bustickets can be fixed at the reception. Mostly for young travellers.
We stayed here for our whole time in the Cameron Highlands. The owners are lovely, always willing to help. Rooms are small but cosy. Showers and bathroom are separate but clean and nice. Best thing about our stay was breakfast. The indian chapati with gravy was a-ma-zing and it was a good moment to make contact with fellow travellers. Defenitely recommend this place! (Across the bus station of Tanah Ratah)
