A beautiful hotel located in the heart of Tanah Rata. This hotel near to famous TAC Restaurant Steamboat & Grill just 5 mins walking distance. Consider a budget hotel with nice architecture yet classic and traditional. The room look old so far.

Just a decent place to rest when in Cameron Highland. Price was good considering the location in the heat of the town. Shop, bank, eateries are in walking distance from the hotel. Wifi only located at the hotel lobby. Does not provide in hotel breakfast.

Just one incident got me all flustered. Some guests in another room were relaxing in their room. Some nosy parker hotel staff apparently reported to the cops that the guests were wearing yellow tees in their room. The police came rushing and arrested the guests and packed them off to the police station. Shocking that in Malaysia it is apparently illegal to wear yellow tees, they seem to have been banned. Ridiculous. What is more ridiculous is the attitude of the hotel staff who have no respect at all for paying guests' privacy. We checked our room thoroughly for any peepholes. Not being satisfied, we decided to check out and find other accommodation. Parting words - Keep away from this notorious hotel.

PLEASE DO NOT IGNORE THIS REVIEW. IN 2 MONTHS OF TRAVELING AND STAYING IN SOME REALLY CHEAP AND BAD PLACES, THIS WAS BY FAR THE WORST.The hotel is expensive in comparison with other hotels in the area. I did not sleep at all whilst staying here, fortunately only for one night. The walls are thin and therefore you can here everything in other rooms and corridors. Until 2.30am there were children running up and down the corridors and screaming. Other guests left their room doors open only making it worse. At 2am I complained to reception staff who did not seem to care. The following morning I complained to the manager who said that she was unable to tell other guests to be quiet as they were on holiday. She did not seem to realize that this was at the cost of all considerate guests.
Planters hotel on the main road is cheaper and far far nicer. I would recommend this without hesitation.

Having been away for a month and a half now this is the worst hotel I have stayed in. Rooms were grimy, litter cluttered the hallways and I swear there were bed bugs. The TV didn't work, and the rooms freezing cold being in the highlands. Worst of all....walls were paper thin so could hear everything that was being said in the next room including the TV. Kids were allowed to scream in the halls until 2am in the morning and after complaining to the guests directly and then the hotel itself, they refused to do anything about it stating that it 'want their responsibility.' In total I had five hours sleep and after complaining to the owner again the next morning, she was extremely rude and unapologetic!

A hotel that must have been great in the 90's. The room are pretty big, furniture is ok and it is clean.
But they need to reprint some of the rooms, and improve some small things such as breakfast and Internet in the rest of the hotel.
The location is perfect and the rooms are quiet.

This is my second visit here but unfortunately, inferior to my first. Location-wise, Cool Point Hotel wins hands down for it is situated in the heart of Tanah Rata where many eating outlets and souvenir shops are. As such, they are within walking distance from the hotel. As its name suggests, the room we stayed in was very cooling. However, the hotel requires serious maintenance. Some appliances in my room were faulty, most notably the TV set and bathroom tap. While my second visit was generally satisfactory and comfortable, I believe efforts should be undertaken to maximize the potential of this hotel as a restful place for its guests.

Room Tip: The rooms at the side of the building can be noisier as they are next to an eating outlet.

Affordable hotel rates, nearby shops and places to eat, accessible by cars, taxis and vans, greeneries and fresh air, snacks and beverages vending machine, comfy coffee house, and very convenient. Walking distance field is available to organise a team building or family day telematches. Need to contact the local council (Majlis Daerah Cameron Highlands @ MDCH) for rental booking. This hotel is just behind a Bus Terminal and the road to the local hospital is on the way from the hotel's main junction. Foot reflexology and local tour can be arrange from the town's centre.

Had a short trip to Highlands and following are my findings:-

** The check in procedure was fast & prompt with friendly receptionist. She didn't mind showing us the rooms before we could decide. In addition, the pricing of the rooms were reasonable & affordable.

1. Spacious room & with balcony
2. Clean & no laundry bag kept for guest
usage
3. Dimmed lightings - too gloomy
4. No latch at the back of door - lack of
security
5. No double lock at d balcony door - lack
of security
6. Television - Lack of multi language
channels
7. Low hot water pressure - need to
improvisation
8. Clean linens. A small suggestion - to
have thicker blankets due to cool
temperature

Hope my opinion on the hotel cum the rooms would be of help for others.

Cheers
