It was a nice & comfortable stay. Surely next time we will stay in the same hotel. The room was very spacious and maintained well. Had a good view over there. I recommend this hotel to anyone who wish to stay in Tanah rata
We stayed at this 4 star hotel for about 4D3N. The room was huge and spacious for my family and we got a balcony that faced the mountain area. It was very cold at night and only fans were provided at the hotel room. It was too packed and crowded at breakfast time, as it seems like so many pple are staying at the hotel. Also, at the sheltered carpark area, there should be lights installed as we cannot even see inside the dark carpark.
Beautiful colonial style building but interior, eg., room, bed, bathroom are run down and need a new face lift and upgrading. Room are not as clean as what has been described by others. Quite a distance to the nearest eateries and shops. Would definitely choose another hotel if given another choice.
The room is very old and badly maintain. I found hair everywhere in the room. On our second day of stay there were no cold water, toilet couldn't flush and we had to shower with 95°C hot water. Staff are poorly trained, when they were told of the problem of the hot water issue, typical attitude, no effort in resolving both the technical issues and customer service issues.
Stay one night booking through online, open carpark a bit dark but nice and huge lobby . Room quite old and need refresh, bathroom condition run down and need maintenance work, only 5 television channel?? breakfast is the worst with limited dishes , no omelet and fried station? kway teow and fried rice was burnt. Pastries is quite disappointed. Staff is quite friendly.
Parking is not an issue. There is a large carpark out and in. The lobby shows the signs of aging and the entertaining areas, although unused show its age. The sofas and chairs are well used and ready to be skipped. As you enter the corridors the carpets are so used and dirty you feel like it would be such a brilliant initiative to rip it all and leave the floor boards bare. We passed stinky half empty nasi ikan plates outside rooms and dead insects on the floor before reaching our room. As we entered the smell was like old socks, sweaty joggers shirt. Heritage in its worst. But windows opened and a cuppa later. The beds were comfy. The Cameron Highlands temperature is pleasant under a thick blanket. Bedding clean. Breakfast was a buffet (asian and western) . Eggs were cooked on the terrace where you could sit ( most tables were inside). Average breakfast cause the juices were so sweet and chemical and the Western option very poor. The curry on the Asian side was the same on the 2 days we stayed. The hotel is about 700m to the town. A diggesting welcoming walk but can be a bit far in the rain. The hotel has a dinner menu but I certainly had no intention to try it out. …
The location was convenient as it is nearby cafes and marts (Starbucks & OldTown). I booked a Deluxe King room which is included a bathtub and a separate shower. It was a spacious room with a balcony. All the basic stuff like hairdryer, fridge, water boiler and etc was provided. There are a small table and 2 single sofas in the room near the balcony where you can enjoy the view comfortably. Mobile signal was really bad there. Even Wifi was provided but the signal was very weak and you need to keep login from time to time.
The setting and furnishings are the first signs. With damp thinly painted walls, thin walls and floors, everything spells true heritage from the first day this hotel is opened. The leak sewer plumbing that emits the whiff of stench affirms it. The poor sound insulation provides the occasional sounds to disturb your peace. Other extras include mildews on walls complete with smell, stench from the rugs and strands of hair on the “made-up” bed (Probably the housekeeping way of informing the management that they do not agree with the preservation of salary scale since since they started work). The hotel block sits on topmost ground amidst several blocks of low-rise apartments. There is a 2-level car park building. Room has balcony and offers view to nature but the management is a firm believer in preserving the furnishings and building from the first day. Probably to blend with nature. Buffet breakfast has the usual basic asian western arrays but nothing spectacular. Its a 10-minute walk downhill to the amenities where you may find shops and eateries. But you have to drive further up the highlands for the attractions. …
Stayed at Heritage Hotel for 2 nights in the new wing. Quite decent, clean and quiet....except for those occasions when other residents allow their room doors to slam shut instead of closing it gently :(. Very conveniently located within walking distance to lots of nice restaurants in Tanah Rata town
the same experience the hotel offered me when I first visited around 35 years ago. The rooms, no doubt a tad old but that's actually what you will be looking for in a place like Cameron Highlands. I do hope they will do the necessary refurbishment soon.
