Located in the heart of Tanah Rata, its a place where you can easily find food, bank and others. Its a comfort place to stay if you come with a family of two kids. The queen bedroom is not too small but is good enough to overnight and have a good rest for the next day journey. The price is reasonable.if you are looking for place with a good view, big and large space, then this is not good option for you...

I booked a room for 3 nights for both my sisters who came here for a holiday. They wanted a place nearby to all the facilities like shopping for daily stuff and plenty of places to dine at. The best choice was to get them in a place at the heart of Tanah Rata as they lack transportation. The Camelia Budget Inn was a disaster. Trying to get to the first floor(that's where the hotel is), got a rude shock as the owner of the Inn started shouting at us by saying that we have to go to the ground floor to get upstairs. The reception was actually a cashier counter for a provision shop. Documents were handed to them on the booking of one single room for 3 nights. Payment were paid through Booking. Com but they were not familiar with this. In fact, they didn't even knew there a booking was done for 3 nights. It took more than half an hour to sort this out. Every Time a customer comes to pay for provisions, they were served and we had to wait our turn again. The owner's Wife was not familiar with all these transaction and so she called her Daughter. We had to explain all this over again to the Daughter. She spoke to her Mother and after some deliberation, she didn't or known about this transaction. They then called the Son and he came and looked at all the documents. He had the look of uncertainty. He got fed up of waiting and voiced up. Then he says never mind as you can check in first and will sort this out later. When we checked in, only to discover that there was no toilet rolls and we had to request for one. Only one a day for toilet roll. Anything more than one, the guest have to pay for it. Then there was no towel in the bathroom. They said that the payment only covers for the room and nothing else. We had to pay RM25 for each towel and we cannot change it Everyday as there will be other payment involved. The computer was accessible but no internet or wifi service at all nothing works. It was really an unpleasant stay at this place.

We actually had a quick look at the room before taking it, so we only have ourselves to blame. Once checked into the room we came across the stained sheets, mattress that you could feel the springs so not a comfortable sleep. The fan was noisy even on the lowest setting, had to turn that off in the middle of the night as couldn't sleep with it on. They had glass mugs in the room with no kettle or coffee to fill them with, just as well as they were really dirty. The reception area was in the shop downstairs, so if you needed something you had to queue up to ask as this was a busy shop. We also hadn't noticed the damp smell until we came back later on in the evening. You had to pay RM 25 deposit per towel and these really smelt quite bad. You can find better accommodation for the same price or cheaper, but you just have to do the leg work and look around.

1. Good location in the centre of tanah rata. So its veey easy to walk around. Not so much attractions here but very quiet compare to brinchang. 2. It suit the term budget hotel. Lucky me i get parking in front of the hotel. 3. Only wall fan no a/c. Tv only got 5 channels. Not so much choice. 4. Room is clean. Wifi signal strong.

While this accommodation did suffice, the abysmal wifi and strong smell of smoke in our room were not ideal. It's well situated and entering it can't be too dissimilar from getting into Fort Knox. The staff were always in the adjoining minimart but fairly unhelpful/oblivious to your existence. This place is cheap and cheery though so don't despair if you find yourself settling for it.

I went here with my hubby and my parents for a short trip.It was a great location, situated in the middle of town. There are lots of restaurants nearby within walking distance. The room was comfortable,we booked the standard queen with attached bathroom. There is a fan which we seldom use since that the weather in Cameron is already cold.It have a balcony which is an added bonus for a budget inn.The hotel provided computers with free internet access which located just outside our rooms. Overall,it was a pleasant stay for a budget inn.Definitely will come here again.

Stayed 3 nights here, right in the centre of the town. The 'reception' to check in is actually a food shop run by the family. The lady that greeted us didn't smile or have any manners, however the young boy who showed us our room was lovely. The room had a funny smell, average size, smallish bathroom. Good wifi. Hot and cold water dispenser available. As the rest of the accommodation in the Cameron Highlands isn't great, this place is a good option for the price.

Stayed there for 4 nights as visiting the CH. Good thing about it is the location. The room was quite dark and the shower not really hot. After wandering around in Tanah Rata it seems to br a good place to stay since most accomodations seem to be lousy anyway.

Very welcoming hosts led us to a double room with wet room. The bed was very very old and the covers and sheets looked unwashed and filthy. We could feel the springs in the bed which made sleeping quite uncomfortable. Regarding the price however, the hotel was nice enough and the very kind owners made up for a sleepless night. Free hot and cold drinking water was supplied in the common area. The one time we tried, the internet wasn't working. The hallway was nicely decorated and the house had a charming feel to it. The location is excellent, in the centre of Tanah Rata with shops, bars and restaurants on the doorstep.
