This place is ok but for the price you pay, the value for money is really bad. The room was 50 ringgit which was the cheapest we could find in the area. The bed was comfy but there was an awful damp smell in the room and the bathroom was so disgusting, I only entered with shoes on. Yes it's a budget hostel but you don't really pay a budget price - just because it's on the cheaper end in this touristy area. It's really not worth 50 ringgit. You get free water which is good.

After reading the reviews below, we didn't expect much, but were pleasantly surprised. The room was clean and spacious, there was a fan, a tv (with fox movies), a table with chair and a mirror. The bed was comfortable and soft (if you like soft matress). The bathroom had a toilet, sink and hot water shower. Everything worked fine. Wifi is good and there was a water cooler/boiler in the hallway, so no complaints. The only thing we could remark is that the room felt a bit moist/damp, but we kept the window open and the fan turning on one side of the room at low speed.

Room stank and was dirty we had to move room from 6 to room 10 because shower was leaking. Walls are so thin so next room tv kept us up all night. Only 2 tv channels work. Bed sheet was dirty and found bugs in it. Shower floor was soaking wet even though we didn't have a shower. Now to the scam... the very unfriendly lady at reception charged us 110 MYR and we paid in cash. We booked on booking.com I checked my bank account this morning and they have charged me £20 from my credit card even though we paid in cash I am fuming and want my money back. One of if not the worst hotels we have stayed in south east Asia in the last 8 months back packing. Room smelt dam and was just filthy more like a squat.

great budget hotel, clean , providing hot showers, only let down was the pressure of the water. Apart from that nice host who booked our cameron highlands tour and our bus tickets to Kuala Lumpur , we paid 50 ringgit a night for a double room and private bathroom. hotel also provides free water from its coolers and hot water . The host also offered to drop us off to the bus station in the morning when we were travelling to KL.

Nice & Clean room but just got a little problem such as toilet stuck and a bit smelly of prayer smoke but its okay. No kettle in the room, you need go to water dispenser at level 3 to get hot & cold water. Near with restaurants.

I don't like to give mean reviews, but this place was truly bad. Through Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, and Malaysia...this is the worst place we stayed. Cons: Smelled like strong toxic chemicals, like nothing I had ever smelled before. No fan - said there was a fan in listing No hot water - said hot water in listing Windows had no screens, and there were always bugs in the room, because we wanted the windows open to get rid of the smell. The bathroom floored never fully dried. The flooring was uneven and water stayed in puddles and began to smell. Headboard on bed was covered in mold. Mattress felt like a sheet covering springs. There were large holes in the ceiling and walls (leading to the outside), it was scary to be by the window, because it looked like it was about to collapse. Not worth the price! The toilet worked half the time. Unclean Pros: Friendly staff Decent internet Good location I'm puzzled by the positive reviews, but maybe we just got the worst room. I hope the staff can renovate, because it is located in a great spot. There are a lot of good hotels around though.

This place is great for a cheap night in the Cameron Highlands if you are only interested in staying for 2 nights or even 1. So that you are able to do a tour around the Cameron highlands :) Only 55RM if you book online, but we booked an additional night and it was only 50RM.. It is on the Main Street and many shops and restaurants are only a few minutes walk away.. They also let us, use there phone to call for our next accommodation! We recommend and stay here again!

Camlodge Budget Hotel is located in the centre of Tanah Rata, so everything in town is close by. Right under hotel and on the opposite side of street are restaurants, shops and some kind of local market is also near. Travel agency office offering tours around tea plantations in the area and transports to other destinations is close, too. The rooms are basic, toilet flush was not working and kitchenware in apartment was not very clean, but for budget travelling is Camlodge very satisfying choice.
