What a lovely place to stay. Tanya and shayne are very welcoming hosts, even on last notice bookings like ours. The house is neat and very tidy, beautiful fully equipped kitchen, great hang out places in the garden, picnic tables, hammock chairs and hammocks to rest. Anakiwa 401 is located right by the track at the end of the sealed...

Had a great time staying in this lovely place. Fantastic location at the end of the track, so you can walk straight from the door, or take a water taxi further up the track and walk back. Big jetty at the end of the drive to go kayaking or swimming, or even fishing. Shane & Tanya have made this a...

Tanya and Shayne were so great. I cannot say enough nice things about them. They helped us make all our plans, helped us reroute after Kaikoura roads damaged in earthquake, and then helped us replan our day after I fell sick and could not go on our preplanned kayak and hike. Shayne even offered to take us out snorkeling or...

Anakiwa 401 is like no other 'backpackers' we have stayed at before, forget crammed noisey smelly city backpackers, this place is amazing, such a good feeling to come off the QC walk and be greeted by the lovely staff and amazing area. The place is immaculate and you can just see how proud the staff are of their piece of...

We spend 5 nights in the bay view apartment. The apartment had a great feel (well appointed , clean, comfy beds and nice sheets). Tanya and Shane made us feel well looked after and we made use of the kayaks and hammocks. If you are after some exercise then get the water taxi to Torea and walk back - great...

Everything about Anakiwa 401 is fabulous. The hosts Shayne and Tanya are incredibly helpful and have given attention to small details that truly enhance the experience. The common areas are super-comfortable and well equipped and the rooom we stayed in was airy and bright with its own balcony and view of the water. Lovely established garden, full of birds. Shayne...

A wonderful retreat, my only regret being that I could not stay more than two nights. Shane and Tanya and great hosts. The setting is marvellous, and merely a short ride by water taxi from Picton. The Queen Charlotte Track is quite literally on your doorstep. You can borrow a kayak and tack along the coast line, spying out starfish...

I stayed at this lovely guest house for 3 nights. Tanya and Shayne were really helpful and lent me their equipment for kayaking. The bed was extremely comfortable and the facilities are excellent. There are no shops (so bring your own food or buy it off the guest house) and not much phone reception unless you walk down the pier...

We only had a one day stay at Anakiwa which was never going to be enough. Great spacious accommodation with views over the lake. Still warm enough for a swim in mid May. Took the hosts advice and went for the short walk to see the glow worms in the evening which was well worth it. We were very warmly...

This guest house was so welcoming after a day of driving. The rooms were comfortable and warm with great shared facilities to cook dinner. The location is stunning and so close to anything you would want to do in this part of the world. Tanya was a lovely host. Thank you for a great experience!
