A really rural bed and breakfast with a delightful owner who was really helpful. The room was large and had a little terrace outside, it is up in the mountains so has lovely views and the supper was really good.

La Casona de Con offers everything we were looking for. The location is terrific, with fantastic views into the Pico's. The rooms are spacious and offer a lot of privacy since they are in three separate buildings. Decorated with good eyes for detail! Javier is the best host you may wish. He knows all the hikes into the Pico's and,... More

Fantastic! All around an amazing place. Beautifully refurbished rooms, amazing natural setting, personal attention to hosts by Javier and his family, great breakfast, local ingredients. Wifi works in the room. Views of the surrounding valley and beautifully maintained gardens around property. Top marks for everything.

We arrived around dinner time and walked into the dining room. I felt like I had stumbled into someone's family dinner. We had, in a way. The two hosts, who spend their time dipping in and out of the kitchen and telling you another great characteristic of the area, treat you not as paying customers but cherished guests who've traveled... At about 10 mins drive from Cangas de Onis, you will find this peaceful place with outstanding views over de Picos de Europa range. We were travelling as a family with 2 small(er) boys of 4.5 and 6 y.o. Every morning Javier would advise us on options for the day: hiking, beach, culture, etc. In his help, he would consider... The location is stunning, the rooms are charming and comfortable, and the hosts are warm and friendly and happy to share their amazing knowledge of the area. Each day Javier helped us find the perfect hike or outing--it was like having our own personal tour guide in addition to the perfect place to stay. Then a glass of wine on... More

We loved this place - the mountain views and setting are truly beautiful. Javier and Elena are incredibly engaging and likeable hosts, we were made to feel like one of the family. They cooked a simple supper each evening of local fish, vegetables and cheeses, all delicious. Lots to do in the area - canoeing, canyoning, hiking or a short... More

My husband and I stayed in the Casona de Con for 4 nights in early August together with our 25 year old daughter having discovered it via the Alasdair Sawday website. Walking in the Picos de Europa, the Cares gorge, the lakes of Covadonga, kayaking down the Sella river and relaxing on the beaches between Llanes and Ribadesella.. all astounding places to appreciate mother nature in all her glory.. However the warm welcome, great food, comfort and assistance provided by Javier and Elena are out of this world! What a place... More

I had a brilliant two night stay here in early June. The hosts, Javier and Elena, were so friendly and helpful. Javier gave us very helpful tips for where we could walk in the Picos de Europa. The accommodation has a lovely rural feel, with sheep grazing in the yard and the sound of cow bells echoing through the valley,... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our country house, La Casona de Con, is a recently restored 18th century building nestling in the stunning surroundings of the Picos de Europa National Park (Asturias).
Located in a peaceful rural location, we have tastefully refurbished to provide all the comforts of home, making it a perfect place to spend some special days.
We, Javier and Elena, have maintained the caracter and ambience of the original rural house.
It is incomparably situated as a point of access to the most emblematic locations in Asturias: the lakes of Covadonga, the beaches of the coast of Llanes and Ribadesella, Cares Canyon, or borough of Cabrales.
You can choose between a relaxed stay in the purest style of a spiritual retreat or participate in adventure tourism activities, such as canoeing, hill walking, climbing, riverside strolls, fishing, exploring the romanesque churchs or enjoy local cheese and cider experiences.
Your bedroom overlooks attractive surrounding hills and our guests can have breakfast and dine overlooking our astonishing Picos de Europa's mountains.
All rooms have private bathrooms. ... more   less
