Our country house, La Casona de Con, is a recently restored 18th century building nestling in the stunning surroundings of the Picos de Europa National Park (Asturias). Located in a peaceful rural location, we have tastefully refurbished to provide all the comforts of home, making it a perfect place to spend some special days. We, Javier and Elena, have maintained the caracter and ambience of the original rural house. It is incomparably situated as a point of access to the most emblematic locations in Asturias: the lakes of Covadonga, the beaches of the coast of Llanes and Ribadesella, Cares Canyon, or borough of Cabrales. You can choose between a relaxed stay in the purest style of a spiritual retreat or participate in adventure tourism activities, such as canoeing, hill walking, climbing, riverside strolls, fishing, exploring the romanesque churchs or enjoy local cheese and cider experiences. Your bedroom overlooks attractive surrounding hills and our guests can have breakfast and dine overlooking our astonishing Picos de Europa's mountains. All rooms have private bathrooms.

What a delightful stay we had in this charming B&B on the foothills of the Picos de Europa. It is a 15 km drive to the Picos de Europa national park. Our party was of two couples traveling together in northern Spain and we were enchanted by Casona de Con and Javier who took such special care of us. We were accommodated in two rooms, side by side on a top floor of the building behind the main house. The rooms were spacious and charmingly decorated. Bathroom had some tiling issues but plumbing was good and heat worked well for the chilly mornings. Most memorable feature of La Casona - the views which are just enthralling. Three of us also had an on-site massage by the fabulously talented Asa who Javier recommended and were rendered even more relaxed afterwards! Thank you Javier for your kind attention and for managing a fabulous b&b. We hope to meet Elena the next time! Muy agradecidos!

This is a lovely place to stay when visiting the Picos de Europa. Javier, the owner, was a magnificent host and and as a result of his advice and recommendations we saw far more of the area than we would otherwise have done. Breakfast and dinner were very nice. Our rooms were tastefully furnished and comfortable and we enjoyed sitting on our terrace enjoying a glass of wine while looking at the stunning views. Great value.

A beautiful property in a beautiful location, outside a village in the foothills of the Picos de Europa. Our rooms (two, side by side on a top floor) were lovingly restored from an 18th-C farmhouse, thick stone walls that kept the rooms cool even during an unusually hot few days. The view from our balcony was breath-taking: green hills, blue skies, mountains in the distance, all to the soundtrack of swallows and cow bells. We had breakfast every morning in the small dining room, where Javier gave us hiking tips for the day while Jelena wisely warned us that not everyone is as fit as Javier. :) An absolutely special place, in the top five hotel stays in my lifetime. When you factor in its very reasonable prices, it's the best. Gracias por compartir tu casa, Javier y Jelena!

Visiting La Casona de Con is like going home, but Javier and Elena's backyard is infinitely more beautiful than mine! Asturias is beautiful, the Picos are spectacular, and there is a lot to do and see. This was my second visit, and La Casona de Con is a lovely launching location to do many activities. The Cares Gorge is amazing, and you can do the walk different ways. You can drive from La Casona de Con to Poncebos and start there, or you can start in Cain (On this recent visit, I used a company that picked me up at La Casona de Con, showed me some sights in the Picos and dropped me off at Cain to do the walk one way. Then, the landrover driver picked me up in Poncebos to bring me home.) For this visit, I stayed 6 nights. Every morning at breakfast, Javier and I would chat about my adventure for the day. If I did not have a plan, he had excellent and helpful suggestions. One day, I went for a walk along the Dobra river to a beautiful pool of water. Another day, I walked along the Sella river to check out the Parador (former monastery) in Cangas de Onis. After I expressed an interest in fishing opportunities, Javier helped me to become educated about salmon fishing in the area, and I was able to meet with a local fishing guide. Javier also recommended a visit to the Interpretation Center of the Natural Park of Ponga, a walk in the park, and a restaurant there. The Ponga Natural Park is quite beautiful! If you are looking for adventure tourism, Cangas de Onis is nearby, and you'll find opportunities there. Covadonga is close as well, and a visit to the lakes is a must. My room was lovely, the food was perfect, the dining room has a great view, and I even had a hammock on my front porch that I enjoyed in the early evenings. As I swayed and enjoyed the valley and mountain view, I was serenaded by the sounds of nature and cowbells in the distance.... a blissful vacation! Javier and Elena are wonderful hosts, and I look forward to my third visit!
