One of the finest B&B accommodations I’ve enjoyed, really very close to perfect, a breathing definition of gracious hospitality. R.S. Hawker’s 1837 vicarage (a listed building) feels older; it’s spacious, which enhances the quiet while also allowing the Victorian/Edwardian decorating to breathe. Superb breakfast including fancy Cornish cheeses. The kind and charming host, Jill Wellby, knows the neighbourhood and its...

Two night turning back time. Sumptuous breakfast, loved the different fruit choices. Lovely hosts, who help you to feel you are sharing their home, rather than just customers at a B&B. use of library, sitting room and if you wanted it, billiard room!! This fascinating B&B sits in a perfect triangle, through the beautiful garden you will reach the village...

Stayed here for one night while walking the south west coast path. The vicarage is truely a gem! Jill was very welcoming and showed us the drawing room, the library and the billiard room. The house is beautifully decorated and spacious. Only three guest rooms are in use, which makes for a cosy atmosfere. We had dinner in the Bush...

My husband and I visited with my elderly mother. What a fascinating place full of history with a very informative hostess who has lived there for 30 years. The house is imposing and the views lovely. It is right next to the Church which is also interesting to look around and very old. You will learn all about the Reverand...

We went as part of a research into our ancestry. It was absolutely lovely. The room and bathroom were very old full of character but very comfortable. The breakfast was extermely good loads of good fruit and hot food as required. The owner could not have been more helpful and we shall certainly go again. The area is lovely too...

It may not be so easy to get to the Old Vicarage (all I'm saying is VERY narrow GRAVEL "roads"...), but once you get there, you will find that it is totally worth any trouble. Not only is its location in "an area ... of outstanding natural beauty on the dramatic North Cornwall coast" a hiker's paradise; the house itself...

This year was our fourth walking the SW Coast Path. Based on our ages (mid-50s) and our experience in prior years, we decided the full walk from Hartland Quay to Bude, rated "Severe," in a single day was not for us. So we broke our stay at the Old Vicarage in Morwenstow -- and what an inspired decision that was!...

Beautiful setting, wonderfully furnished bedroom, a warm welcome, great breakfast, wrapped up within a house which is crammed full of character and history. I really can't speak highly enough of our stay at The Old Vicarage. We found it almost by chance, looking for somewhere to stay for some rest days whilst walking along the SW Coast Path (which runs...

I cannot imagine a more perfect combination of beautiful location and a one-off B&B of character and comfort than Reverend Hawker's Old Vicarage, managed by a friendly, accommodating woman named Jill. It is like stepping back in time, yet with 21st century comforts. Just minutes from breathtaking scenes on the Cornwall coast, the Old Vicarage is unique in my 25...
