I have stayed at The Anchorage on a number of occasions, my longest stint being for two months. I stayed in the double ensuite room, which was very spacious and clean. Stretch and Gee, the hosts of The Anchorage are beyond fantastic and in my own personal experience have gone above and beyond to make sure that my partner and...

Well this was a surprise. Listed as budget accomodation mainly catering for workman and women, it has a 2 bedroom cottage that has all that is needed to rest and recuperate after completing the Old Telegraph Track in a tent. Clean and all kitchen and linen supplied. The hosts were very helpful and always available to answer any queries. We...

Was instantly made to feel at home by crazy Pete and his lovely wife Robbie. The area that the anchorage is situated in was beautiful and offered me the chance to see the tropical part of Australia most people don't. The accommodation it's self was very clean and quiet with two or three clean communal kitchens. Had a fantastic experience...

The idea of a workers accommodation didnt really excite me much. But on my arrival i was really surprised. Not only are the hosts...

Since I was in Weipa on business with a budget, I wasn't really concerned with lots of frills. The hosts, Crazy Pete and Robbie, were accommodating with every request. Weipa is a mining town and this is one way of staying for a bit in the way that the miners sometimes do. The rooms and common areas are SUPER CLEAN....

First things first, This is mainly donga accommodation, basically a single room with tv, air conditioner, desk. They do have a well equipped cottage but i'm a solo traveller. I wasn't expecting much but on arrival I instantly felt like I was at a home away from home. The hosts, Peter (Crazy), his wife and the cleaning staff are the...

I have stayed at the Anchorage on three occasions over the past year. The Anchorage is not the Hilton by any stretch but is very clean and around $60 or $70 per night cheaper than the other hotels etc in Weipa. As a female I was concerned it may have been full of miners etc but that has not been...
